Physical Therapy... Hickman Rd., Waukee IA... Their charges are beyond outrageous. I have had 2…read morevisits and cancelled the 3rd when I saw the claim for the 1st visit... I was charged $398 for the initial 25-30 minute appointment where we discussed my simple shoulder strain and subsequent treatment. I was shown 2 exercises to do on my own at home. The 2nd appointment was 20 minutes, 20 MINUTES, and I just saw the claim... $287. WHAT!!! I have medical insurance and the negotiated rate is slightly less... $313 and $228, respectively, which will go toward my deductible... So I'm expected to pay $541 for very, very little in terms of actual therapy, i.e. exercises performed on equipment at the facility, treatment provided by the therapist, etc. Paying this much money for instructions for super simple exercises to do on my own is ridiculous. I am going to do some research on who to contact at the local news channels to start a conversation about these unbelievable rates. Absolute Performance charges $120 w/o insurance for 40 MINUTES of actual equipment usage and instruction/massage by a physical therapist. I AM IN SHOCK...
