***Do not send your daughter(s) here.********************
I am a 2013 graduate and I can tell you that my 4 years of life at AHS were the worst years of my life so far.
Let's start:
All Assumption cares about is $$$. It costs 12k a year to send ONE student there. It is very expensive and you DO NOT get your money's worth
The teachers:
Very unhappy, low skilled women. Not exceptionally smart or good at what they do. Very immature as well. They like to think that they are still young and try to befriend the "popular" girls.I have had teachers make fun of my name, suggest that I was "stupid" and harassed me about my weight. I told a counselor who confronted one of them, but I never got an apology from anyone. My self esteem plummeted the time that I was there. They were just so mean.
Speaking of mean..
The girls there are the meanest and cruelest you can find. Gossiping, back stabbing, verbal threats, stealing, lying, physical fighting ostracizing. I am guessing the environment of being in "jail" all day long and female hormones cause the chaos and nastiness that rules the school. We had classes that were meant to bond us and teach us tolerance but it was hopeless. I was suicidal so many times. I also thought seriously of dropping out. It's scary to think that most of these girls are mothers are are going to be mothers. Explains a lot about the world.
The curriculum...
..is dumbed down quite a bit. I arrived at college totally unprepared and failed a few of my classes freshman year before. The school counselor was worthless. All she did was socialize and gossip. One counselor to like 1,000 girls, how does that even make sense?? It doesn't just another way for AHS to cut expenses. I couldn't befriend my teachers and ask for help because they were all so mean and unapproachable.
They really do like their sports though. Live for it. That and $$$$.
Assumption High School is a piece of Hell. I don,t think it is going to be around in 10 years.
PS-I also wanted to note that enrollment to Assumption High School has been down the past 2 years. Looks like some people get it. read more
