Great experience at a indoor ice skating rink in the underground city of Montreal. It's such a wonderful surprise to find a beautiful ice skating rink. There is a food court and plenty of chairs around the rink of guest to snack and enjoy the skaters. The price was $12.00 for one hour and you should purchase your tickets ahead of time online. Went here on a winter trip to Montreal. Terrible lines, gets super crowded and small. If you really want to experience ice skating, go to the outdoor one near Old Port. It's just a better experience. The restaurants around the skating rink is kinda suspect too. You will go to the payment area and have to pay for your ticket to skate as well as rentals (if you need it). I would've given it more stars but just wasn't too impressed. Maybe it's not the skating rinks fault that it gets crowded but we just didn't have a great experience here. You'll find within the Atrium an indoor skating ring that is available all year round. Around this indoor skating ring, you'll find a food court where folks can eat and watch people skate. In turn, you can opt to skate and watch people eat. People watching people. Exciting. The skating ring is small and can get pretty busy during the weekends, my experience over the weekend confirmed that with many people trying to skate and falling all over the place. This can be somewhat dangerous so smaller children as well as to adults as most people don't skate with a helmet. The staff have events on the weekend for small children as well as events during the night for dating if that's something you're interested in. They regularly clean up the ice, the ice quality was decent. My main issue is how expensive it is, the admission costs and skate rentals can make it a pricey activity for a family. Furthermore, paying for a locker is a stupid practice. Where did you expect me to leave my shoes and coat while I skate? On the floor?Should women skate with their purses on their shoulders? Opt for a deposit system so people can be responsible and return their keys but geez, how freaking greedy can you get?!? The skates I got were complete rubbish and probably haven't been sharpened in months, if ever. They were also incredibly stiff and made the experience skating tedious and painful. I couldn't wait to get out of the ring and take them off.. Perhaps that was their intent..... so they can get more suckers to come here and pay for the activity. Our entire adult group felt their skates were bad. In conclusion, sure being indoors is kind of neat, particularly when it is summer and you want to skate but check your options elsewhere. There are arenas and parks you can try out and they're more cost efficient, have larger skating rings and don't try to ask you for $3 to rent a locker you'll absolutely need to store your things if you want to partake to the activity. read more

Ok, it doesn't have the charm of the outdoor rinks. It's very small and generally packed with smaller kids. It's expensive, as are the food stands surrounding it. I'll tell you why I rate this 5 stars. It's the skating classes they offer! Personally, I never leisure skate here because it's like a fishbowl but with ice! It's such a small rink where everyone is going round and round in a small circle... BUT if you're taking the skate classes, they close the rink for the class only. I used to only know how to skate forwards but after their course, I learned how to skate backwards, do forward and backward stops, crossovers, slaloms, and many more useful abilities that make skating interesting. Classes are typically divided in 3 levels: beginners, intermediate, advanced. In the first class, students are assigned their groups based on their proficiency. Each group has 3 or more instructors to allow students to all get the attention they need. You register for their courses online but the spots fill out quite fast so you have to be quick the day registration opens. You'll need to create your account 2 days in advance in order to register for classes. read more

It is a family indoor ice skating rink. It is not your hockey/figure skating training center so for those negative comments, know what it is and compare as such. For a recreational indoor mall skating rink it is really good. The ice rink is great for novice or people who just want to have some family fun. The temperature is great! Food court that offers array of food options and lot so seating. I enjoy it immensely because I needed to kill sometime between lunch and dinner and what a great place in the city center. Love it! The ice skating rink in Le 1000 is open year round - and that makes it unique in Montreal. The rink is on the small side, and surrounded by restaurants. Therefore, Mommy and Daddy can keep an eye on their skating offspring while enjoying a cup of coffee. The rink is usually packed with small children. Sunday and Saturday before noon are tiny tots hours - no big people without responsible tot allowed! During the evening hours teens abound - it seems to be a popular dating spot. It also seems popular among dating teens to just stand around on the ice and chat rather than skate, taking no head of the obstacle they are providing to people who actually want to skate. If you want to socialize this is a nice place, but if your ambitions are more sporty go somewhere else. All that said, this is a very pricey skating option. Admission is $7 for adults, skate rental another $6.50, locker rental yet another $2.50. Renting helmets etc. of course also costs extra - you get the picture. In winter this is clearly not a good option: Safe your money and go to Parc Lafontaine or Parc Jean-Drapeau instead! Both of these rinks are larger than the Atrium, and free. read more

Security guard allowed a group of 15 people to cut in front of us at the end after we waited in line for 1 hour and 15 minutes. We called him out and he did nothing and then pretended not to speak any English. We told the cashier when we went to pay and he apologized and radioed someone. read more

Plus: The skating rink is open all year round, Downside: it gets super packed sometimes, especially on weekends. I would suggest going there when it's low season or weekday evenings. The workers were very rude and not doing their job. One of them told me not to listen to my music but the rules don't say anything about no headphones. He skates with his girlfriend talking and causing trouble for the rest of us. There were mostly novice skaters and there is not enough space to get around them. The price is way too expensive for what it actually is. Overall I would not recommend this to anyone as the workers have no manners. read more
