I spent over ten years taking my Ex to court over custody rights. Doing everything right and having your ducks in a row IS NOT ENOUGH. Even when I had a good day, it's clear to me the outcome could have been a great deal better (for everyone involved), if only I had a solid attorney.
I tried getting an attorney off the internet years ago and after a bad experience watching them work, I actually swore off using them. I had had better days in court without the lousy attorney helping me.
All that said, a friend found me this guy and... I'm done.
Like I'm done with everything now.
I watched as, before the hearing, my Ex's attorney tried to play hard guy with my attorney for over a half an hour (back and forth with his client in a side room), even though there was nothing to barter. In the end, it was only my attorney's presence, fortitude, deamenour, clarity of purpose, and knowledge of my "row'd ducks" that convinced the other attorney to cut the crap and get his client to stop fighting.
She signed that day and it was done.
It is frustrating to know that I had all the same paperwork and facts behind me, but I would have gotten nowhere (in both negotiations and possibly before the judge) simply because I'm not an attorney. It is equally frustrating to put your entire case into someone's hands to represent you, only to have them do a worse job than you would have. I experienced both of those things, BEFORE I MET ALEX.
What was not frustrating, for the first time in over a decade, was watching my attorney respectfully and forcefully end the nightmare.
He was reasonably priced as well. read more
