Right. Normally I couldn't care, and pass on writing a review, but last night the service was too poor to pass on the opportunity not too.
When we arrived, we were a group of five, but were sat at a table for two maybe three. However this was something I would look past as we are in strange times, and obviously this table is better than none. When we ordered the first drinks it was fine. We all got our orders in and got them within a reasonable amount of time. However as the night progressed we could hardly find a waitress to serve us. It got to the point that no one came to even clear the dishes, which we had to clear ourselves by putting on the bar next to us, We waited and waited for a waitress, and when one finally passed, we got her attention. She came with the orders and then was surprised when we asked if we could split the bill and pay for our own drinks, she got snarky and said "just split the bill", to which was unfair as one person ordered more items. This was at around 8:25. Little did we know, his would be he last order of the evening.
For the next hour we waited and wanted to get more drinks. We waited and nothing happened. There was no waitress passing by or acknowledging us, from the bar where they all hung around. I should mentioned that never once did we get customer service motto of "how is everything?".
We looked around and there was another patron behind us, who was clearly loud and drunk, but for some reasons was still getting served. It's no surprise as at the time there happened to be male member of staff hanging around this guy. Next to these two, were three of the waiting staff texting on heir phones, who unsurprisingly, did not seem eager to go and help any clients. They then decided to help themselves, and poured themselves drinks instead. We continued to wait. with our hands up for over thirty minutes and nobody served us.
Then the male staff with the drunk patron jumped behind the bar and rang the bell, and yelled LAST call. For some reason Last Call didn't mean "Last drinks, then get out", it was just "get out". We are perplexed wondering if this guy was suppose to be the bartender. The doorman walked by and we asked him about this confusion. When we told him we were waiting, he said "should of got their attention". When we pointed we tried he responded with "Look, your not the only ones in the bar". This obviously made us more infuriated. We just left at this point but we left incredibly frustrated and incredibly sober.
The reason I write this is hopefully the owner sees this. Doubt it obviously, but there are some things that are just baffling as to how it happened . Bars can only stay opened till 10pm during the pandemic. Bars need to make as much as they can in that time. You need staff who can keep pushing the product in as short as time as possible, and not staff who clearly can't keep up with the nature of a service job or would rather not be there. This was a Saturday the second busiest night of the week, and the bar is only opened til, 10. In those couple of hours, you need to sell it fast and hard. You need to maximize your time, ask patrons constantly if they need more drinks, not decide that you want to take a photo of a drink you poured. This pandemic can severely affect them, if they don't change the quality of the staff.
That said, food was adequate and if you can get any service, the drinks are reasonably price. As far as that night is concerned the Chef was the only one who did his job well.
