Had an appointment for 9 a.m. and waited, and waited and waited. Finally got the procedure started. I brought x-rays taken 3 days previously but they weren't good enough. They needed to do "comprehensive" x-rays -- up, down, over and all around. I told the technician I knew where the problem was and they weren't necessary. She insisted. I figured I would be charged an arm and a leg for unnecessary x-rays. Then after another length of time another technician comes in to measure my gums! I asked if I was going to see a doctor or not this morning as my issue was concerning an abscess that needed attention and that was it. She said doctor would be in shortly. Well later, like I'd been there an hour and a half, the doctor comes in. We had a nice chat and decided on a course of action for the procedure. Keep in mind I would get no relief that day because the oral surgeon (who would do extractions) wouldn't be in for a week and a half. In the meantime, they would give me the estimate for the extraction of 3 teeth. How does $4047 hit you? I told them "you've got to be kidding." The financial person said she could work in a $670 discount (for what reason I don't know) which would bring down the price to $3,666 to have 3 teeth removed. HA! Let me think about this. Well, she says, we have financial assistance available too. Sure you do, I said. Bright side of this whole fiasco was that I didn't have to pay for all their unnecessary footwork and I got an antibiotic prescription! I still have the abscess issue over this weekend and will have to look for another dentist, hopefully an unshafting dentist, on Monday. read more

So far, so good . I appreciate the professionalism of the front desk associates. They were warm and inviting just because. The young lady who did my x-rays was impeccable in the service she provided. The young handsome dentist had a bedside manner perfected far beyond his years. I felt he heard me and understood what I wanted in my next dentures. The office manager lived up to her title as she serviced me with care while calmly putting out fires that were trying to spark around her. I actually give them NO STARS but that wasn't an option. After reading a few bad reviews, I realized Aspen Dental has a pattern in their money making merry-go-round. Every bad review pretty much notes how they suck you right in and bombard you with x-rays (cha-ching), then move on to probing your mouth by the hygienist (cha-ching) and then the Dentist (cha-cha-Ching) who tag team you to conclude that you need a deep cleaning as well as an exuberant amount of unnecessary dental work that ends your visit being wallet raped by the Office Manager who doesn't have time to answer any questions based on their $5,000 bill that seems to be a perpetual number. While you are put on fire engine red to commit to an extravaganza worth of expensive work, the Office Manager gives you her best used car salesman act to get you to sign up for a dental credit card to pay for this entire scam and pony ride. It gets worse from here. If you have a good head on your shoulders, you will leave (RUN) and go get a second opinion from a more reputable dental group who will do their best to request your x-rays to be sent to them but to no avail. I made the huge mistake to email the Office Manager with questions about my dental plan of work and she told me that she was too busy. When I sent her the request form for my x-rays to be sent to me and the new reputable dentist, she told me it would take 7-10 days and no longer email her, yet here I am with STILL no s-rays sent, but she had no trouble charging my insurance company. I tried calling their Corporate office phone number which is nothing more than further deception as they pretend to give you options but when you choose them, they do nothing and the voice recording keeps on speaking until it loops right back to the beginning of the same deceptive recording. I will be writing the Better Business Bureau to ensure they too do not recommend Aspen Dental. Absolutely the biggest SCAM in dental high jacking! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS MONEY SCAM! read more

I was able to get an appointment here much sooner than with my previous office. All the staff were welcoming and organized. I had a cavity beneath a crown, which my previous dental office quoted me a very high rate even with my insurance. Turns out this Aspen office informed me it should be 100% covered under my existing insurer. So glad I got that second opinion. I'll never return to my previous (Coast Dental) office. read more

Actually, I am going to rate this dental office a minus 5 (-5 star rating), because of two particular individuals who work there, Jovie Nusser and Brian Link. Both gave terrible service. See details below: Jovie Nusser - On 11/17/21, I had my initial exam and x-rays done. Ms. Nusser gave me very mediocre service - refused to give me a prophylaxis, which was 100% reimbursed by my insurance at the time. She claimed it would be risky for my teeth, simply because she claimed I needed a very costly deep cleaning (Scaling and Planing). Ms. Nusser was not friendly at all. She appeared to be out to make money for the business, rather than give me the stellar service I deserved. Brian Link - a wolf in sheep's clothing. He acted friendly at my initial appt. on 11/17/21, but failed to offer any optional payment plans for the estimated thousands of dollars for their treatment plan cost. I even told him how I was on a fixed income (SSR), but it didn't phase him. I accidentally left a folder of documents in their parking lot. I called their office and left a voicemail, but no one returned my call. I called on 11/19/21 and Mr. Link answered the phone. I told him about my folder of documents. He looked and found them in their parking lot. He told me that he'd FedEx to me the folder overnight, but he failed. It took about a week to get the folder. He said Care Credit was the only payment plan available to me. I mailed a letter to their office a month ago, requesting copies of the x-rays. Got no response at all. I emailed Mr. Link a few weeks ago about the x-rays and finding out the cost for a crown on #6 tooth. He had the x-rays sent over via FedEx. But he told me in 7-14 days the insurance company would provide the cost for tooth #6 crown. He never got back with me about the cost estimate on the crown. I emailed him again last week, but he never replied. He failed miserably!!!! This dental office sucks bigtime! read more

I set up an appointment via their online scheduling program And received confirmation. I had an emergency but was able to hold out for my appointment. I checked in an hour before my appointment they let me sit there for 47 minutes before calling me up and telling me I don't have an appointment. Called again 7/16/20 requesting an appt. was told they lost the scanned copy of my insurance card and I have to wait again! This is ridiculous . The office staff is not organized. When I finally went in for a cleaning, the hygienist is very good. BUT, she gives me rinse & paste to use & never said it was an extra charge. Office tells me my insurance pays 1/2. Attractive office. Modern equipment. I had to change offices because my dentist of many years stopped taking my Solstice Plus dental plan. For years I've had regular prophylactic cleanings with irrigation with chlorhexidine twice a year. The office attractive and clean with modern equipment. The dental assistants took some 18 x-rays, more than I've ever had on one sitting, and probed the pockets in my gums as my former dentist had done annually. Then he recommended scaling and planing in all four quarters, a much more invasive procedure that requires injections of anesthetic. And more expensive. I was told he would not perform the regular cleaning. My previous regular cleaning and check up with my former dentist had been only five months before. I lost confidence and declined. read more

They routinely shut the phones off and there isn't even a machine to leave a message to be called back. It took me 3 days of calling last week to get an appointment. Now for the second appointment in a row they have called and wanted to change the day if my appointment?!? "Unforeseen circumstances"?? Wow there must be major problems with management if you know 4 days in advance that you need to change an appointment from Tuesday to Monday?? I wish I had read the reviews prior to going to Aspen. I had similar billing errors as other reviewers. I had my evaluation visit and given a treatment plan and a price, I paid for everything at the time of service than a month goes by and weird bills start showing up. After numerous phone calls it seems like they just don't know how to properly file insurance claims. Several months later they are still trying to charge me the entire cost and not the price they quoted in the plan (and had me pay) at my appointments. New customers BEWARE. Take your business ELSEWHERE! I give ZERO star rating. Aspen Dental refused to give me a basic teeth cleaning upon request. After xrays and a 1 minute look over from the dentist, the dental hygienist measured my gum pockets and informed me some were in the 4 range and a few in the back were a 5, and "recommended" a deep cleaning. At some point during the exam the dental hygenist really pushed the tool hard into my gums. I was then told to head out to the front desk to discuss insurance coverage and schedule cleaning appointment. Currently I have only preventative coverage. I was informed deep cleaning wasn't covered under preventative. I was quoted $1200.00 for just the deep cleaning (not including cost of antibiotics, etc.). At which point I responded that I did not have $1200.00 to pay for the deep cleaning and I would like to schedule a basic cleaning now and a deep cleaning would have to wait till after the 1st of the year when I could elect to have it covered under my insurance plan. The response I received was a basic cleaning could not be scheduled until the deep cleaning was performed. I was told I could make payments on the $1200.00 if I couldn't afford to pay the entire cost upfront. Of course I said no. Why would I pay $1200.00 now when in 5 months I could have it covered under my insurance plan? That's a no brainer. Bottom line is they REFUSED to give me a basic cleaning until I paid and had the more expensive cleaning done first. I am shocked I would be denied a basic cleaning and no reason was given as to why I was being denied? I think ultimately it should have been my decision as to what cleaning I would prefer and could afford. I am also shocked that a business would not be willing to work with their customers especially when it comes to paying $1200.00 out of pocket vs. waiting 5 months for insurance coverage to kick in to help save their customers money, especially with what is happening with Covid and the financial impact it has on all families. I guess you could say I have early to moderate periodontal disease. I am almost 50 years old. fact - 47.2% of adults aged 30 years and older have some form of periodontal disease. With almost 1/2 the adult population having this issue you would think a dentist would be more than willing for the sake of MY health to at least give me a basic cleaning (if that's all I can afford) than to deny ANY cleaning at all because I couldn't afford the more expensive cleaning. Aspen Dental, you should be obligated to give a basic cleaning as per my insurance covers regardless of what is "recommended" or the fact I have periodontal disease. My dental insurance changed so I chose aspen dental because they could get me in. What a total rip off! Please, do not go here. NEVER USE ASPEN DENTAL. Tallahassee fl. Aspen dental was going to due over $5,000.00 worth of work on my teeth as per my visit today 2-22-2017. They x-rayed & gave me the cost of today to pay & was to re-schedule new appointments. Well the BILL today came to $180.00 & when I went to pay with my Care Credit Card they refused to take it & said I had to spend over $400.00 or the credit card co. would not pay it. (Wrong) I have used it there for all my work in the past. I told the girl to just run it & they would pay it & she refused to run the card. This money owed today was just part of the $5,000.00 of work to come, well isn't that worth taking?? Since they refused payment I walked out & went home & called Care Credit who is Synchrony Bank & they said they will pay even $1.00 if that was all I owed. Aspen Dental is just a crooked dental office & I hope no one else ever uses them & the work they done on my teeth in the past is horrible & that is why I had come back to fix issues they caused to a crown & a new filling. My advice- stay away! Having had a great experience with Aspen in Naples. I expected the same kind of reception here in Tallahassee. I was having to face the idea of dentures and was understandably nervous and afraid. Everyone -except for the receptionist- was cold, businesslike and less than welcoming. When I discussed payment with them they were MORE than helpful to help me get with the Dental First Plan, basically they would finance the work I needed done. At the first appointment I was told that I would have all 7 teeth pulled and be fitted with upper and lower partials, and it would all be covered by the financing. OK GREAT!! Go ahead pull the teeth, which they did (at what I found out later $232 per tooth) and given a very ILL FITTING lower partial. After the follow up appointment to see that no infection had set in, and they "fixed the lower partial to fit better" I was then told to my utter shock and dismay that, NO the rest of the work I needed was not covered by the financing and it would be another $1800 for the permanent partials, to add insult to injury they also claimed I may have gingivitis and periodontal disease and I would HAVE to go through THAT treatment FIRST for ANOTHER $1800. NONE of this was explained from the start, in fact, quite the opposite. They intentionally guided me down the primrose path. Now, here I sit with a painfully ill fit temporary lower partial and NO UPPER TEETH at all. On top of all the pleasantness (sarcasm) I owe $2500 plus interest for the pleasure. Anyone who thinks of going to this money grubbing hack shop should rethink because they are going to come out poorer and with NO HELP with the Dental Issues they had from the start. Also, they have some sort of a deal with Oral-B, and casually included an expensive, electric toothbrush in my bill without telling me. The nurse awkwardly walked into the room at the end of the appointment and was like, "Ok, now we're going to show you how to use the new tooth brush you're purchasing from us today." I could've gotten a more basic version of the same brush, without the unnecessary bluetooth features, at target for half the price. Very sleazy company. I am giving Aspen Dental 1 star not because I felt their service was bad, because in all honesty the two hygienist that worked on cleaning my teeth were great. It is their business and accounting department that I am giving 1 star to. I went to Aspen Dental July 6, 2016 to get my teeth cleaned. They told me that I had to have a deep cleaning and that it would be $906 and that my insurance would cover $478.25 of the cost and I would have to pay $427.75. So I went ahead with the procedure when they finished I paid the $427.75 at the front desk. I thought that was kind of expensive but it needed to be done so I went ahead and did it. October 12, 2016 I receive a bill in the mail stating that I owed $469.75 since I had another appointment scheduled November 1st I called to ask them about the bill I received and they said we would handle it November 1st when I came in for the follow up. I went to the follow up November 1st and they cleaned my teeth again and charged me $276.00, again I thought that was expensive and was never told what it was going to cost me so needless to say I paid the $276.00 and went on my way (with a another appointment set for January 2017 (just canceled it now as I am never going back to Aspen Dental). I got a bill in the mail November 11th stating that I owed $193.75 so I called and they told me that the insurance kicked back the claim and that I owe the $193.75 plus $276.00 for my last visit. I explained that I paid the $276.00 when I checked out November 1st. I told them that they gave me a quote for what it would cost and I agreed to the treatment based on that quote of $427.75 (the insurance would cover the other $478.25). The woman on the phone told me that there is nothing they can do and that I owe the $193.75. So I told her that I don't feel responsible for the bill and that I am not happy with this and to please cancel my appointment for January. She told me 3 times "that is fine that you don't want to come back but you are still responsible for the bill". I do not recommend anyone go to Aspen Dental as they are a company that does not have on staff dentist or hygienist all of their hygienist are fly by night and move from office to office all over the state. I wrote them a pretty bad review some time ago stating awful communication between front desk, billing department and the dentists. They say contradicting statements and I see so many other comments saying the same thing happened to them. Essentially, they tell you they will schedule a follow up appointment to make sure everything is going well and then when you come in for the check up, THEY TRY TO CHARGE YOU AGAIN! I asked the front desk agent before leaving to ensure that it was only a follow up and wouldn't be charged again and she said that is correct but not according to the billing department. Even worse, they respond to most of these comments with a phone number saying they'd love to talk to you although when you call no one answers. DON'T SAY YOU'D LOVE TO HELP AND NOT ANSWER THE PHONE MULTIPLE TIMES! Perfect example of a dental office that doesn't care and relies on being part of a chain. read more

I'm not really a person who likes to give bad reviews but when I have to it's because it's necessary. Yeah, some people were nice and everything but what I saw it's that their main point is quantity over quality. Not only I had to wait a long time to go in, but the fillings and all the process they did was not what I wanted or needed. They took their own decisions according to their "experience" but I'm still having the problems that I had when I went the first time.
