Lovely hotel and I really enjoy the architecture inside…read more I stayed with a GF while she was at her conference and I enjoyed the big space and open air area, along with the escalators that are in the dead-center haha Love that they're also attached to the City Center..where I was able to just head to the end and grab Gus's Fried Chicken Kudos because they have a refillable water machine too!

I was offered the chance to change rooms, which I declined. I was then told that I would receive 10,000 Bonvoy points, which I am still trying to collect. On my last day I was panhandled while sitting in the lobby. There is no prohibition from anyone walking into the hotel from the street. The area immediately around the hotel is a little depressing; very dark, and a lot of homeless people. Watch out for the Waymos! I had a great view from the 18th floor, and food service was consistently excellent. I had no problem catching an Uber when it was time to go to the airport. A very long wait (half an hour) to check in. Most of the staff was very pleasant and hospitable, if not always knowledgeable. I stayed at the hotel for NAMICon, which was a great experience. However, I was promised a discounted rate (approximately $250 a night), which wasn't really a discount. I only received housekeeping service one day while I was there (for four days). The Marquis is definitely showing its age. I wasn't able to take the elevator to floors other than my own, but I COULD take the stairs. A pretty easy security work-around. I didn't try the pool, although it looked inviting. The fitness room was great, and very popular at 5:45 in the morning. This is the largest hotel in the state of Georgia, and I kept getting lost. I enjoyed my room: great bed, lots of space to store my clothes, and a nice table for working and eating.

From the moment I arrived at Hyatt Centric Midtown Atlanta, ZEE at the front desk made me feel genuinely welcomed, comfortable, and safe. His professionalism, kindness, and warm hospitality immediately put me at ease, and I truly appreciated the exceptional service he provided. It's within walking distance of great restaurants, coffee shops, and a CVS, making everything incredibly convenient. A special thank you as well to Noel for helping me print all of the documents I needed for my billing. Your assistance made my work trip so much easier. I'd also like to give a shout-out to the rest of the staff. Every single person I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Well, where to start here. I suppose I will go into the check in/room first. We showed up kind of…read moreearly in the day, but they were well aware of our arrival. Even though we were early they had rooms available for us to check into. Being here for a conference they had a room block set aside. With a room block, you would think that when we checked in, we would all be kind of in the same area. For the four of us that were here early, that was not the case, everyone in our party, but me, were placed in the main tower. Rooms with balconies, decent views, straight shot to the conference area. Me, I got the International Tower, a walk from everything in the hotel. Yes, it kind of connects to the conference portion of the hotel, but it is a hefty walk through corridors that aren't always free of people. Get to my room and I do a quick onceover, no balcony like my reservation confirmation stated. Wouldn't have mattered anyway, I could barely get to the window to close the curtains for sleeping. The awkward couch was awkwardly in front of the window. Felt like this might have been put there as an afterthought. As for the rest of the onceover, I noticed a few more things. The drawers in the dresser were iffy. One was visibly broken, but surprisingly the one that actually worked well on the track. The other drawers were not as easy to pull out. The outlet in the desk area, did not work in the least. I had to reach the plug to the wall. The fridge, not the biggest. The bathroom, water pressure wasn't great. Also, regulating the water temperature was like being a sorcerer. There would be days that it would be fine. There would be days where you would have to put the temp all the way up to hot to get decent temp. Then, there are days that you would have to have it completely cold and still be scalded. Don't get me started about changing between tub and shower. The wall button does not really work much. Now, for the conference portion. They were absolutely amazing. They took care of everything. The rooms were well maintained and readily usable. I honestly could not complain too much about this. But there are a few complaints, but they should not overshadow the service we received. Where we had our information desk for our conference we were positioned very close to where there garage was. This wouldn't have been too bad, but the one door to exit rarely stayed closed. Constantly letting in exhaust fumes from the garage area. Then there was the bat that was flying around the one area we had in use. And, let's just say that the unhoused can and do make their way into the hotel and hide in places that aren't always watched. Some of them do unsavory things. There was something about this hotel too that made me go a little wacky. Not crazy, but this building messed with my ears to the point where I could not hear anything for a good part of a day. I'm not sure if it were allergies, or the mixture of fumes and the way the elevators really flew up and down. I could only get my hearing back by taking a cocktail of over-the-counter medications. After being here for over a week, I was ready to head out. I actually came to love the fact I was in the opposite tower. It gave me time to explore how to traverse this hotel without going through the lobby. It also gave me solitude after long days making sure the conference ran correctly. The amenities were kind of cool, the pool area was a nice oasis. Then to find the hidden smoke sections were a godsend, another oasis unto their own. Overall, I could overlook the room not being up to standard, because this became a home away from home.

Unfortunately, this review falls squarely in the latter category. I'm making an exception today because this was, hands down, the worst hotel stay I've ever had--especially shocking coming from a Residence Inn. Where do I even begin? From the moment I arrived, the service was atrocious. There's a sign instructing guests to press a button for entry if they haven't checked in yet--fine, understandable. What's not acceptable is having to push that button ten times while watching the front desk rep blatantly ignore me. I could see them, and they simply refused to acknowledge my presence. When I was finally let in and checking in, I had to remind the front desk staff to give me the complimentary water I'm entitled to as an Elite member. You'd think loyalty would be met with at least basic courtesy. Think again. Now let's talk about the room: dirty. Plain and simple. The walls and doors were scuffed, stained, and screaming for a fresh coat of paint--clearly neglected. For a property carrying the Residence Inn name, this room was far below standard. Then there's the blatant parking scam. Valet is $40 a night--no self-parking available through the hotel. If you want to self-park, you're forced to use a lot across the building, where the sign (inexplicably) says "$18 up to 1440 minutes." 1440 minutes is 24 hours, so I parked at 3 PM Saturday and checked out before 11 AM Sunday--far less than 24 hours. Guess what? Still charged full price, but for two days (totaling $36). Who even posts parking rates by minutes? Absurd. When I called the front desk to speak to a manager, I was told there was no manager or supervisor available until the next day. Unacceptable. And when I brought up the parking issue, I was met with a shrug: "We're not responsible for that lot." Really? Here's a tip for Residence Inn management--if you force customers to use a specific parking option due to your lack of alternatives, you own that experience. Like it or not, perception is reality. And the reality is, this hotel is happy to charge like a premium brand but deliver like a discount motel. In summary: poor service, dirty room, price gouging, and a complete lack of accountability. I truly hope this review saves someone else the regret of staying here. I will never return to this location, and if this is any indication of how Residence Inn is run now, I may rethink my loyalty altogether. One star is too generous!

This property goes around third party companies and charges your card FULLY for the stay without your consent!!! First it happened through Booking.com and I thought it was Booking.com's fault and my card turned down the large transaction without my okay. Then I switched to Expedia. This time, I didn't realize it, but they charged me for the full amount again and when I became sick with 102.5 temperature and influenza A the night before the stay, it was past the 3pm deadline. I called and the front desk said they would try to make an exception of not refunding first night's stay. I wouldn't normally push for it but: 1. Catching the flu is way out of my control and 2. They already broke the contract by charging me the day I booked instead of when I arrived as promised by Expedia. It looks like a beautiful place to stay but please don't judge a book by its cover. Even if you are planning to pay for your stay all up front, I would be concerned about the deceitful practice of going around the third party companies and gathering personal information separately. ****And Booking.com and Expedia.com take note of this property because they are sending messages to gather credit card information and charge the full stay amount.

I would definitely stay again since it is steps away from our shop.
