Absolutely unprofessional! I was supposed to see Dr. Mercx at a satellite location. I had waited a month for this appointment with a very painful heel inflammation which had required cortisone injections to get me through the month preceding my appointment. I received a phone call stating that Dr. Mercx had decided to change his appointments from Tuesday to Thursday. This was very short notice and there was no excuse for it(like the doctor being sick or poor road conditions), he just felt like it. Expecting patients to drop everything they are doing with little notice for NO reason other than his convenience at the expense of multiple persons is not acceptable! read more

Dr. Schroeder and staff are very welcoming and work with various insurances. I bring my participant and they are always accommodating and happy to see us. They event make the billing aspect so simple so the almighty dollar isn't even referenced. A flawed health care system, but never blame them, they do everything they possibly can. read more

I went to Dr. Merckx for ingrown toenail removal on my left foot years ago had no issues. When I developed an ingrown toenail on my right toe, I went back to him expecting the same excellent service. I explained I needed the issue resolved because I would be thru hiking the Appalachian trail. The procedure did not go well. He didn't numb me the same way he did before, so it was quite painful and instead of removing the toenail, which was the issue, Dr. Merckx cut of an excessive amount of toe skin. I did the follow up care with the soaking and bandaids, but returned to him a couple of weeks later because in my eyes, the issue was not resolved and my toenail was still very much ingrown. Instead of listening to my concern and completing the procedure properly, Dr. Merckx just cut off more toe skin and made a snide comment to the effect of "do you expect me to do this for free?" And he prescribed me an $80 antibiotic, to "prevent"an infection. I am quite sanitary, there was no infection, I don't feel comfortable taking an antibiotic when one is not needed as they are prescribed far too heavily in our society, and I don't see how an antibiotic would resolve an ingrown toenail. If that is the case, I would have just taken a pill and avoided an extremely painful procedure! I chose not to fill the antibiotic, "trust" Dr. Merckx and begin my hike. Well, now my fears have come true. I am in the middle of Virginia, 883 miles into my hike with throbbing pain in my big toe on my right foot, from a toenail that is still very much ingrown. To add insult to injury, I was slapped with a $309 bill. When I called to see if I could have some consideration with this cost, as my issue after 2 visits is still not resolved, the snotty billing lady, Michelle, snapped at me that there was nothing she would do, it was my fault because I didn't take the antibiotic, and she added, "well guess what, you WILL pay the bill." I don't appreciate anyone telling me what I am going to do. If I were you, I would go elsewhere. This grubby facility and sub par staff won't have my business ever again. read more

i went to see podiatrist Dr. Chubb, 6510 grand teton plz. suite 406 because i was having pain in the bottom of my foot. First visit was going ok, did some x-rays, got a sleeping boot to keep my foot perpendicular while sleeping, then when i told him where the pain was on the bottom of my foot he told me i've done this before and put the cortizone shot on the side of my heel. Why he did this i don't know, it's been a while since i had a cortizone shot so i thought ok i'll see how it goes. The next day when i walked the dog the pain was still on the bottom of my foot and my heel was numb. I had an appointment 2 weeks later, he said he couldn't put another shot in because of the close time frame from the 1st shot, did absolutely nothing and made me pay $92.00 for the visit. They could've scheduled the next appointment for a later date. Why again he did this i don't know. Very unprofessional and very shady read more
