Humana one dental informed me by letter that my current provider in Port Saint Lucie, no longer supports my 550C plan. I swallowed a crown on Friday, so I went to the Human one website to see if there are any Human one 550C providers in my area of Okeechobee.
Humana One website indicated the new Aspen Dental that recently opened near Home Depot in Okeechobee accepts 550C plan as well as others, so I transferred my plan, which I have had for 14 years to the local Aspen Dental in Okeechobee.
When I called and made an appointment, I gave them several bits of information including my Humana one 550C plan and membership number.
I told them my tooth is a little sensitive because I lost a crown and my main concern was to get a temporary crown as soon as possible to not lose my crown margins. They scheduled me for the next day, Saturday morning. I gave them my driver's license and my Humana one card to copy. I filled out all of the information for a new patient. The appointment went well, they performed a 360 scan, several x-rays and a gum analysis. Everyone there was very kind and considerate to a fault.
When I was done, the lady at the front desk stated, they do not have the 550c plan in their records and she will personally look up the plan benefits on Tuesday because she would be out of office Monday.
Realizing this a very busy company I waited for a call, and waited and waited. I entered the Okeechobee Aspen dental office on Tuesday, one week later. I told them I am still waiting for a call to schedule to look the treatment plan they had produced.
The lady at the front desk told me. Aspen does not have anything information yet and they would call me no later than tomorrow afternoon.
While heading home, not two minutes later, the office manager at the Okeechobee Aspen office called to inform me that the only 550C plan they accept is in the state of Texas and Texas only. Aspen dental does not accept the 550C plan in Florida.
If it took 2 minutes to verify or deny my Humana plan, why, why, why did no one contact me (for a week). In the mean time I still have sensitive tooth and am losing my crown margins.
10 days after my appointment I have to find another provider.
Thanks to Okeechobee branch of Aspen dental for horrible follow-up and bad communications , overall wasting my time and frustrating the hell out of me. read more
