I don't know how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars; if I could give it 6, I would…read more First: the food is absolutely delightful. There are tons of options, including many vegetarian ones, and I have yet to try a dish that wasn't beautifully made, with balanced, light flavors. There are lots of beans, lentils, vegetables, yogurt-based sauces, olives, cheeses, stews, bread, tea, three or four variety of starchs--rice, couscous, bulgur, etc-, burek, fried stuff, baked stuff, boiled stuff.... Sometimes, if I need to eat one meal in a day, I'll go here. Second: the people that work here come from various places--Turkey, Lebanon, Germany, Cuba...ALL of them (that I've met) are friendly, generous, and welcoming (and patient as I point at the different foods to pile my plate with!). The atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome: a clean, simple yet warm vibe, classical music playing, and a back room where you can look onto the back yard. Third: you are getting ALL of this for either 7 or 9 Euro. I come from NYC, where one can easily--and in fact often does--pay twice that amount for food half as good. SUPPORT places like this, that offer lovingly made, healthy, delicious food for good prices....this is my favorite restaurant BY FAR in the neighborhood, and there are many other good ones here. I've brought about 4 friends here and all of them have been blown away...one even told me the next day, "dude, I can't stop thinking about that restaurant!".

I was quite amazed at how much food could fit on one plate! The service was amazing & such heart-felt. I would recommend this place to anyone! Although bear in mind there is not a whole lot of space to sit.

Started our 24-hour stay in Berlin with a delicious and affordable dinner at this neighbourhood…read moregem, just around the corner from our hotel. We ordered the eggplant dip, spicy veal meatballs, vine leaves, and sardines (mis-translated as anchovies on the English-language menu). Everything was delicious - the bread and salad so fresh, the fish beautifully presented and flavourful, the dip creamy and refreshing. Only thing wrong with the vine leaves is that we would have happily eaten more. (Actually, we would have been too full, but they tasted SO GOOD!) Many Turkish clientele, which is always a good sign, and though our server spoke hardly any English, we managed the meal with no difficulty. We would absolutely eat there again, if only we were in town for longer! (Especially because we were so looking forward to the pistachio baclava, but in the end were too full to order it.)

I had the mixed meat platter which contained an array of kebab sausages, chicken, beef and lamb paired with rice, salad and yogurt sauce. Yum! Huge portions too with the right balance of meat, veggies and carbs. My girlfriend had the grilled fish. Not quite sure which fish or was exactly, but it's pictures on the menu. Seasoned with salt and lemon, the dish was so simple yet so crispy and tasty. Of course we had giant cups of beers to go with them and finished the meal off with baklava and Turkish tea. Service was attentive as well. Menu is only in German, but good ol Google Translate helped us out with that.
