I ordered an outdoor candle for pick-up and wasn't able to pick it up within the required 2 day window. Somehow I got an email that my candle was picked up and my credit card was charged incorrectly for a product I never received. Upon calling the store, they refused to give me my money back. I will never ever shop at this store again. I believe 1 of the employees either took my candle or gave it away to the wrong person. How awful. What a rip-off place! read more

At home gets 5 stars because of 2 very nice associates. While some associates were more concerned with making sure no more customers came into the store two associates were willing to help me get my online order. I learned that I submitted my order 2 minutes after the deadline for same day pick up, which I didn't know. But since I was in the store 10 minutes before close one nice lady went to get my order so that I wouldn't have to come back next week. Because, I live almost an hr from this location I wouldn't have been able to make it back until the middle of next week or I would have had to buy another chair off of the shelves and cancel my online order so the nice young lady processed my online order and I got to go home with my chair for my patio. Secondly a young man named Fabian helped me unbox my chair and put the pieces into my vehicle because the full box wouldn't fit into my smaller sized SUV. I work 2 jobs and recently bought my 1st home so time is limited and I never shop. But with the weather changing I wanted something nice for my patio so that I can experience the nice weather on days that I'm working too long to actually go outside to enjoy the weather so the two kind associates at AtHome helped me out in a major way! I have heard so many great things about this place and I have been waiting patiently for it to arrive in my area. Today I was able to stop by and wow was I impressed. I love the color coordination of the store it makes shopping so much easier. The store is huge and has something for everyone. The prices are pretty good and most items I saw were of good quality. I was there about an hour and could have browsed longer. Check out was quick and everyone was very helpful. I hope this store can keep up the look and great customer service if so they have a loyal customer!!! read more

The store manager basically accused me of switching the sales tag on 2 items-instead of 75% off they rang up only 50% off. THE 2 items were $7.99!! Instead of admitting that just MAYBE a sales clerk may have made a mistake -he went on to "prove" that online they are 50% off. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE-it was only an extra $4 but to not even offer to adhere to the guidelines of adjusting the price to what the actual sales clearance tag read -was ridiculous. One star is too many when it comes to their return policy. BEWARE. ZERO tolerance especially on seasonal / holiday items. Even if you bought them AFTER the holiday & have a receipt - you will NOT get the pride you paid back. Talked to manager & corporate customer care center. They only quote the polichh - nothing more. I bought storage items AFTER the holiday at full price. Tried to exchange for different size ( same item) and was told I would only get 25% of price I paid - even thought I had my receipt. They had to be returned before holiday to get price I paid back .... Even though I bought them AFTER holiday. NOT logical. read more

I initially loved this place! I feel bad but I'm not too sure about going back there. I went to but some Christmas baskets and the sign said 40% of all Christmas & Christmas lights. Next to 4 huge tables of Christmas decor. I wanted to purchase a small crate that said merry Christmas on it in red, a metal tray that had a truck carrying Christmas trees and two flannel laundry baskets. When I went to pay for them I was told they were not on sale. At the very bottom it said excluding storage and wrapping paper. I could possible accept the laundry baskets but the tray and the small crate? I asked for the manager to dispute this and I explained if these were storage items them they should not be on the tables and that one of the tags said Christmas home decor. He wouldn't budget. I said fine and thank you but I will not be purchasing any thing here or coming back. Clearly they want to get rid of the merchandise but hey if you're not willing to compromise, there are plenty of other stores that will take my business. Joanne fabrics has deep discounts on their holiday decor right now so I'm heading that way. read more

I have shopped "At Home" for a long time, Elmhurst, IL, Merriville, IN, Tampa, FL just to name a few. I have always highly recommended the shopping experience, the Customer Service & the store's policies. I shopped the store in Elmhurst, IL this morning & ran into the Crestwood, IL location to do an exchange & grab some large outdoor vases. The cashier was very pleasant as usual, no name tag so I couldn't give her a shout by name. She did need assist from the Manager, Steve. I can not tell you how he set my option of this store back. I was promised on 02/27/20 that if rugs I purchased & used a coupon for did not fit I could exchange them & would not loss the value of the coupon. The cashier highlighted my receipt, told me by 03/04/20 (the expiration date on the coupon) & gave the coupon back for proof. Steve said, "no way, one time use only" & I will speak to the original cashier. I said I'll keep the original rugs, the cashier was not able to void the return transaction & asked for Steve's help. Steve the Manger was called back & said he does not know how to void a transaction. COME ON! I asked for a number to call HDQ or Corp for additional help. I was told to call the number on the back of the credit card. I said that is the number to the bank, "oh no" Steve said. When I got to my car I did call the number & it is Synchrony Bank. Steve did tell me the District Manger is Matt, but he is not going to help. Boils down to Customer Service & training. A Manager can not honor what a cashier promised in writing or make me whole by learning to void a transaction. I'll keep you posted. read more
