I came here for a single broken tooth and left with a total mess. Not only did the treatment fail, but I ended up having two teeth extracted. I was pushed into a 'sky-high' expensive plan with absolutely no alternative options or flexibility--it was a 'pay upfront' or nothing approach. To make matters worse, I was left with a 'temporary' fix that is functionally useless. This practice felt more like a high-pressure sales office than a healthcare provider. I went there because I had pain in my gums to the point that my face swelled. The front desk clerk and the lady who took the dental x-rays were professional. A dentist hygienist talked to me about my dental X-rays. At the end they suggested periodontal scaling and wanted to charge me $4,200 dollars. They were only interested in lining their pockets instead of actually helping me, since the average cost for periodontal scaling is $200 to $600 dollars. They are a rip off company. read more

Won't ever be going back here be aware. They make you schedule an exam before your cleaning and they force you to do them as separate appointments. So you'll have to leave work more than once! The front office has communication problems, seemed disorganized in important matters and when I tried to call them recently they told me they had to call me back with no reason and hang up very fast. They said they'd call me back in a few minutes ... they called me back hours later near the very end of the day. I went here 6 months ago but after my last experience I decided to go to another dentist. During the new dentists exam, they told me I had some concerns for decalcification and staining near the gums of some of my molars. I asked the hygienist if this was something that can happen from my last cleaning and he said that this type of concern would be noticed for awhile. So either Aspen didn't know or didn't tell me. I am also concerned that the hygienist in training that cleaned my teeth at Aspen 6 months ago damaged my teeth and that's what caused my current issue. They gave me the longest cleaning ever and we're scraping VERY HARD and for VERY LONG in the places that I am now having this decalcification and staining. I take very good care of my teeth. The business billed my CareCredit card $13,000 dollars without filing insurance they participate with. The Baldwin Park location would not return repeated phone calls to address the issue and I was on hold 20 minutes with the corporate call center who could not explain why my insurance was not billed. Horrible treatment of my 82 year old mother. She went in because she had a wisdom tooth that was hurting. She had an infection and it needed to be pulled. They did X-rays and had her sit down to go over pricing. Right out of the gate the lady says they can "give her a winning smile" for $41,000!!! She was floored about the price and embarrassed as the whole discussion takes place out in the open, not privately. She asked how much for just the extraction and was quoted $1,400+. They also told her she had to pay upfront and charged her credit card. She left pretty upset and called me. She tried to request her records from Aspen and cancel her appt. They told her she would have to come in to get a paper copy or the digital files could be sent to the other dentist in 7-10 days. Really? They tried to stall her while she is in pain. BEWARE the common denominator of all their bad reviews is Aspen's predatory practices and over charging. I was able to find another oral surgeon, Dr. Bower at Central Fl. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. They were AWESOME and the charge came out to $296 all included. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. And surprise, Aspen is not BBB accredited. Cons: - Took the morning off for a routine dental exam and cleaning. - Arrive ten minutes early, sit in the waiting room for twenty minutes, and my appointment is canceled. - They said that they reached out to me, and yet there's no record of said call on my iPhone, which keeps meticulous records of every call. - Then it's rescheduled and they give me an estimate for double what it should be, which they later admitted was incorrect. - They were able to take me within the hour, but my total visit was two and a half hours for an exam and cleaning. - The X-ray equipment looked damp and gross. I'm dentist shopping so I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning. The staff was very good and very professional on the x-rays and exam they say I need to see a periodontics dentist because I have some slight stuff going on. They refer me to one who is out of network. So I go and they confirm the same thing. No immediate issue but I should get something done at some point. But because they are out of network I decide to hold off until next year. Thinking I will just go back to Aspen and get the regular cleaning that is covered at this point. I call to make an appointment and I'm told we cannot see you because we referred you and we cannot down grade your treatment plan. Loved the people there but had issues with getting accurate pricing before I was receiving service. I set an appointment, someone called to verify my insurance, I went to the office and asked whether or not my insurance was accepted I was told it was, then while signing paperwork I asked if there's any way I can know how much my visit would cost, only then was I told my insurance isn't covered and it would be $250 but since I asked for that information before I signed the paperwork I guess I was offered the visit for free, which I respectfully declined. So not the most customer friendly process. It has nothing to do with the people in the office, lot's of medical institutions in America operate the same way if not worse. I'm sure there is great quality work here, just make sure you verify... and I feel like this should be common sense. But like know what you're paying before you agree and receive the service... right? I would give zero stars if I could. My grandfather went here to get his teeth pulled and dentures made. It's a been a nightmare. They gave him a temporary set that didn't fit properly and left him unable to eat for months. He was told time and time again he was ready for dentures only to be then told he had to have additional teeth pulled that were left in. It was close to a year before he received his first set of permanent dentures, they did not fit which I realize can be common and it may take another attempt to get them correct. They were then fitted at least 4 more times without any success and after over a year of dealing with this incompetence, they informed him they couldn't help him anymore and he would have to drive to another doctor in Kissimmee or they could take their dentures back. My grandfather decided to allow them to take the dentures back and no longer deal with this office for fear of further issues. After all this, he still can't eat properly because he has no properly fitting dentures, temp or otherwise, and he's out thousands of dollars. Let me start by saying, I went to this office for a swollen issue with my gum, and I knew it was an infection and needed attention. After waiting for a short time, maybe 25 minutes I was taken back for xray's and a plan apparently. The nightmare begins: After the dentist looked at my teeth, I was told all my teeth had to be taken out and replaced with dentures. I was sent to the office manager to discuss numbers for different types of dental implants. Due to the fact I was recovering from breast cancer and many, many bills every month with only my retirement benefits to live on, I was just praying I would be able to handle this new financial burden. Let me also say this office was aware of my cancer history. I will refrain from using names but as I said it was the OFFICE MANAGER. She was working on figures and finally hit me with the first quote. $50,000, for a new beautiful smile. I honestly thought she was joking with me. Being in customer service for 47 years with many high profile clients, I truly know how to read people. She was at that point trying to see, if I was rich or if I was poor. Totally threw it out there. Next okay lets see it this will work for you, one implant at $26,000. Excuse me why are you wasting your time and mine. Did you forget I have tons of medical bills from breast cancer? She then tells me lets check to see if you can get some CREDIT. Credit was allowing me a very low loan, with very high interest rate. Okay let's now go to the next denture we can do.$12,000 and it must be paid prior to ANY SERVICE is done. She also told me that I would not find anyone cheaper than this office. I walked out feeling shattered. At the time I was in a lot of pain and very afraid as the dentist said your teeth must be removed as soon as possible, I am very worried for you. I tried to overlook the sales pressure of the office manager and left. I being the person I am sent an email to thank her for taking the time to just say thank you and the dentist for your time and input. ALL FAKE, FAKE,FAKE. Never emailed me back to try and stay in touch. I then called back to that office and asked for her, asking her if she got my email? She simply said YES, and nothing else.... I responded oh okay and that was the end of the conversation. This office is certainly setting themselves up for failure with people like this., When your more concerned about your big sales commission than the best for the client. YOU WILL LOSE. I have found a new facility with a young female dentist that has in fact assured me that I did not need all of my teeth removed. Starting me with deep cleaning and wow believe it or not. Dentist was extremely pretentious and looked at it for all of 2 seconds before telling me I have severe gum disease and I needed to come back. offered nothing further. get to the front desk and they say it'll be $10,000 for treatment and added on invisalign i did not ask for or agree to. obviously said no thank you and left. went to the doctor and got antibiotics for a mouth/gum infection and everything looks normal now. saw a new dentist who said i definitely do not have "severe gum disease" and had an actual infection eating my gums and couldn't believe they didn't prescribe me antibiotics. would give 0 stars if I could. read more

I broke a tooth on Monday, and called them after hours, they were able to get me in the next morning to do the exam and x-rays. My exam was nice, the hygienists were kind and made sure not to hit the tooth that was broken. The doctor talked to me about the issues that I have and what needed to be done to get me back to 100%. They were also able to accommodate me with the same doctor that did my consult for the extraction. Bless her for being able to get my tooth out with minimal pain on my end. I'm not the best dental patient, but she checked in on me multiple times during the procedure. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars, is because they had a bunch of interns there, that were kind of lacking when it came to helping. The man who helped my doctor was a little inexperienced. This location is an entire crew of women, from Wanda the receptionist who answers the phone with kindness, to Rose the dental assistant who helps you overcome any fear, very personable and sweet! Then the Hygienist Susan was QUICK, witty, and got efficient results! The dentist Kelly then comes in and didn't pressure any unnecessary work, simply was informative, Kind, and bubbly. Then you see the office manager to discuss plans and payment, again you're met with KINDNESS, PATIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE. I have no insurance and a phobia of doctors office, and I'm excited for my new oral health journey. Wait time was not long. As a new patient I came in with my paper work already done and in hand. I walked in right in at my appointment time and did not wait more than 5 mins. Don the dental assistant is the man! He was extremely nice and introduced himself to me with a firm hand shake and was around through the whole process. Letting me know what I'll be doing next, who will be seeing me and why and checking on me while keeping me constantly updated. Everyone I met was extremely nice and polite offering hand shakes. The doctor looks very young but is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and seems to really care and stick around to answer all of my questions and did not seemed rushed (let me tell how much I appreciate this especially in a doctors office). I really appreciate all the wonderful customer service. From the moment I walked in through the whole process. Also, I couldn't help but notice how extremely clean and how everything is immediately sanitized in the office. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been to a dentist in a good minute. But this whole experience was a 10/10 compared to all other doctors offices I've been to in the past. I was referred by someone and I am so happy for that recommendation. They have just earned a life long customer. Ps an older customer really stepped up her game and bought the whole office Starbucks. I thought that was really sweet. My wife's cap fell off twice before they finally got it installed correctly. After billing our insurance incorrectly they never received payment. They never rebilled our insurance for over a year. Now we have different insurance and they won't pay. Because of their incompetence they have now turned us over to collection. Poor work and poor billing practices has made this the worst dental experience of Our Lives. We will probably be seeking relief in court. Had the most upsetting dental appointment at this place. Last week I had my very first appointment at Aspen dental at 7 AM so I thought I would be the first person in and out. When I get there there are a few people already in the waiting room which is fine, they took me back about 7:20 to finally get x-rays done. The lady was so rough that I was sore for 3 days afterward. She also kept saying "one more picture" I guess she couldn't get it right. Then I was put in the room and she informed me that the dental hygienist would be in to check my teeth, I would get a cleaning, I would speak to the financial advisor, then the doctor would see me. So before anything was checked, I already was told I'd see the financial advisor which was a red flag for me b/c I have insurance. After waiting about 15 minutes I asked how long much longer it would be because my husband's appointment was supposed to be right after me and he had my kids so we needed to switch kids. So she told me it will probably be another 45 minutes, it was already 7:45 at this point I had been there for 45 minutes. Then the dental hygienist comes in checks my teeth, calls the doctor and the doctor checks my teeth and tells me to go see the financial advisor. I'm thinking, for what? I have insurance! So then I go outside see the financial lady and she told me I have to pay $170. Apparently I have two places were cavities could be starting so we needed to do preventive care, which is fine. Although I don't think I've ever paid that much for filling cavities so I told her can we schedule that another day because I was short on time. She said sure that would be great and I asked her if I should go back to the room and she told me "nope that's all for today." So I asked "am I getting a cleaning?" She replied "no we don't guarantee cleaning the same day." So I'm thinking what in the world did I go in for today. If I had agreed to get the cavities done I guess I would have been guaranteed a cleaning? I left so confused. I have never been treated like that before. I have never been told I was not guaranteed a cleaning when that is clearly what I made an appointment for! We cancelled my husbands appt and WILL NOT GO BACK THERE AGAIN! In December, I called in (as a returning customer) that I needed to schedule my annual xrays/cleaning/exam. I needed to have it performed all in one day. I was given a date, over the phone, selected by their own employee. I arrived on that Aspen-selected date (after receiving emails and calls asking me to confirm), but learned that I was only scheduled for xrays. I would have to come back another day for a cleaning/exam. This got me very upset because I had made it clear during the December phone call that I needed to have all 3 services done in one day, because of my work and family schedule. Apparently I either misunderstood the scheduling person during the December phone or heard what I wanted to hear because no such appointment was made for me. So for the second time, but this time in person, I asked them to put me on the calendar for an xray/cleaning/examination, all to be performed on one visit. They accommodated my request Fast forward 3 weeks. I never received an email or phone call asking me to confirm my appointment, but I did not think much of it. When I arrived for my appointment, I learned that I was not on schedule. They immediately explained to me that I was not on schedule because I did not confirm the appointment. I was incensed when they told me I had to return on a 3rd date. I was then told that I was never on the calendar, which is inexplicable since I had scheduled it in person, with the manager. It also contradicts the initial explanation. Was I not on the calendar because I did not confirm or because I was never put on the calendar? After growing increasingly agitated, the new manager miraculously fit me in the schedule. Xrays and cleaning were performed by a wonderful hygienist. No issues except the obligatory upsell by the dentist to remove wisdom teeth. This is a poorly organized business that does not hold itself accountable. I heard excuses about computer glitches, new employees (scheduler on phone in December; office manager in January), and being so busy. To make matters worse, management needs additional training on how to defuse a situation. They have a complete lack of consideration for my time and they cant even pretend that they respect my position. A day later, after my head had cooled off, I receive an email asking for a review. Are you kidding me? Who wants a bad review? Ultimately Aspen Dental has a business model that disregards my time. It wants me to come in multiple times for what other dentists do in a singular session -- xrays/cleaning/examination. I challenge them to respond to my 1-star review. read more

It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to update this review to really point out all that is wrong with this dental office.Your initial visit might be the only good one. To begin with, the ladies and gentlemen at the front desk are the worst. They are so rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate. There have been times I call and someone will pick up and immediately put me on hold without letting me know the situation for unreasonably long hold times and poor customer service. Or my favorites I will get transferred mid sentence or just have the call hung up on me for no apparent reason. 9/10 the times I have called and there was an issue, I was in pain and looking for some help. Which they weren't at all the happiest to help. Mind you, I had already brought up my issues with the regional manager in person with Dawn present and NOTHING changed. Then she lied and said that the regional manager would be there the next time we came in to address another issue that had transpired and upon arrival she was not there. Dawn explained that she spoke to her directly and relayed the message. Again a waste of time, there was no reason for us to come in if it was not to speak with the regional manager or the owner of the office. On some days of my appointment I would bring Dawn coffee because at first she was so nice and willing to work with me, till I started spending money at their office. Then everything changed. They were no longer willing to help regardless of her telling me she would play with the numbers and help me out as long as I got insurance. Which i did. Then I was approved for a credit card that would cover the remaining balance. And still because of the horrible communication skills of this office nobody knew to check their mailbox over important insurance information my insurance was trying to communicate with them. Let alone the office communicating with my insurance over changes made to my account. Which makes a significant difference in what they approve and what they do not. Policy changed and they were no longer able to see patients without taking payment, regardless of how they handled my situation prior and all the fuck ups I've had to deal with with them. An example of said fuck ups: They did a filling on a tooth that needed a root canal and I ended up at their office in excruciating pain to the point that they needed to shoot me up with Novocain 4 times. Something I did not pay for. I needed an emergency root canal which of course they could not perform because they are NOT equipped with the specialists needed for such a procedure. Something that could have been avoided if the root canal was done in the first place. So I ended up at Orlando Endodontic Specialists, with Dr. Temple. He fixed me up and sent me out in less than hour. Hands down the best dentist I have dealt with thus far. Only issue here is that I had to come out of pocket $1200 because Aspen Dental DOES NOT have it all the way together. This happened twice. Second time, I was back in excruciating pain, for which the doctor had to shoot me up with Novocain yet again to get me out of pain. Only for me to have to go back to Dr. Temple because they are just unequipped. Moreover, my grandmother lives 45+ minutes away and they gladly wasted everyones time by having her come in to sign for paperwork, only for her not to sign because Dawn did NOT do her job. This happened at least 3 times. Wasting our time and money. Which could have been used towards future procedures. HORRIBLE communication between staff and patients, I cannot express this enough. Finally, to top it all off, I made the mistake of referring my mother to this office and she sat in the waiting area for over an hour with an appointment. Nobody communicated the technical issues they were having (which we found out after the fact) and were more than happy to cancel her appointment instead of helping or accommodating her. Update to my update. I am no longer an Aspen Dental patient and I am warning all others of this ridiculous place! This place is the most unprofessional dental office I have ever been to. As you can read in my original post, the scheduling at this office is impossible. You make an appointment for a specific time, get the confirmation email (AND confirm it), and then less than 24 hours before the appointment you get an email saying the time has been changed for NO REASON. I make 7 a.m. appointments for a reason, not because I can come in at 8! I have a job too; my kids go to school too; my time is important too! The most recent upset was the Monday after Easter. My son was scheduled for 7 a.m., due to THEM needing to reschedule it the month prior. No biggie. I receive the confirmation email on April 16th, and I confirmed the appointment for 7 a.m. At 9:04 p.m., Sunday, April 21st (Easter), as I was going to bed, I noticed an email (dated: 4/21 @ 12:04 p.m.) saying how excited they were to see my son the next day at 8 a.m. Hmmmm...I just confirmed his 7 a.m. appointment 5 days ago. I knew there was going to be a problem. We showed up at 6:50 a.m. and the office was not open but we waited. At 7:02 a.m. the office lady finally showed up and explained that they CHANGED all the appointments to 8 a.m. and had called everyone; NOT ME! I immediately cancelled the appointment and we walked out. This was not the first time, sadly, that this has happened. It happens at least every other appointment. I have to add, after my initial negative review, Aspen Dental sent me a letter stating they wished I had come to them first and they are sorry I am not happy. First of all, WHAT? You researched who I am and sent me a letter. Second, my hygienist (Pat) brought up my review at my next appointment and let me know it wasn't right (because you know things come up and times have to be changed). It was well known that my file reflected my negative review. Soooooo.... I changed it after a few decent appointments. However, my stepdaughter and husband were still being handled roughly and stopped going to this office 18 months ago. I however, endured the torture until now. The first thing I did after this last incident was call the complaint line that Aspen Dental has on their website. I spoke to a gentleman (Rich) who seemed appalled at what I had told him my issues were. He took my information and told me that someone would be reaching out to me to discuss. Well, it is now 7 days later and I have received ZERO communication from anybody. As I suspected, Aspen Dental does not care about their patients or reputation. This last incident pushed me over the edge. The same day (Monday, April 22nd) after walking out of Aspen Dental, dropping my son at home, and going to work; I called and scheduled two dental appointments with a new office (mine and my sons). Guess what? They got us in today actually, Tuesday, April 30th at 7 a.m. There were zero problems with scheduling. For those interested, I am now a patient of Greenberg Dental.
