Liz the owner is super friendly and very welcoming. She taught a class while I just did my own workout. All the equiptment is nice and new and well kept. While I wasn't in the class I can tell Liz is very knowledgeable and keeps the class fun. Plus you can't beat the view from the rower! There are weights in each space, so with these two spaces, there was little to no waiting for any machines or weights at any time. The change rooms were also very tidy and clean. But the best part was the staff. Every time I went in, they were kind, courteous and always professional. A special shout out to Liam, David and Sarah for your enthusiasm and smiles. I only went in to use the free weights, they had everything I need. Also saw that they had plenty of machines for those that prefer to train that way as well as a nice looking pool and a range of classes which the day pass also allows you to use. The day pass costs $15 for the full day. Lockers are available. Would definitely recommend the gym to fellow tourists.

There are a slew of great props and a changing room. The class was made for everyone, with lots of clear instrution. There are classes many times of day and lots of instructors...easy to fine your fit. Students are encouraged to listen to and respect their bodies. Lovely yoga studio in Canmore, located on the main street of the town (which also happens to be…read morecalled Main Street, ha!). It's a flight of stairs from street level, but the view from the studio is simply breathtaking. Different types of yoga are taught, and teachers all have their expertise. Even though one can get used to the sight of the snow-capped Rockies after a few weeks in the region, nobody can really stay cold to the mountain panorama that can be seen through a ceiling-high window. Make sure to come to a class that starts before sunset so you can fully enjoy the view! The studio is small and cozy, which makes the practice much more calming, and the hardwood floor adds a homely touch to the whole studio. If you're more of an outdoors person, teachers often offer outdoors classes directly on the mountains, especially in the summer. As for any yoga studio, drop-in class fees are $18, and there is no student discount. There is a monthly trial package if you're new to the studio, but since you won't be disappointed, the best deal is obviously the yearly subscription. Mat rentals are cheap ($1). Events like the biathlon and cross-country skiing took place here. They have exhibits near the dining hall with all sorts of memorabilia from those Olympics games. Today, the trails at Canmore Nordic Centre are used for hiking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing. This is a really nice facility to check out. Inside the day lodge are restrooms with showers, a cafe, and a dining area. Canmore Nordic Centre is also used for private events like weddings, meetings and other special events. Canmore Nordic Centre is located west of Canmore at the foot of Mount Rundle. My running group brought us here to run our last trail run for the week. It was a challenging run, but I enjoyed the beautiful views along the way. It was cool to see the flags on display next to the lodge from the different countries that competed in the Olympics. We got to run between them at the conclusion of our run. I even stood on top of the podium for photos after receiving my medal. Afterwards, we relaxed in the lodge and ate a buffet lunch in the dining area. Overall, this was a fun memorable visit. It was fun to take part in a competition on the same grounds that previous Olympians competed on. I would love to come back during winter and do some skiing here someday.

In winter they offer ski rentals, passes and lessons. They also have a cafe available for food and beverages and plenty of seatingin the lodge. There's a large private parking lot as well. The information desk is helpful for trail closures and wildlife advisories. You can also check their website beforehand for events and such. This facility was developed in 1986 to host the 1988 Winter Olympics. We loved seeing the row of country flags.
