I'm really disappointed with how my cancellation was handled. I completely understand that…read morebusinesses need cancellation policies, and I respect that. However, I had to cancel my appointment because I was actively vomiting and had a fever. I contacted the salon because I genuinely could not come in and also did not feel it would be responsible to expose the nail tech or other clients to an illness. Despite explaining the situation, I was charged the full amount of the service and was told they would not make an exception. I even would have understood being offered a credit toward a future appointment, since I fully intended to return once I was feeling better, but that was not an option either. I understand that this may be their policy, but I think potential clients should be aware that, in my experience, the policy was enforced at 100% even in the case of sudden illness with vomiting and a fever. I'm disappointed there wasn't any flexibility or consideration given to the circumstances. When I was there last time they were talking about how they don't close for snow and then they charge people if they don't show up to the spot. Also all they do is talk about their coworkers behind their back. Very unprofessional mean girls.

I've tried several…read morein the past few years since moving to southern NH, and I've either had really bad styles, poor customer service, or paid high end salon prices. I learned about this salon from a client at my own job - she is an employee there. I decided to go in and check out their menu of services on my lunch break. Prices seemed reasonable, so I called and booked my appointment. I had checked out all of the stylists online and had hoped to be booked with Kristen M. as luck would have it, that's exactly who I got! She was very friendly and welcoming. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and actually said she was reluctant to do a service until my color grew out, stating it would make my hair unhealthy and she didn't want to be responsible. I appreciated her honesty and concern. I got the best cut and color from her and was thrilled with the price. My color has held up well and looks natural - just the way I like it. Kristen took the time to ensure I walked away loving my look! In observing other stylists while waiting under the dryers, they seem talented, too. It's not a salon with a lot of frills, though it's very clean and inviting. They have a separate nail area. I loved that I could tip on my credit card. So many places require cash tips now. This makes it easy and allows me to tip a bit more generously, as I rarely have cash. They offer coffee, tea, etc. I recently had my second cut with Kristen and was equally pleased with the results! It was also like sitting and chatting with an old friend. She gives pretty awesome scalp massages during the wash, too! They don't hard sell products like many salons I have been to. Brought our teenaged daughter here for a cut and she loved her hairstyle as well! So happy to have found a consistent, friendly, reasonable and exceptional salon!!

I do…read morenot remember the type of pedicure that I had (they have several options) but when I left, I was thoroughly pleased with the time spent. Every other time that I have had a pedicure, it was at one of those malls places with the Korean men/woman who do not speak english and it is always a little uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I like to read a 6 week old Cosmo as much as the next girl but there is something to be said for sitting in a chair for over an hour and having someone to talk to. The woman (which for the life of me, I cannot remember her name) had most of the same interests that I do (working on cars, etc.) and we slipped into an easy conversation. I even had a new issue of Cottage Living if she left the room!! I did not see them clean the foot bath, which was a little bit of a disappointment. And in hind sight, I should have asked them to clean it in front of me. The pedicure itself last for about an hour and a half, including a foot massage, several gooey things applied and washed off, a foot mask (wow), and super tasty smelling lotion applied to my feet. I wish that my feet would have dried a little faster as they were a little slippery when I left. Otherwise, the pedicure itself was a fine experience. As for Skin Solutions as a business, I do appreciate their weekly emails with available appointments and info for monthly specials. I also received a certificate for a free massage/facial, which I did not get to use before it expired, but it was nice to receive. They also had a contest not so long ago that you were able to enter a friend/coworker/etc. into and they would win something. I entered a coworker and she received a certificate for a free massage/facial as well!! Over all, I would recommend Skin Solutions for their environment, very down to earth staff and freebies!!
