I called this office from out of town to ask a few general questions about a case/issue/problem I was going through to determine if I do indeed need a probate attorney, I was quickly rushed off the phone and told of a consultation fee. Hopefully this office has enough business, because it was clear that they didn't have time for my business or care to answer my questions. The CONSULTATION fee was clearly stated. How do I know if I need a probate attorney?? I have to pay to ask a few questions?? $300 an hour to ask a few point me in the right direction questions?? After much research on the internet, I was excited to narrow my search down to just three offices, with this office first. Shocked at the way I was treated on the phone...I have moved on. The possibility of needing a probate attorney can be very upsetting/sad and this office made it much worse. Have some empathy! I was looking to hire an attorney, I have never ever had to do that before and I had questions. First impressions mean everything...I wasn't asking a lot and I know how I would get treated at this office. Spend your money elsewhere. Happily, I did get my few questions answered by the 2nd and 3rd attorney's office that I called....heard nothing about a CONSULTATION FEE! Nothing! Not one word about a fee to answer my questions. We purchased a house in DeLand from out of state (Texas) in the summer of 2017. We hired Ms. Astrid de Parry to handle a few issues with the seller, and make sure the transaction was as it should be with the title company. We couldn't be there for the act of sale. She provided adequate service on the purchase of the house. However, 24-hours after we'd paid her for her services, my wife called her secretary to ask who we should contact to have the electricity turned on. Her secretary put my wife on hold and Ms. deParry picked up and said we'd already been charged the final payment and she couldn't help us. My wife responded we don't need legal help, we just wanted some friendly help to find out who provides electricity in DeLand so we could make a call. Ms. deParry refused to allow her secretary to take the call, and would not share the info with us without charging our card for 1/4 hour of her time. Wow. She's certainly not a member of the DeLand Welcome Wagon. I wouldn't hire her services again if she were the last attorney in DeLand. read more

I have NEVER had a more rude, unprofessional, two minute consultation phone call in my life. This 'person' was very disrespectful, rude, and used the term "charity case" while referring to my questions about how to proceed against theft from my mother's account. I do have my own source of money, but I was quickly 'dispatched' when she assumed "MY" bank account was low, when in fact, it was the theft from my dying mothers account I was discussing. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. read more
