The hotel is authentic traditional Sevilla and the staff are very accommodating. The rooms are very spacious and everything is clean. The inside courtyard of the hotel is filled with the scents of flowers and filled with greenery and spaces to sit read or mingle. Also shopping and attractions are within walking distance and the weather during late November is cool but with a shawl and good jacket and layers you'll be fine. Don't leave without having traditional thick hot chocolate and churros! The rooftop lounge is open for breakfast, dinner and drinks. I highly recommend this small hotel and all the restaurants around it. This place is marvelous!

In fact, we actually received a passive aggressive note on our door requesting that we come down for a scolding because we accidentally spilled some tomato sauce on a sheet. Oh yeah, and when I tried to access the "rooftop bar" I got yelled at by a worker to get off. Crap service, crap attitudes, no microwaves in the rooms, tiny fridge (don't pay for the garbage in there), simply crap all around. Just don't bother if you can make other accommodations. PS: nothing is complimentary-we were charged for two cups of coffee (from about a week before) upon checkout...and the male employee tried to convince us that we had also had a breakfast-lol at you, dummy, as I'm vegan and couldn't eat the food. Penny pinching fools.

One of the loveliest places we stayed during our 2-week trip to Spain & Portugal. We booked an…read moreapartment for the 4 of us. It was a gorgeous hotel and beautiful room, situated a couple blocks away from the main Poeta, right in the heart of the city center. When we checked in, they gave us a welcome glass of cava in their beautiful courtyard. Our apartment had a large bedroom with queen bed, big living room with two twin beds off that room separated by a curtain, balcony, huge kitchen, and they provided a large bowl of fruit which we re-stocked during our stay from the local markets. Rick Steves says Poeta "captures the essence of Sevilla," and is "timeless elegance, in the heart of Santa Cruz, an old 17th century family mansion; tucked away among cobblestone streets; 17 rooms surround a tranquil central patio where guests relax and enjoy free evening classical guitar concerts. Fantastic view terrace and traditional Andalusian design." Totally agree with all of that. We enjoyed the classical Spanish guitar in the courtyard each evening while enjoying a glass of wine or cava. Absolutely recommend and would love to stay here on every future visit to Sevilla. Great service, too. Carmen, who checked us in was so calm and welcoming. It had been a hectic travel day, and she (or maybe it was the glass of cava?) calmed us right down. The next day, we had an issue w/ our tickets to the Alcazar, and Jose helped us retrieve them, too. Our bathroom was beautiful, but the floor of the shower was very slippery. We informed the front desk, and they sent someone to our room when we were out. My younger daughter, who does not speak much Spanish, let him in, but did not understand what he was saying. He proceeded to pantomime someone slipping. She woke up our older daughter, who speaks more Spanish, and said a man with a clipboard was in the living room. She told him: "Mi padre es loco," he laughed and put some non-slip strips down in the shower. Great stay.

Ton of nearby restaurants and bars, yet in a secluded street away from the noise. Live musical entertainment every night at 7:30PM in the courtyard. Solid breakfast buffet with eggs, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruits and juices, smoked salmon and more. Nicely appointed rooms with impeccable customer service. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Ana (see photo) who greeted us and checked us in was a rock star - kind, informative, enthusiastic about Seville, and set the tone for a perfect, albeit too short, stay. Danny (see photo) was also fantastic -- also welcoming, obviously loves his job, and added to our great experience. There was also a lovely fellow that took the luggage to the room and unfortunately, I don't recall his name. I want to make sure I recognize him for also being excellent in terms of service and being a warm, welcoming fellow. The Jr suite was fantastic. Wonderful in every way. Stocked mini bar. Great coffee. Comfortable bed. Nice lounging area with big television. The shower had a bathtub with lots of hot water and was just really laid out very well. The terrace was a nice addition as well, although it was very hot so we did not spend much time there. Elevators were quick and the room was extremely clean and good value! This is a first class hotel and should definitely be on your need to stay here list when you get to Seville. Thanks to the great staff for taking good care of us!
