One of the details that meant so much to me was walking into the private room and seeing a clean, soft, fluffy blanket already waiting for Cupcake rather than seeing her placed on a cold, bare metal table. The doctor was so gentle with her and even wrapped Cupcake in two fluffy blankets. It may seem like a small gesture, but in that moment, it made the room feel warm and peaceful instead of clinical. The cremation process was honestly the most beautiful part. You could see how much thought, care, and effort went into everything that was put together for us. The packaging was beautiful, Cupcake's name was labeled perfectly, and the paw print was such a special keepsake that we will always treasure. Everything was handled with so much dignity and attention to detail. What touched me even more was that the doctor followed up afterward with another letter checking in on us. That level of compassion, even after we had already left, meant more than I can put into words. Losing Cupcake was incredibly difficult, but this team made one of the hardest experiences we will ever go through feel peaceful, dignified, and full of love. I am so glad I found Lakewood Pet Vet. From beginning to end, the experience was completely different. They were able to get two of my dogs in for appointments the very next day, and the level of care, attention, and compassion we received was outstanding. Amanda at the front desk was sweet, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. Sylvia, who handled their intake and vitals, was equally kind and caring and took the time to be very detailed. Dr. Dang was wonderful--thorough, knowledgeable, gentle, and tender with my dogs. What really blew me away was that Dr. Dang's initial diagnosis was right on target even before all of the lab results came back. She immediately began treating my dog for a deep ear infection, a UTI, and both yeast and bacterial infections on her paws. After FOUR visits to our longtime vet in ONE MONTH and repeatedly being told they couldn't find anything wrong, finding out that my dog actually had several issues requiring treatment was astonishing and incredibly upsetting. The follow-up care has been just as impressive. I received a call that same evening to check on how my dogs were doing. Dr. Kai, who was on duty, also called to personally go over the test results and check on them. Then, to my surprise, Amanda called again later that afternoon to follow up. When I told her one of my dogs was still showing signs of distress, she immediately relayed that information to the veterinarian on call, who later contacted me with additional recommendations. This is what veterinary care should feel like. Lakewood Pet Vet has truly exceeded my expectations. My dogs are still ill, and it's only been two days since treatment began, so we're not out of the woods yet. But after spending more than a month searching for answers, simply knowing that their problems have finally been identified and are actually being treated has given me tremendous peace of mind. Via Yelp messages, and over the phone, have been pleasant and they're very friendly. Made an appt and was able to bring both my kitties in. Greeted immediately and they got me right into a room. The wait for the vet was good, the vet was friendly and informative and good with my cats. The vet assistant was amazing and so friendly and informative as well. Affordable as well. They did currently have a discount for 1st visits which was nice. Overall, just thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a whole and visiting this place. In June 2026, I was frantically calling vet offices after receiving an unforeseen and distressing diagnosis for my (then-senior) Shiba at the emergency VCA in Fountain Valley. The receptionist was very attentive and nice, and was able to get us seen straight away in the morning when they opened. Aside from the really great customer/patient service, the lobby was small, but very clean. The atmosphere isn't dreary, which I really appreciated at the time. We were seen by Dr. Acevedo, who was very professional and warm. I explained what was happening to my 11.5 year old boy--he was diagnosed with pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade with ascites--and she explained very thoroughly what they were going to do that day. I did have to drop him off for most of the day and pick him up at the end of it, which I didn't love, but I understand it's because I was basically a very last-minute appointment, and the procedure they were going to do was a drain plus radiographs along with other tests. Unfortunately, as his symptoms progressed aggressively and Dr. Acevedo had results to talk about with me, she let me know over the phone that the prognosis was not good. I then went in, where she showed me the radiographs and gave me a detailed explanation of what she was seeing, and even compared my dog's x-ray to a healthy dog's x-ray to help me understand better what was happening. Dr. Acevedo was very sincere, she told me she's seen this several times before, and the outlook based on what she saw would mean my boy would be in a constant state of recovery. Eventually, I made the very painful decision to lay him to rest with an at-home service with a different practice the next week. Overall, Dr. Acevedo was incredible. Because his decline was so rapid, I was constantly blowing up the phone at her office asking about everything ranging from treatments, to what I should look out for so that I don't wait too long to lay him to rest. Every time, she was very informative and tried to help me with what I was going through with my best friend. Thank you to everyone at Lincoln Animal Hospital. When the time comes, I will be glad to bring my next pup back here. It's worth the drive.

I know it's their job to upsell services but she wa pushing it hard, after i declined and needed my dog to receive her meds. I am never coming back here again. the last time i brought my dog here the vet assistant was being awfully rude to my dog and she was getting her check up. Dr. Cho was also incredibly accommodating and supportive as I prepare to fly my dog to Hawaii, which has very strict and detailed pet entry requirements. Even though this was something the clinic had never done before, Dr. Cho went above and beyond by researching everything thoroughly to make sure I could bring my dog with me. He ordered the FAVN Rabies Titer Test and will be issuing my dog's health certificate prior to arrival in Hawaii. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Cho has been patient, attentive, and caring. The staff are also great! They're all friendly, professional, and always helpful. It's unfortunate that my dog will be in Hawaii... otherwise Dr. Cho would absolutely continue to be my dog's vet. The pictures shows my dog before we found Dr. Cho, immediately after the surgery, and then yesterday's picture where we celebrated my dog's 12th birthday. Also a plus that Dr. Cho's office is immaculately clean and modern. I'm very glad we found Dr. Cho. I was in that place just a couple weeks ago, sobbing while calling around to find the "perfect" veterinarian...someone who would be compassionate, caring, calm, and patient, all while our beloved dog with a history of anxiety would feel safe to be around as she takes her final breath. I finally had my mind set on a vendor, but their schedules didn't work out at the end. As I cried uncontrollably feeling like I'm back to square one, our dog's regular veterinarian reminded me the most important thing was to do it quickly in order to ease our dog's pain. So I took a leap of faith, chose the first available veterinarian I could find, and prayed the yelp reviews were honest and accurate. And I'm so glad we found Dr. Charlie. He not only had all the qualities I was looking for, but was so supportive in guiding our family through those moments of vulnerability and grief. I hope we don't have to use his service again, but if we do (or anyone we know who does), La Fin will be the first place in mind.

My Experience with LBC Vets I brought my two dogs to LBC…read moreVets because they had been treated for an array of issues at another facility, but the problems persisted. I explained what they had been treated for and how much money I had already spent trying to help them. I was given a diagnosis and a treatment plan. I couldn't afford the entire expense, but I was told that A and C were the best options considering my financial situation. Since then, I have brought my dogs back several times for the same problems. I borrowed money to pursue the recommended treatments and exhaust the available options to get my dogs the help they needed, but despite the additional expense, their problems remained unresolved. During my last visit, however, I was met with a poor attitude from the veterinarian and an unfriendly office manager. The vet was rude and unsympathetic, and the office manager showed little warmth or friendliness. Other things happened during that visit that would take too much time to explain in detail. I had a friend helping me handle some things because my husband had suffered a chainsaw accident and was in the ICU. I trusted that she had all the information she needed to communicate with both veterinary facilities. She sent a letter to LBC Vets that was quite harsh and mixed up some of the information I had shared with her about each facility. Rather than focusing on the letter, I wholeheartedly apologized for its tone. However, I also explained that I still needed answers about my dogs' unresolved problems. Through my own research, I discovered what appeared to be a mite infestation. After treating my dogs with mange medication, hundreds of mites came to the surface. Since June, I had spent several thousand dollars trying to resolve their problems without success until I took matters into my own hands. It took five days to get rid of the mites. However, my dog's rear-end problem still hadn't resolved. I continued researching the symptoms, which appeared consistent with a tapeworm. I gave that dog tapeworm medication, and the problem resolved. A couple of weeks passed, and I thought I would finally hear something from LBC Vets. Instead, I received an email containing only the last invoice and the veterinarian's notes. There was no explanation, no acknowledgment of my concerns, and no meaningful communication--just the invoice and documentation of my conversation with the vet. Only part of the conversation was documented, making it appear as though the issue had been addressed when it had not. One particularly important part of the conversation was omitted entirely: the moment when I was in tears explaining that I had only $600 left to my name. This was after paying for repeated veterinary visits while also dealing with my husband's chainsaw accident, for which he had no insurance. After the visit, I was given bills for $249 and $294, which I paid. Then, as I was about to leave, I was told I owed an additional $15 for something they had forgotten to bill me for. It's sad that no one reached out to apologize for my dogs' suffering or explain whether they believed they had missed something. No one offered to review the videos I sent, explain what other health problems might be associated with a mite infestation, or guide me on what else needed to be done to ensure my dogs received proper treatment. They could have offered guidance, recommended further examinations, or discussed a payment plan. Instead, the only communication I received was that my letter would be forwarded to the office manager, followed by an email containing the invoice and the veterinarian's notes. I told them through tears that I had only $600 to my name, yet I was billed $249 and $294, and then asked to pay another $15 as I was leaving. That comes to $558, leaving me with just $42. The fact that they knew how financially and emotionally overwhelmed I was, yet still handled the situation this way, speaks volumes about what seemed to matter to them. At no point did I feel that my dogs' suffering or my circumstances were met with compassion or genuine concern. I treated my own dogs after several attempts by both LBC Vets and the other facility failed to resolve their problems. I have not received a single message acknowledging what my dogs went through. No one has said, "We're sorry your dogs have been suffering," or offered to help me understand what happened and what else needed to be addressed. Even just We are sorry about how you feel but after reviewing our notes we are not responsible blah blah blah. I was not even given that much. They know they are wrong and the continued mistreatment confirms all of the above. I was not going to write a review at all if I was met with any concern whether it was in my favor or not but to dismiss me all together....a review was in order. Thank you LBC vet for treating me and my dogs as if we didnt deserve care and as if we did not matter.
