I settled on the Hal's crab and hubby had the Langoustine Ravioli, which was supposed to be a sharing size. The crab was cold but visually pleasing. There was not much seasoning so the mayo dipping sauce made for a bland tasting dish for me. Hubby enjoyed his Ravioli but the three small pieces did not really seem like a sharing size. Overall nice Paris experience but I definitely left there and ordered some takeout to fill in my empty space.

We ordered the seafood tower (whole stone crab, langostine, 6 oysters (3 local varieties), tiny fried shrimp in a cup, ten or so whelks. We also had the shrimp roll, a delectable sea bass ceviche, a bowl of tiny mussels in curry broth that was just SO delicious and a whole pan fried sea bream atop a thin cushion of pea purée and topped with red cabbage & carrot. Everything was superb and our server was swift and smiling throughout the evening. The restaurant itself is small & charming with a simple rustic feel. We felt it was undiscovered but it's likely it was just a slow night on a drizzly evening. I'd certainly recommend a visit!

It's not often that I take advice from a YouTube channel called "Les Frenchies," featuring a woman…read morewho sports striped sailor sweaters and a sensible haircut, but in this case I did, and I think I've been very wrong about the Frenchies thus far. Because in this case, THEY KNEW THEIR STUFF. I loathe oysters with the heat of 10,000 suns, so I had the paté. It was just fine - tasty, and served with plenty of little toast points. But the paté isn't the point of this place. The point is the oysters, and they are divine. My husband had a dozen of their second-least-expensive oysters and he pronounced them amazing - splendid - SUPERB. They are beyond fresh, served on a proper platter with a tall base, and come with a wonderful bottle of vinegar that's aged in cognac casks. He was warned to use only a drop or two, or it will "kill the taste of the oysters." I don't know about that, but I do know that I tried a drop, and I have never tasted anything like it. It was OMG so good. The oysters come with bread - a basket of sturdy slices of what I think was sourdough rye. He had a glass of Bourgogne Aligoté (white), which was eye-wateringly expensive but very, very good. I had a glass of pinot noir, also of very high quality. The restaurant is very small - maybe 10 tables, including the 3 outside - and looks clean and fresh and chic. We sat outside in the warm sun and fresh breeze and had a delightful dining experience. Wait staff are sweet. No one rushes you. It isn't a touristy joint AT ALL, which is lovely to experience in Paris. My only warning is that if you are a larger person, perch carefully upon the chairs. I thought mine was going to collapse at one point. But it didn't. :-) And the oysters were superb.

There was a smattering of ice on the tray but certainly not enough to keep the oysters cold. That said, perhaps this is how the French serve them. These were the only whelk of the trip that had sand in them. And, service was underwhelming. I think a party seated after us was served drinks first and I had to walk to the bar to ask for my check. There, I was ignored until I said something. Then, I asked if I should pay at the bar and they replied, "If you want." They clearly were not ashamed that I was compelled to seek out my check on foot. It was just poor service for a $$$ place. Though, the fois gras pate and smoked scallops were quite good. There are so many other great seafood places in Paris; I wouldn't recommend this one.
