After a bad fall and resulting rotate a tear injury, I was prescribed six weeks of physical therapy and decided to do that at ATI. I did tell the staff when I started that I was also recuperating from spine surgeries that I had had recently which limited the amount of movements that I could do relative to bending and twisting.
Initially, I found the staff warm and helpful. However, without warning in the middle of the fifth session, the supposed physical therapist told me that she didn't think I would benefit any more from Physical Therapy because of my level of pain. I told her I felt actually like I was benefiting, but she insisted that it really wasn't worth my time and that I should probably just go onto consider surgery. She did not consult with my surgeon. In fact, none of what she was saying was thoroughly unexpected, especially since the previous week she had told me that I should get my doctor to add on physical therapy for my back and she'd be happy to help me with that too
I contacted my my surgeon At Rothman, who was shocked to find that a physical therapist would've decided that after only three weeks that Physical Therapy wouldn't have helped me when often people with my injury go to physical therapy for up to six months. I procured different prescription from them and went elsewhere.
I found this whole experience, demoralizing, insulting, and unprofessional
