At the time, I had no idea how they would repair it as I knew nothing about cars. I was at the mercy of the mechanics and had no other choice but to trust them. What an expensive mistake that turned out to be. They had the car for 2 weeks and called me to pick it up. I went and paid $1917.74. That would also include two batteries. The main battery and the start stop battery. I'm not sure what it's called. I had never had any trouble with my main battery but bought a new one anyway. They said they replaced the transmission fluid cooler and flushed the lines. They put a new resovoir in stating that the tranmission fluid would seep into the plastic, which the resovoir is made of. They replaced the transmission fluid with 6 quarts of transmission fluid. After getting an alignment and new tires not from there, though, as they don't do alignments and the tire guy was in the hospital. Within a few hours of driving the car ,it started doing the same thing. I looked in my coolant resovoir, and sure enough,it was full of transmission fluid. I so happened to be close to them, so I took it back in, and they said they would flush the lines more. This is about the time I started researching everything and anything I could read about why transmission fluid was leaking into my coolant. This is a little of what I found. 1)Your radiator is leaking internally, leaking transmission fluid from the transmission fluid cooler into the radiator where the coolant is.You can't fix it, just get the radiator replaced and then flush the coolant.Your radiator is leaking internally, leaking transmission fluid from the transmission fluid cooler into the radiator where the coolant is. 2) If you are getting transmission fluid in your coolant, you are getting coolant into your transmission. You will need to replace the radiator and flush your cooling and transmission systems to remove the contaminants from both systems. You can't fix it. Just get the radiator replaced and then flush the coolant. 3)All of the answers are correct. You have transmission oil from the radiator leaking into the cooling system. It is also correct that the best fix is to replace the radiator. It is necessary to flush the residual oil out of the cooling system. An oil film on the engine block metal will reduce heat transfer. After installing the radiator, the cooling system should be flushed." I could post for several days of the same comments and answers about how to repair transmission fluid getting into the coolant resovoir. I got the answers in a few different places. Now, back to the story....two weeks later, they called and said my car was ready. I went down to pick it up. They didn't charge me to flush the lines as it was complimentary. How nice. I decided to pop the hood and look at my resovoir before leaving. Guess what? Transmission fluid all in my resovoir. I told him , the guy behind the desk, and he kept saying it would be ok. With all I had read, I knew it was not ok. It would rust parts of the engine, and transmission fluid will eat up so to speak the plastic tubing and the seals. This can lead to permanent damage to the car. I finally told him it was not ok and asked him why they didn't repair my car it the first time. He informed me he was trying to save us money. I informed him I wasn't there to save money. I was there to get my car repaired. He said to leave it there, so I did. For three weeks. I I finally called to check on it, and a mechanic told me the mechanic that was working on it was getting a parts list made up. Three weeks to make a parts list! Shortly after sending an email, they called and said the new repair would be $3700.00. I had my car towed home. Will have it towed to another auto repair shop. The cost of a transmission cooler and a resovoir, which, by the way, supposeedly came brand new and came with a resovoir cap they charged me $21.95 for one. My email mentioned this, but I have got no response as of yet. I was told to call the owner when I was given the $3700.00 quote by the receptionist. When I asked her about the $1917.74, I had already paid minus the two batteries, which left me paying $1533.00 The cover to the motor is nowhere to be found. I'll call them and ask where it might be. I'll leave some pics below. Go to L & M Motors if you wish, but don't say I haven't warned you!

All the stars. My…read moreinitial visit was just to order tires and get an old valve stem replaced. I'm really impressed. Miss Hannah is the exact kind of person that you should have working in the front. She was very kind, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I was just "window shopping" to buy tires later, but she was so good and low pressure that I decided to buy them that day. Staff and service like this are the kind that make me loyal and convinced me to spend a little more than I would have getting similar tires from a wholesaler. It's all about service and peace of mind. She called later to let me know the tire was ready. As hectic and busy is it was, she must have some kind of superpower to multi task and still attend to the person in front of her. I'm new to town, so this first visit was pretty important and it was really great. Instead of a recommendation; I can say that I'm glad that I came here. I came back for install and alignment, and held off on my review until then. In addition to the nice staff up front, the guys doing the install and alignment were great! They kept me advised, gave me a few options along the way, and were super helpful. Matlock-Athens has exceeded my high expectations which were based on a few local friends recommending Matlock. The old Jeep like a primitive dune buggy with all of the personality and quirks without any pesky modern amenities or safety features. Held together mostly with bailing wire, bubble gum, and hope. I need a place like Matlock to be able to enjoy it in the summer and still be able to be able to keep it on the road! These old CJs are notoriously squirrelly and suffer from a common condition known as "death wobble." Not anymore, the alignment was reasonable and makes it a lot safer. I went with an unorthodox choice that isn't the classic tire. They ordered the Coopers for me and I'm satisfied. I recommend Matlock for the whole experience. Form, function, fit, & feel. They make a fierce cup of coffee, too, which I really appreciated at 8am.

Wonderful experience!! Treated like family, outstanding service for a fair price!…read more HIGHLY recommend Matlock Tire !!
