The way I would describe Atrius Health is a billing company that does doctor on the side.. Have had mixed experiences over the years, some good, some horrendous.. until they finally decided to drop me as a patient for inability to pay their exorbitant medical costs.. DR's are hard to get so you are seen by a nurse who knows little about you. Referrals are hard to get. It's been almost 2 weeks and I still don't have a referral for an endocrinologist. I would not recommend them. read more

Wow, I just read the reviews for Atrius Peabody and they are overwhelmingly poor, which is consistent with my experience. I have learned that if I speak with any of the female employees, my blood pressure goes up! When I speak to the nurse, she contradicts herself so much, that it is beyond worrisome. When I ask the front desk where can I find a patient I dropped off earlier, she tells me to "Go upstairs." I have to explain to her that we're on the first floor and there are many floors above us so to say "Go upstairs " is exceptionally vague. It takes real effort to get them to answer basic questions. I've been a longtime client but I'm tired of all this nonsense and I'm going to find a new PCP! read more

I went to Atrius and had an ekg done and the leads kept falling off. The leads are so cheap that the nurse had to actually tape them on with scotch tape. I was thinking what would happen if someone came in and they needed an ekg done with precision and done immediately but could not because the leads are so cheap that they won't stay on properly without tape. I also had shingles on the back of my neck and went to Atrius and saw whichever clinician was available at that time in urgent care. It was not my normal doctor. I was diagnosed with "poison ivy" even though I had been nowhere near the forest. I should've immediately been placed on valtrex for this but instead was told to use hydrocortisone cream and they didn't even do a shingles test. I went to MGH urgent care the next day and they properly diagnosed me with shingles and started me on a 10 day medication treatment for my shingles. I was also tested there and they later confirmed it was indeed shingles. A few bright spots on why I continue to go. It's convenient, also the head physician (Dr Enneguess) is a very good doctor, it's usually not that difficult to get squeezed in for an appointment with a clinician and there is also a pharmacy here which is convenient. read more

Keep in mind, like most such healthcare "collectives" these days, the responsibility is really on you (the patient) to: 1) create your online account (critical for keeping on top of your healthcare with an org like this!) & learn how the site works; 2) call in proactively to check on coverage/physician choices/appointment management etc etc.; 3) (Probably most important of all!) keep track of all questions/concerns/health issues you've got and, next time you see your PCP, **ask them!** [Of course you should always see a dr or go to ER asap --don't wait--if there's anything you think may be serious.] read more

I'm sure that the entire staff is wonderful here, but I want to shoutout Deborah at the front desk, Leslie who showed me to my medical room, and Dr. Karthas who performed the minor surgery. It was for an ingrown toenail I had on my left foot, and these 3 individuals worked together so that I was there for less than 30 minutes! Deborah was at the front desk and she kindly helped me out in making sure I was in the right place at the right time. Leslie called me in from the waiting room and showed me to the correct room where I would wait for the doctor. She efficiently went through the checklist of allergies and conditions and whatnot. Dr. Karthas was awesome. Along with my dad, the 3 of us spoke about Italian (my family) and Greek (his family) culture while Dr. Karthas went to work on my toe. Apart from the anesthesia injections, the operation was painless. As the only podiatrist on the roster at this location, he performed above and beyond as far as results and efficiency. Go here if you want to waste 3 hours of your time. I went here with an obvious soft tissue injury, told them I had been taking tynenol and icing it for a week. The doctor could not have cared less, sent me for an X-Ray. I get back from my X-Ray and the doctor says, it doesn't show any soft tissue damage (NO KIDDING, X-RAYs don't show potential soft tissue damage). I was prescribed (drum roll please), ice and tylenol. This place is such a racket, they only do things so they can bill my insurance. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. I have been a patient here since2007. I absolutely love my pcp. She spends time with you and answers questions that I can understand. I have ongoing health issues. PCP follows up with you and is caring, professional and is understanding of my needs! I would recommend this practice 100%. read more

Beware: you are a number here. After accepting my insurance at the front desk before any services were provided, and after paying my copays, I received bills for a basic office visit. The provider I was seeing was apparently out of network for my insurance (never mind it wasn't my PCP or a practitioner I had specifically asked to see). No head's up or information (or choice in the matter) from Harvard Vanguard until I received the bill in the mail. Contrast that to the large family practice I switched to. On my first visit they noticed that my insurance provider had correct information, but inputted into the wrong area of a database. They advised me to call them and make sure everything was all right before I proceeded with my appointment so I wouldn't "get a big bill in the mail." Not only did they catch the insurance provider's mistake, they were looking out for me. Night and day difference. Though the medical professionals I interacted with at Harvard Vanguard were all wonderful, I won't be trusting this organization with my healthcare. read more

This place has too many problems ranging from difficulty getting appointments to long wait times at visits, to doctors that spend 5 minutes with you max. Doctors don't take enough time with the children to understand what's really going on. After waiting in the waiting room more than 1/2 hour past our appointment time, we waited another 30 minutes in a stuffy windowless exam room. It shows lack of respect for patients. Our 4-month appointment had to happen at almost 5 months because their schedule is overfilled. We are left looking for a different place for our daughter that cares more about the patients. Dr. Brown has been my doctor for 9 years. Lynnfield Medical, as a group,is 100% patient focused. I have referred my family and friends because I trust them 100% with my care. If you want a primary care practice that gets to know you AND cares for you, this is the practice. read more

Although the staff is nice, one of the worst doctors offices I've been to. I've been a "patient" here for three years and I've never met my PCP. I made an appointment with my PCP two years ago and I just found out that it has been bumped back to 2016. No call, no email. I'm lucky I called and didn't show up. I've had issues when they call in prescriptions for me and they never go through. The doctor I was assigned instead of my PCP refused to do tests on me for certain issues because I was "too young" despite me expressing concern over multiple visits. After three years, I'm leaving for a new physician. read more

I normally see Jeanne Enneguess as my primary care doctor; I love her and her nurse practitioners and normally have a smooth visit no matter who I see, whether it be her or them. I recently had to reschedule my appointment and saw a different doctor (the front desk was very accommodating and tried to fit me in as soon as possible). Maria Palermo was horrible. My complaint is in her bedside manner. I'm 22 years old, about 5'4 and I've consistently been 155 lbs for the last five years. Jeanne nor any of the nurses ever mentioned my weight as a problem but Maria insensitively immediately told me to see a dietician and lose 25 lbs. she then told me my cholesterol was high about 3 times, making me feel horrible about it. She continued to tell me, although I've had annual appointments for my whole life, that none of my shots are up to date and that, although I remember having them, there is mo record of it. Not a pleasant experience in the least, Two days ago I went to get blood work done and the nurse giggled the needle in there for so long that my right arm has been sore ever since. I had several test done, no call or email about my results. I had to contact them. Then the person sending me my results by email, did not even know what she was talking about, hello did you read my records before you called. Now, with frustration, i addressed this. The doctor now emails me and tells me do not use sarcasm with his co-workers. I am the patient, i should of been called and treated fairly. Its all about your insurance and the color of your skin with all Harvard Vanguards. Thank god i have all this in emails for proof... meanwhile i am still sick and lord please do not let anything be medically wrong and this facility is pushing my health aside. read more

I have been with HV for 5 years. During that time two of my PCP's left HV. Whenever I try to get a refill for my prescription they say i have to come in to meet the Dr. It is ridiculous, simple prescription. My cholesterol has been high my whole life, I race bikes and work out five days a week. I will go there and the Dr. will tell me my cholesterol is high and I should try walking more. Not again, I am too irked by the constant turnover at this facility, I am going to get a PCP somewhere else. I would recommend not going to HV Peabody unless you have the inside track that a Dr. is actually going to stay there. read more

The main desk receptionists are awesome ! They made sure everything with my insurance was accurate for this office visit. I had to get my eye checked and they were able to fit me in within the hour. Once I got there, I was brought to an exam room right away. I wasn't in their for too long before the doctor came in. He did a couple tests and told me I had a scratched cornea. He sent a couple Rxs to my pharmacy and I was out. Staff is so friendly. I am not disappointed all. read more

Don't bother making an appt for pediatrics. They are never on time. They put you and your child in a room and forget to come back.

This place is terrible. They switched my primary care physicians around without telling me, the waits are awful, the care is subpar, and they call and cancel appointments and reschedule them without warning, even when I was sick and needed care. I am switching out of this place. Very bad business and not worth the aggravation for the care you get. read more

When I called to let them know that we left because we thought a half hour was an unreasonable time to wait to meet a new doctor and that I had purposely left work early to get there on time, the woman said "Okay." No apology or request to reschedule. I said "So thanks anyway." She said "Will you look somewhere else?" I said "Yes" and she said "Okay, bye" Didn't seem very interested in our business. We need a new pediatrician due to my daughter's previous one repeatedly missing over 3 months and 10+ office visits the 1/2 pound tumor that was growing in her brain that almost killed her. 2 years and 70 cycles of chemotherapy later we're shopping for a new baby doc. I brought my 2 1/2 year old for a meet and greet with Dr. Jasmine Bathena at Harvard Vanguard in Peabody MA. We arrived 15 minutes early and 45 minutes later still had not been seen. The waiting room was kid unfriendly and was next to a flight of stairs (no door) which I kept chasing my daughter toward to make sure she didn't fall down 2 flights. We left and will continue to search for someone worthwhile. If my child is not worth your time when you are looking for new patients, you definitely are not going to take good care of her. I've been coming here for years and can't think of a single time I've had to wait more than 15 min, maybe once. More typically I'm seen within 10. If I ask to see my PCP for an urgent care visit they usually can For urgent care I'd rather see whoever is first available.
