Doonan Tax Services are the only tax professionals i will recommend to my family and friends. they make what can sometimes be a stressful part of the year absolutely painless. they had me in and out fairly quickly and they were very knowledgeable. they were able to answer all the questions i asked regarding my taxes. i go as soon as i get my tax documents in the mail and the turn around time for when they call to let me know they have been completed is fantastic. they don't request payment until you get your results so that you are free to go somewhere else if you choose to for whatever reason at no charge. very fair, quick, and professional. can't say enough good things about this business!

I had the worst experience of my life at this accounting office. I came in to get my taxes done and…read morewas immediately asked how much I had paid my previous accountant. After I answered, they told me, "Here, we charge a minimum of $600. You should go back to Washington Heights--it will be cheaper there." As a Dominican woman, I found this comment deeply offensive. I explained that I didn't mind paying more if my taxes were done properly, but the tone and attitude made it clear I was being stereotyped and judged based on where I'm from. The manager tried to apologize and insisted that I was not denied service because of my nationality but by then, the damage was done. I felt humiliated, disrespected, and unwelcome. I ended up in tears. No one should ever have to feel discriminated against, especially when seeking professional services. Discrimination has no place in business, and I hope this office reflects seriously on how they treat people from different backgrounds. I left feeling judged, not for who I am as a client, but for where I come from--and that is unacceptable

We have worked with Chris for several years for both our personal and business tax filings, which…read moremakes this year's experience even more unacceptable. Despite numerous emails, text messages, and phone calls leading up to the tax deadline, we received no response. Our taxes were not prepared or filed on time, with zero communication or warning. After the deadline had already passed, Chris contacted my husband stating that our return had "slipped through the cracks" and assured us it would be completed that same night. It was not. What followed was even more concerning - continued silence. Multiple follow-ups from us went completely unanswered, with no updates, no delivery of promised documents, and no accountability. Failing to meet a critical deadline is already a serious issue. Failing to communicate with clients before and after that deadline is inexcusable. This was not a minor oversight - it reflects a fundamental lack of professionalism, reliability, and respect for clients. We had trusted Chris for years and referred several friends and family members to him. In hindsight, that trust was misplaced, and those referrals are something we now deeply regret. Based on our experience, we would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. We no longer consider Chris to be a reliable or trustworthy professional.

Everett was of course very nice the first time, so he can earn our business. He promised to always be available if we need anything or have any questions and this held true 1 time. A month after doing business and not receiving the proper tax refund, my husband and I have been trying to call constantly and no answer. It was so bad we got worried and thought something bad had happened to the guy. One day I decided to call from a different phone number (one he wouldn't recognize) and all of a sudden he answers. When he found out who it was, he said he was really busy but would call back. Weeks later, NOTHING. SIR, half of the tax refund we were guaranteed is missing. Did you take it? Did you mess up? Why is it so difficult to get ahold of you now. Will never do business here again and will recommend everyone I know to stay away from this tiny scammy office!
