I was here for 2 hours for an initial screening. No cleaning on this visit. Less than 5 minutes each with the hygienist and dentist.

Scheduling is very easy and they are very accommodating even with our busy sports schedule. The financial process for anything dental can cause a lot of anxiety for most people, but it was as smooth as possible with a detailed timeline and payment options to best suite your needs. They encourage your kids to keep great oral health while you are in treatment with an awesome reward program and monthly competitions. State College Orthodontics is the place to be for the top of the line orthodontic care in the area.

My braces journey started in August 2019 with my first visit to SCO and Dr Ray for a fact gathering…read moreappointment to investigate my options and the cost of getting braces as an adult. Madison, one of SCO's treatment coordinators, and Dr Ray were friendly and thorough in providing information and answering all our questions. Due to some other large expenses in life at that time we had to put this on the backshelf until November 2021 when we were finally able to move forward with a re-evaluation exam. We were able to schedule my braces to go on February 12, 2022 and surgery with Dr Engroff and Tri- County Oral Facial Surgeons on February 24, 2022. Between the November and February appointments, Madison answered all my silly questions as I hadn't really had anyone close to me recently go through braces so there were a lot of them. She answered each one with patience and kindness. February 12th came along and Tina, the Clinical Coordinator, and Dr Ray put on my braces and we were off to the races. I didn't start getting adjustments until mid March as we had to wait for my surgery and some healing from that before we could get started. But once we did, I was averaging coming in every two weeks and every one of SCO's clinical assistants from Keelie to Sammie to Madi to most recently and often Jordin have been an absolute delight to deal with. They have been compassionate and caring in everything they have done. From the front door and being greeted by Dreu to passing Brittany on the way out. Each member of this team cares about each other and their patients. They make you feel like one of the "family". Dr Ray had estimated I'd be in my braces for 14 months. Knowing each situation is unique, one never knows for sure how long you will be with these new friends. For me, this journey is coming to a close two months earlier than planned. My braces are scheduled to come off February 22nd. SCO has been my social outlet over the past year and I will miss these gals more than words can say. My husband Dave and I are very pleased with the results of this past year and would strongly recommend anyone thinking about getting braces to go meet with Madison and Dr Ray to find out your options.

You can go to a oral surgeon and get your teeth taken out with general anesthesia for $400. Had to go elsewhere and pay for a denture that fit. Didn't get calls returned to me and a lot of times the dentist wasn't there and the office manager was trying to fix my denture. Save your money. Please let my mistake help you save your money. Went to state college location. There is also one in pittsburgh. Just a heads up.

Dr. Jeffrey Hartman believes in building trusting, open communication between our patients and our team: it's only by understanding your lifestyle, concerns, and goals that we are able to find the dental solutions that are right for you. We do not advocate a cookie-cutter approach to dental care. In contrast, we develop individual treatment plans, helping you achieve and maintain exceptional oral health and a healthy, beautiful smile. We offer new patient visits during which we spend time getting to know you. No work is done during the visit; instead, we talk with you about what you are seeking in dental care and any concerns you might have. Not advanced at all…read more I agree that just cleanings are fine here. but do not spend your money on cosmetics or procedures. GO ELSEWHERE. This is a DSO owned practice. Aka its a private equity money printing machine. Not a quality dental office. I was skeptical at first of the bad reviews left on here because it can be situational and because theres few/dated. However, I spent quite a bit time and money here and I am extremely sad that I did. Im genuinely unhappy with the quality of service. Like absolutely so sad I chose to trust this place. The dental hygenists are nice. Would caution on the cleanings though only because the front office service, over the phone, is so offensive and resistant. They probably go through a ton of crap, so thats understandable. However, be prepared for snarky comments and tones. Its just lacking professionalism. In person, the receptionist and the personnel at the check out desk are very nice. You will also sit their waiting for someone to call your name to go back, for a long long time. like a 30 min wait past your appointment time, even if youve arrived early. Appointments will take you a long time, usually. Communication about appointment times and follow up care etc, all primitive. Not advanced. The dentists are nice, just not very good at dentistry. I would literally only avoid here if you are doing anything but cleanings, and I mean literally anything. Now im literally just going after anything, but they dont even have toilet paper, handsoap or paper towels to dry your hands any time I've ever been there! The bathroom is gross! They literally never check the customer facing bathroom... I watch people go in and out of it while waiting for someone to call my name. Nasty. They just dont care!

the hygienists are fine, if you come here for just cleanings, it's okay. they clean your teeth well…read moreand are friendly do not come here for wisdom teeth removal or any type of operation. they do not offer any kind of sedation regardless of how extreme the procedure is. they told me while i was scheduling my wisdom tooth removal that i could ask for gas to sedate me, and then found out the day of the procedure when i showed up to check in that they wouldn't use any gas at all and the dentist "wasn't trained" to use it. then there was the problems checking in. they had cancelled the appointment without telling me for no reason, blamed it on me, and then had to move someone else's appointment so i could get mine in. they somehow didn't have my insurance preauthorise the procedure before i arrived, even though they had 3 weeks between when i scheduled the procedure and the date of the procedure. they hadn't even started the process, so it wasn't my insurance that was the issue. they were trying to make me pay the full 1,500$ for their carelessness the surgery itself took over 3 hours (my case was difficult, and it was agonising without any sedation) and was from 4pm to 7:30pm. they prescribed me the antibiotics after the surgery had finished, when my pharmacy was closed, and i woke up with an infection the next day that only got worse and made me go to the ER within a day or two. they had to keep me overnight. the oral surgeon at the ER was appalled that they even let me get the surgery done there if they are incapable of doing sedation of any kind, but he did say at least the surgery itself was done well. their care after the procedure was abysmal. i got my wisdom teeth removed (and my infection started) near the holidays, and they were completely unreachable. this is fine and understandable usually, but they never gave me any kind of warning that they'd be closed immediately after my procedure at any point beforehand. they were closed for almost a full week when i was having complications. they also failed to schedule my 2 week post op appointment, and when i tried to schedule one myself they said it'd have to be a month away. tl;dr: don't go here for anything more complex than tooth cleanings. they offer no kind of sedation for procedures regardless of what they tell you when scheduling, and are extremely careless and disorganised. care afterwards is non existent and you're 100% on your own
