I took my grandmother there to see Dr. Strand at the recommendation of another doctor in that group. She is in great pain & truly needs help. The front desk receptionist was very nice & so was the physician assistant. He was ok. He wasn't too friendly nor was he mean. I just have to realize that not everyone is a people person like us. He may have been tired or something being that our appointment was so late in the day. I don't know. I just expected a little more excitement when meeting a new patient...especially one who was in a great deal of pain & truly needed his help. She has to get a test done & then come back to see him again before he will do anything to help her with her pain. The point of getting referred to him was to get injections. It's clearly going to be a process to get to that point, so hopefully she can get the test done ASAP to get this ball rolling. If she finally gets relief and he helps her, I may update this review. We shall see. Note: The pain management dept. of Atlantic Ortho. is located in Wing A Suite 100 downstairs. That is for Dr. Strand & Dr. Dervay.

I have gone to multiple physical therapy places and I've seen multiple ankle doctors in my life. Atlantic is the only one who has actually helped me. Dr. Campbell is seriously a health hero. He took a Hail Mary surgery and made it so I can walk again. Then when I had issues (after 2 yrs) he knew exactly why and put me into PT to try to correct it (that's what I'm going through now, so hopefully it works!). I like that even though he is a surgeon, cutting me open wasn't his go-to cure. My only "issue" is he doesn't chit chat in the room with you. He goes very quickly. Some can take it as bad bedside manor, but it's really just because he sees so many people and is busy. Now, physical therapy. I really like the facility and all the different equipment they have. They come up with a plan just for you and they walk you through it. I also like that they don't make you sit and wait forever. When you get there, they pull you on back. It's always clean and tidy, and the atmosphere is very caring. Definitely recommend!

Entrance with a traffic light is located both on Virginia Beach Boulevard, which the buildings face, & Kempsville Road. The location is also easily accessible from I-264. The handicapped parking is extremely convenient & plentiful at the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. The spaces face the entrance & continues around each side of the building. I've never had to park in the spaces that require a short walk. A covered circular drive thru is a convenient drop off point at the main entrance. No valet parking is available. I've had therapy at Sentara Hand Therapy & Sentara Therapy Center- Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. I've had MRI's at the Advanced Imaging Center. My Shoulder & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon does outpatient surgery in the building. But my recent Elbow Surgery, although outpatient, was scheduled at the hospital itself. The practice requires anyone who has a Cardiologist to have surgery at the hospital, where emergency personnel are more easily accessible. My experience with both therapy & the MRIs has been excellent. The equipment & facility is state of the art in this excellent sparkling clean Medical Center. Technology is sophisticated, extending as far as doors being opened by a sensor activated by the wave of a palm. There are also hand sanitizer stations in plentiful supply in the building. I'm very impressed by the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. It's now my location of choice for both Physical Therapy & Advanced Imaging,

I think it was much much worse a years back, but it's actually good. The food isn't the best but it's bearable. I did love the staff. They made me feel more at home and did help me as much as they could at night. It can get really cold and I'm saying really cold like before I got there I never wore socks in the bed, but you might want to overall the day was good. The staff are nice. It's more the patience there that you would have to worry about they can be very chaotic and drama filled. They definitely do help with the mental health part, but it will not fully go away especially for me because I didn't get to stay there long. I was in acute and I was supposed to stay around five or six days but ended up staying around 10 to 12 it's not half bad and hey, we get 12 hours of sleep and it's clean. I didn't see one bug my whole day. There are a lot of young staff there though, and let's say the young staff some of them have attitudes so just stay quiet and out of the way of them they will put you on a medication they always do and if they don't well I don't know at least my first experience to It was really nice. Get better soon much love me

X-rays were quick and easy. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. After my x-rays, I walked around inside and outside to explore the campus. They have a gift shop, a sandwich shop and shops for specialized cancer care. Outside they have a beautiful garden area for sitting, eating or just relaxing. It is located behind the building across from the parking garage. It's very nice, a must see! I will return here for future testing and such. It is a wonderful facility.

There were a large number of First Atlantic Restoration vans parked in close proximity to the entrance. Allowed to go through security screening I was surprised to be turned away and sent to Brock Cancer Center, Turning into Brock Center from Kempsville Road I discovered a convenient side entrance with much closer parking than entering through the beautiful front lobby. The side entrance opened to the hall that has the entrance to Outpatient Check in, which included Bloodwork, Imaging & the Breast Center. There I learned that the problems at Leigh were caused by water pipe breaks. Many of the Leigh employees had been sent to Brock to handle the patients being sent there. I've been a fan of the Brock Imaging Center for some time. Since fewer people realize there's an Imaging Center there, appointments are more readily available. I've had MRI's, Catscans and Bone Density Scans done at Brock. The equipment is state of the art and the employees are friendly. I'll continue to have my Imaging done at Brock with an added benefit of having discovered the more convenient Kempsville side entrance.
