Her patience in scheduling appointments is amazing even when patients' personal schedules are hard to work with. I've seen Brittany, Val and Stacey for physical therapy. All 3 of these young ladies are accomplished in knowing human physiology. They know their patients extremely well and can predict when I'm going to be challenged or not challenged with my therapy exercises. Their caring personalities is what keeps me coming back! Thanks to all for giving me the support and guidance I need.

Without exception the physical therapists genuinely care about their patients and do their best to improve each person's condition. The techs are also very friendly and make sure their patients do all their exercises correctly and effectively. The receptionist is very efficient in scheduling appointments and keeping everything running smoothly. One additional plus is Bayside's Health and Wellness program. When your health insurance company says you're done with official PT, you have the option of continuing your path to wellness with Sarah, Bayside's certified trainer. She determines what exercise program will work best for you, and then works with you individually to help you reach your goals. She is wonderful in creating specific exercises that match your abilities, while also encouraging you to stretch beyond your current capabilities. For these reasons I'll keep coming back to Bayside PT.

I was told she was working in another office the day of my appointment; so I had to see the doctor instead. And he released me prematurely, stating that my broken bone was healed. However, a follow-up with a doctor outside that practice indicated that I broke two bones instead if one, and neither was healed. I should have sued (since Bay Area took x-rays at every appointment).

My son took a form in to be filled out by the office for his compampys leave group. Keep in mind I work for the same company and have had my doctors fill the form out in 10 seconds in front of me. My son will not get paid until the form is complete and he was seen in there office already 10 days ago. The receptionist says it will take seven to ten business days and no one else will fill it out using the notes from the chart and the doctor has other patients and other forms. It must be nice to not have to worry about income. That now it will be 17 to 20 days without getting paid and that means no food no gas. You would think during a pandemic people would be a little more compassionate. I will remember this the next time we pick a orthopedic practice. Absolutely rude and ridiculous.

Herein is a personal review of a visit to Bay Area Orthopedics, 7467 Ridge Road, Hanover MD. I…read morereiterate that the subsequent verbiage represents my less than desired experience. In a previous visit (some three years ago), I saw Dr. Bigby (relocated) regarding fluid on a knee, the withdrawal of some of the same, and a steroidal injection. I appeared today, 01/30/2026, to visit Dr. Emeka Nwodim for a reocurring complaint (i.e., happening a second time, not repeatedly). TOPIC: X-Rays The X-ray technician captured images of both knees, and I returned to Room #8. DISCUSSION: The physician stated that my arthritis was mild. He did not recommend withdrawal of any fluid; rather, he proposed an injection. I inquired why the fluid should not be withdrawn given that it happened with the previous orthopedist. He responded that bodily fluids are analogous to a vehicular engine that needs oil to remain lubricated. I inquired if the arthritis were any more pronounced in my right knee, given that he had not produced/shown me any of the images. He then summoned the X-ray technician to bring a laptop to show me the photos. PREFERRED COURSE OF ACTION: ... to have shared the images of both knees, drawing comparisons to how the arthritis was/was was not in my last visit to this same office, along with recommendations of therapeutic approaches and exercises to do to alleviate the pain I expressed. TOPIC: Questioning the Withdrawal of Fluid DISCUSSION: I again inquired why the withdrawal of the fluid was not a recommended course of action. He again provided the analogy of cars' engines and the need for lubrication. I responded that this statement "... did not make sense ..." to me given that each time there was an increase amount of fluid as evident by the puffiness on my knees, there was a higher level of discomfort/pain. Redundantly, I expressed that the previous physician did withdraw the fluid, and I attributed said and immediate relief to the same, not necssarily to the injection of a steroid. Dr. Nwodim then stated that he does this everyday, and I do not. He further said that he sensed that I did not believe him. I responded that I sensed that he was not comfortable with my line of questions, that he does not do this process everyday with me, and more importantly, I needed to ascertain that I comprehended the change in course as I would not have the benefit of his expertise after leaving his office. PREFERRED COURSE OF ACTION: ... to have found alternative words, phrases, and syntax to explain his medical/professional/biological position to arrive at a point of understanding. I, too, have a terminal degree and know that it is incumbent upon me, the professional in my field, to be sufficiently articulate to explain to clients aspects of my knowledge, that is not readily or daily encountered by others. TOPIC: Referrals for physical therapy and at-home exercises DISCUSSION: There was no discussion regarding either of the aforementioned topics between the physician and me. The receptionist, as I was checking out, inquired where I may want to do the physical therapy. I responded that the physician and I had no such discussions. He stated that he anticipated that he felt the injection solely would address my concerns and that a follow-up appointment would not be needed. The receptionist then asked that I wait a few moments for her to call him to get more information. She then conveyed that neither was necessary. He reportedly stated that I could use the referrals/information if I deemed them necessary PREFERRED COURSE OF ACTION: ... to have shared all future/possible actions and related benefits with me as opposed to communicating through a third party. -End of Review-
