I went in to Atrium health Stanley ER in Albemarle NC with extreme pain pressure in upper left back by neck. I was there from about 10:45 am to about 4:30 pm. They did do a X-ray and CT scan and some blood work. I have several abnormal blood test results, high blood pressure. I fell asleep due to no sleep night before and long wait in ER. I'm elderly and on a lot of meds so I sleep hard, I'm not easy to wake up. I wake up to a cop going through my purse. I never gave permission for this but I did when I woke up. I was treated horribly after this. I was told I abused my meds. This was humiliating and I became angry the longer I sat there. I was dismissed after this,no diagnosis for what I came in for. I was still in pain and my left shoulder and arm are getting weak now. I cannot go into every detail on here but md had no medical testing to back up his accusations. He embarrassed me in front of everyone in ER. There are no medical, personal reviews or diagnosis to back him. I have medical and personal files to back me. I understand they deal with drug overdoses but this doesn't mean they can treat everyone like they do. I gave them no medical reasons to treat me medically or personally like they did. I'm so embarrassed, humiliated and still in pain, worse pain actually than when I arrived at ER. I want and deserve a apology from Dr Patrick Robinson and Atrium health Stanley ER in Albemarle NC. I will get what was recorded in my medical files from this md ASAP. I will not accept less. I'm not looking for financial gains just apology and personal accusations wiped from my medical files. I hid nothing from them the moment I came in to when I left. I don't recommend anyone seeking this md and I don't recommend a hospital who backs a md treating their patients like this. I will be pursuing my apologies through lawyers, no financial gains. read more

Doctors and nurses do not tell the truth, they will make up stuff.The patient didn't say and then you get banned. sarcastic and rude people

I have been in this hospital multiple times in the last few years. I have received excellent care each time I was a patient there. Everyone really cared about the patients and showed it. A good example of this is that I was taken to the hospital with severe stomach pains, the CTscan showed thar I needed immediate surgery. The doctor said "I can do the surgery, but if I were you I would go to Northeast because they have much better post-op care than we do". He contacted Northeast and when I arrived the operating room staff was ready for me. This showed me that they had my best interest at heart. I would highly recommend this hospital for anything other than major problems, then I would recommend Northeast in Concord. read more

This is for the Emergency Room. I was visiting Albemarle for a wedding when a serious health question required me to go to the ER. I was extremely satisfied with the service I received at the Atrium Health Stanly ER. It was way better than the service I received not long ago from a NYC hospital ER. All of the staff members here were excellent, from the receptionist to the triage nurse, to the PA, to the 2 diagnostic techs, to the billing Rep. Everyone was friendly, thorough, efficient and made the extra effort for me. I was completely finished in 2 hours, including an examination, 2 tests, and a diagnosis from the doctor. In New York, I would not have been even first seen in that time. The tests set my mind at ease so I could enjoy the wedding 3 hours later. read more

I am new to Albemarle. I have been very ill in the past but refused to go to the ER. At 1:00 am I had a Charlie horse so I took ibuprofen. I walked around to get relief. Leg pain was replaced with level 10+ pain in below my sternum (not the first time) but this was different. I was gasping for air. I could barely talk due to the shortness of breath and weakness. Room was spinning at was clammy. My husband then insisted we go to the ER. I relented as I knew something was wrong. Things get very fuzzy when we pulled up to the ER. I do not remember getting IV's in, fluids flowing but the pain was unrelenting! Not only was I treated with the utmost respect but their ER team was absolutely AMAZING! Their attention to detail from taking my history to speaking like they were family to me was not anything I have ever experienced in an ER. From Dr. Hurley to my nurse Kiera- they wasted zero time as I apparently had a BP of 80/40, pain and shortness of breath. No heart attack detected but they left no stone unturned. I had a miscarriage, after visiting my OB right across the parking lot from the hospital for confirmation on pregnacy, and the ER dr questioned if it was just a period. yeah, after thousands of periods I got confused as to whether this was a pregnancy. AND the ER dr had already called my OB so they would have confirmed it before he even asked this. If your jaw isn't dropped, you're not human (like this jerk dr). Will travel an hour to a better hospital from now on. Never, ever, ever will I return. What a horrific experience read more
