I guess it is one of my favorite spots in London now. Full of bright colors, it is a small alley just off Covent Gardens and has pretty and colorful buildings, with shops and cafes. picturesque and very hippy style, which is actually some kind of "reflection" of the person who created Neal's Yard. See, its the thing, when you don't expect it and that is surprisingly beautiful- it was the same case with Neal's Yard. and not everyone will say that - 'hey going to London, do visit this small courtyard' . Nope, it was all part of my research... , It's only about 5 minutes from Covent Garden market, and there are two alleyways that lead to it, but they're not particularly easy to spot: one is via Monmouth Street and the other is via Short's Gardens, which is just off Neal Street. A short wander through Seven Dials and you'll be greeted by all the quaint restaurants, famous shops, and vibrant ambiance that makes this London spot one for the books Indulge in one of the many stylish and yummy storefronts on offer, serving everything from organic goods to a fresh mani-pedi! With buildings creating a triangular courtyard, it's a small location for a few restaurants and shops. There are some great spots to try here particularly if you're in the mood for breakfast, a tasty donut or pizza, but this isn't necessarily a destination in and of itself. The buildings are beautiful and colorful, but I would not make this a destination to visit. Rather, if you find yourself in the area, you can take a few minutes to walk through!

Staying in London for a week and needed a pampering. Lucked out with finding Anya Spa!…read more Amy did a great job of my Shellac manicure (£25). Could have used a little bit more cuticle work but overall, she was a skilled manicurist and speedy without compromising the job. I loved that I didn't have to share the polish color wheels with other tables, which meant I could hum and haw over my color choices while she started working. That made the choice so much less stressful and for once, I didn't walk out of a manicure regretting my color choice! After watching Munni thread multiple women's brows, I had her thread and dye mine (£5+7). It was the first time for me so I can't give a comparison review but I can say that it was fast and relatively painless. She was friendly and informative -- I felt like my brows were in safe hands! I am seriously excited about not having to fill in my brows for the next week! Plus, no awful breakouts like when I get them waxed. The only issue I had was that the two nail techs kept sharing the cuticle tools. Maybe it's not regulated in England but in the US, nail salons have to sanitize all tools for every client.

I'm rubbish at remembering to book and what impresses me is every time I come I always manage to get in! Perfect for someone who lurks to be spontaneous. Treatment wise I've only tried the massages and threading. I'm not a massive fan of threading, but they did a good job and were friendly enough. The massages are what keep me coming back. The Thai massage is insane! The therapist really get rid of the knots and if you're suffering with back pain, it's a must! The Chinese massage is pretty good and I recently got cupping at the same time, which really helped with the pain in my neck and pain. If you're nearby, call in and see for yourself!

Five clear, shiny, bright stars for Elizabeth!…read more A real conversation that happened to me after seeing Elizabeth a few times... Man at breakfast table next to me: :::strikes up conversation::: Oh so what do you do? Me: Oh, I do this and that and this and that, etc etc. Man: Wow, that's a big job for someone who's what... 26? Me: It's actually my 33rd birthday today, but even if you are just being polite I will absolutely take it as a birthday gift. Man: No really, I might be getting old (he wasn't that old) but you look really young. Me: :::::THANK YOU ELIZABETH at LPA!::::::: *he was not creepy either, and was not hitting on me. Even better! I came to Elizabeth over the summer totally frustrated with the state of my face. I had basically in the midst of a breakout for what felt like a YEAR. A year. I was at my wits end. I had been to another clinic and felt like I got swindled. I was caking gross makeup on every day and I hated looking in the mirror. I needed someone to just get down to business. And Elizabeth did just that. The consummate professional she assessed the problem, didn't promise a miracle, got me on some ph-focused skin products, mineral makeup only (sold at the clinic!) and set me up with a package of chemical peels. (3 of them). I was a bit wary as I'd never had a peel but always being game for a beauty treatment and wanting desperately to fix this near constant state of flare on my face, I agreed and paid up. (Its not cheap but it's your face - invest). I finished my round of peels in late October and I can safely (fingers crossed) say that my skin has been almost 100 percent clear since then. It did take a few months for the products and peels to work their magic, but they DID. Coupled with some changes in diet, etc -- so far, SOLVED. Thank the Lord! Some pro-tips for peels -- does what it says on the tin, your whole face peels off basically. If you can plan it so you don't need to be anywhere super special for 5-10 days after, that would be wise. There is about a 2 day period where its very noticeable and you won't want to be walking the catwalk or anything. Other than that its able to be managed and once it's all peeled off you'll feel about 10 years younger with that fresh asf face of yours. Thank you dear Elizabeth. If you are looking for someone to treat your face like a canvas, Elizabeth is your woman. The clinic is great too -- I've also been in for acupuncture and some alternative therapies. Never disappointed and super convenient location between Old Street and Barbican on Whitecross Street.

I woke up one morning some number of months ago and could barely get out of bed because my lower…read moreback was in so much pain. I'm still unclear whether or not I caused some trauma to it, or just sleeping on a craptastic bed for so many months had finally caught up with me. At any rate, I went about my everyday daily life, expecting that after a week or two I'd recover. Sadly, that didn't happen. In fact, a few -months- went by and my back was still bothering me. Some days were better; others... well... weren't. Enter: Graham Stones. At a recommendation from Larissa, and after seeing his Yelp ads on the site for awhile, I finally booked a physio session with him at the Light Centre. Upon my first visit, he asked some diagnostic questions before having me stand up. He placed his hand atop my head like you see the special religious people do before declaring, "You be healed!" He didn't actually say that, but somehow he was able to determine what my back needed and set to work pulverizing the pain. One session in (and many inappropriate grunts and moans from me as Graham unknotted my back), I was feeling much better. Three sessions later and a lot of self-care with the yoga poses Graham suggested, I was completely back to normal. Lemme tell you, not being in constant discomfort is priceless! The long and short of it is this: Graham Stones is the back whisperer. If you need a physio, look no further.

Have you got muscular pain?…read more Have you spent £20 on a 'massage' at Walk-In Backrub and promptly regretted it? Do you want someone to target your pain and beat your muscles into submission? Then Graham is the massage therapist for you. 'Cause this ain't your grandma's back massage. I've spent many an hour lying on Graham's massage table, whimpering and crying like a baby, as he managed to find the exact spot on my body wherein hellfire and brimstone furtively resided, waiting to be uncovered and unleashed onto the world with one poke of Graham's capable and unyielding ninja fingers. No, seriously, this man is THE BUSINESS, and I highly recommend him. He managed to cure my chronic shoulder pain over a course of treatments, and he was totally honest about the fact that he didn't WANT me to be a habitual customer. Sure, it might be better for him monetarily if I came in every week, week-on-week, indefinitely, but once I got to feeling better, that was the end of our masochistic relationship. That is, until many months later when the hellfire returned elsewhere in my body, hiding this time somewhere in the nether regions of my hips. I knew what needed to be done... I have an appointment with Graham later in the week during which I have no doubt he will be as brutal and satisfying a massage professional as ever. I can't think of another person I'd rather pay to hurt me so good.
