My first trip to Aspen Dental. And I was so surprised by THE most thorough dental exam I've ever had. And I'm old! Multiple X-rays from more angles than I could even imagine. Periodontal charting to diagnose gum disease. And something new that I've never seen before...an intraoral camera photographing my entire mouth and producing color photos/videos that are amazing. Non-invasive, better oral care, and convenient diagnosis - isn't that what you've always looked for in your dental check-up? The people were all friendly and informative, from check-in, through X-rays, hygienist exam, dentist exam, and accounting. I said accounting because, once again, this is something new to me. They provided me a detailed cost analysis of everything needing to be accomplished for my oral health. It showed the cost before insurance and after insurance for each procedure, and I knew exactly what I would be required to pay upfront. What a concept! I've been a paying customer at Aspen Dental on Richmond Road, Texarkana for many years, and I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. But after multiple frustrating experiences, I feel compelled to share my story. Back on February 18, I had a full-day appointment scheduled, took time off work, lost a day's pay only to arrive and be told their technician wasn't in. No call, no heads-up. The same receptionist who's always there could've notified me the day before or even that morning. She didn't. Fast forward to last Thursday, Oct 30, 2025: I stopped by to ask about a repair and warranty coverage. She said it was covered and to bring the item in at 8:00 a.m. Friday and it'd be ready by noon. I did exactly that. The technician confirmed after I asked that they'd remove the liner to do the repair. I called at 12:20 to check if it was ready, and the receptionist said yes. I left work and headed over. Then came the curveball: she called me en route, rudely stating I had a "12:00 appointment" and she was closing at 1:00. I was confused, there was never an appointment, just a pickup time. When I arrived, her attitude was dismissive. I reminded her that I paid premium for the item and deserved basic courtesy. Another clerk chimed in with "Sir, you need to just calm down." Calm down over what? No one told me they closed early on Fridays. She was in a Halloween costume, so maybe theatrics were part of the day. To be fair, the technician did a great job on the repair. But the front desk experience was consistently poor. I was offered another appointment next week, but I said I might not return. I prepaid for a seven-year package, so I may have no choice. As I left, the costumed clerk hollered "Have a nice day." I let it go. But I couldn't help noticing: in 2019, the parking lot was full. These days, it's mostly empty. That says something. read more

I'm going to make this quick & remember this is Aspen, they do implants. Four nurses or doctors, they did not identify themselves. One came in and took x-rays. Another came in and looks at the x-rays. She had a recorder and called out numbers, referring to each tooth. This was recorded and she left. ANOTHER nurse came in and did the same thing. Then a fourth nurse came in & looked at the x-rays and she they were finished. I was brought to a office and was handed a paper was given with the results. NOT A NURSE The paper did not exactly say what was discovered. Finally I looked over the results. It listed what I needed to have done. There were a number of things mentioned, but NO IMPLANTS. The list of required procedures was numerous. THE TOTAL OF NEEDED TREATMENT WAS $19,000. I'm not making this up! $19,000 It was a free exam, and the LAST WITH THEM! read more

Worse ever dentist and staff.Have no Clue how to do a proper job.Mouth cut up from X-RAY Tech,hurt for 2weeks!Made complaint to main office from Shreveport.....said THIS OFFICE has TROUBLE.....That is correct! AND they put together a Bag of things for me when I left, Including a overpriced electric tooth brush( I had @ at home) NO Communication at all. Don't go there ever ! read more

Yesterday ii called the appointment number and spoke to a scheduler in another state. She contacted the office here in Texarkana after putting me on hold for about 15 minutes. My husband was in severe pain with a bad tooth. He had been in pain for 4 or 5 days. The scheduler came back on the line after talking to the office here and said they would see my husband. I explained that he would be taking a cab and had nowhere to sit and wait outside because he had to take a cab. The scheduler called the local office and came back on the line to say she called the local office 3 times and didnt get an answer. The scheduler then told me to call the number she was at and choose option 2. I did that this morning and spoke with someone in the local offi e, who after I explained the situation said for my husband to come on to the office and he would be able to sit inside. The taxi was called and my husband was taken to the dental office. A little while later he called and told me that he had been turned away. There was an appointment made for April. So after being told more than three times to come on in we had to pay a cab there and back with no results. There was nothing done for his pIn so we gained nothing and paid for the cab there and back. We are living on a fixed income and did not have this money just to throw away. This was the first time in 2 years that we could afford to even pay for a dentist. Waisted time , waisted money. As far as recommending this dental office absolutely not. They are not even a walk in office as is advertised and as I was told multiple times that they were. read more

They quote you one price and then try to charge you more for the same work. They are slow and disrespectful of your time. Tw they told me that I would have to reschedule my procedure after waiting HOURS to be treated- the first time AFTER numbing my ENTIRE mouth! The manager is unprofessional. I have heard horror stories from several other people about this place quoting thousands of dollars them for unnecessary work and having the same unprofessional experience. Hopeing n praying to find someone who really cares about the person and helping them with not just with their teeth but a person quality of life . Bad teeth run in my family my dad had dentures by 27 my sister by 27 my brother 32 and I got mine aat age 33. Because of my sons teeth he can barely chew his food. He is in unbearable pain from abseses. nobody will hire him. He feels sick all the time. We couldn't find a dentist that would work with us financially my husband has been a master electrician for over 35 yrs at same job for 26 yrs. We pay our bills but the other places wanted the $$$$$$$$$ up front so we are praying Aspen dental is the answer to our prayers. His plans for after he gets dentures straight to college for graphic design. read more

They're constantly changing appointments and at the last minute at that. They're good at loosing your paperwork that has important information! When asked the lady at the front "has no clue, no one told her." Poor communication within the staff. read more

I am nearly 50 years old. I've had braces, vaneeres, appliances, minor jaw surgery, and if I ever get fillings I don't get novocane because I can relax myself and the drilling does not bother me. Never in my life have I left--not just left--walked out of a dentist office, or any doctor's office for that matter, much less in tears. When I arrived at Aspen Dental, Texarkana; I was informed that I could not be seen because "we tried to call you several times yesterday to confirm your appointment." Well, first of all, I confirmed my appointment online; and secondly, there were not "several" missed calls. There was one, and no voicemail was left. The front desk receptionist was rude and acted like she was doing me a favor by letting me keep my appointment. Then I go back for x-rays...the tech clearly had no idea what she was doing. The xrays has to be taken multiple times. She was not putting the thing in my mouth the right way so the xrays would not take. I have cuts in my mouth, my jaw is extremely sore and I have a splitting headache. I counted, after 14 tries I stood up, threw off the drape, said I was done and walked out. You can't take an xray correctly; you sure as heck are not putting your hands in my mouth. I would not take my dog to this place. The frightening thing (yes there's more), the tech who was botching my xrays was training a new tech. If you have an appointment with these people you need to run for your life. OH, I can only put this if I put at least one star....they don't deserve any stars. They should be shut down. read more

I went in to get x-rays and a checkup as a first-time customer. As a new customer, the whole visit was free of charge! I was nervous about the visit because I hadn't been to a dentist in nearly 12 years, and was afraid of what I might find out about my oral health. Every single person I dealt with, from the young woman who helped me through the x-ray process, to the last woman who helped me understand what to do next with my dental care (shout out to Jami) was absolutely amazing and friendly! I had never felt more comfortable and genuinely welcome in a medical environment before today, and it was awesome. These people love what they do and are great at it! I highly recommend anyone who has been putting off going to the dentist to check these guys out. read more
