Also have great knowledge of fine cuisine and taste. I started with the langoustine carpaccio and my wife the duck foie gras. Both excellent. Then we both had the lotte (monkfish) cooked to perfection with wonderful peas and pea tendrils. My wife had the rouge fruit and I had the chocolate dessert. yum. We are exploring Loire Valley wines this trip and Sarah selected a nice one for our dinner. Back there for lunch tomorrow.

To clarify, I wouldn't feel comfortable closing my eyes and choosing from their menu at random. Last night, for example, I ordered the Tartiflette with a supplementary small green salad. Don't get me wrong, the ingredients were fresh and well-seasoned; however, there really were too many potatoes in the crêpe. Tartiflette PLUS anything will never = a light meal, but this was a bit extreme. Would order again if VERY hungry (and would hesitate mentally about asking for less potatoes). I would stay away, however, from l'Exotique. The vegetables were watery-bland and perfectly diced; (it seemed extremely likely that they were from-frozen, not fresh); the chicken was dry; and the curry sauce desperately needed salt. Something I really do appreciate about St Michel is their polite service and their accommodating hours.

We understand that staff can be overwhelmed, but that's not a reason to be rude to customers.
