The space he cultivates here isn't your run of the mill martial arts gym. It's an encouraging, collaborative, and welcoming learning environment where Coach takes time to focus on and refine technical skill, depth of knowledge, and rhythm. I recall in particular how Coach Joe took the time to fix my middle kick in a way that really clicked. He takes special care and attention to help you learn not only the proper form of a move but also the why behind it. Once you have it, it's impossible to forget. If he takes the time to help you correct something, just know that he believes in your capacity for growth and improvement. He is a wellspring of expertise. This learning environment is also reinforced by the athletes and experienced students who I've had the pleasure of training with. Through drills and sparring, everyone works to support each other and reinforce our learning. What you get here is not just an education; it's also a didactic community. Duveen was a phenomenal teacher and we saw great progress in just one summer. She is skilled at teaching, has patience and keeps the classes engaging and varied enough to maintain the students' attention. She was super informative and had a lot of useful information about Muy Thai. Her husband Josh is the head coach/trainer. They offered one free class and we definitely took advantage of it. The environment is super clean, highly organized and friendly atmosphere. My son was immediately comfortable as Josh worked him individually on the fundamentals. Needless to say, I signed my son up for classes 3 times a week and they were super affordable. My son has been attending for a while now and I definitely have noticed a positive change in his confidence and overall personality. Ever since attending, i have seen much improvement in myself and many other students in both (Muay Thai & BJJ). I was a little nervous and…read moreintimidated to take the class at first, I'm a stay home mom and sort of figured I would never need anything like this, my shyness melted away the moment I met Dawna and the other ladies taking the class. My intimidation melted away when I heard the stories of women like me who has needed to use self-defense in their real lives. The class teaches real life moves for real life scenarios and helps you to maintain calm and focus so that you can get yourself out, get away and get help. I especially appreciated that we would be paired up with people who are very different in size and height from us, it didn't feel like a cookie cutter program. Having a male in the class to practice 'choking out' our attacker was the highlight of the class for me! Very empowering! I would recommend this class to all of my friends, high school and college aged ladies, even as a business team building exercise.

After the second week of the class I knew that I wanted to pursue Jiu Jitsu. This class really helped build my self confidence and make me feel that in a terrible situation I could act in a way to get myself out of it. I will not recommend anybody even going there.
