My boyfriend went in for a consultation and while trying to ask questions in regards to the treatment Mark Petryna was trying to encourage was met with extreme hostility and degrading of the referring dentist. Mark Petryna kept cutting him off every time he tried to speak and trying to convey what his primary dentist had said course of treatment should be. Or to ask a question in general. Mark told my boyfriend the dentist only goes to school for 4 years and he knows more than he does and if he wasn't comfortable he could just leave. This very unprofessional and hostile situation was extremely uncomfortable and this oral surgeon should not be allowed to practice if this is the treatment he provides.

My family and I have had…read moreseveral botched procedures here because he would not refer us to a specialist for procedures that were clearly out of his realm of knowledge. Obviously, he is more concerned with milking every dollar from his practice that he can than at doing what is best for his clients. My personal experiences (my family has had several other nightmares including botched root canals) include... Dr. Miracle did a bridge for me to fill the gap left from where a baby tooth was pulled without a permanent tooth underneath. When I asked if it was my only option, he said "yes" and happily provided me with a bridge that in effect ruined the two teeth adjacent to the gap. I've since found a better dentist that informed me that I should have had an implant there and inquired as to why I chose a bridge instead. I also had him fix a chip on my front tooth which he "fixed" with a resin that was too dark for my teeth, opaque (my teeth are rather translucent), and globbed it onto my teeth leaving a noticeable bump where the resin overlapped. I assumed that since it was a front tooth this was the best I could hope for and dealt with being self conscious about it. The "fix" recently came off and I went to have it repaired by my new dentist. My new provider had it fixed in less than 20 minutes and perfectly matched the color and degree of translucency as well as grinding it down to be absolutely even with my teeth - I sincerely cannot tell where the fix begins and my teeth end. It makes me so angry and sad that my family and I spent years going to this dentist and being provided with less than professional work. I feel he took advantage of us so that he could make a few extra dollars instead of referring us to a specialist for complex procedures or taking the time to do things right himself. Perhaps my family ended up with the worst of Dr. Miracle's work, but I sincerely hope that new potential clients will find another dentist and that if they do choose Dr. Miracle that he does better for them than he did for my family.

They were able to see me the same day as I was having an emergency. When I arrived the staff was not only professional but very nice and welcoming. I mean so awesome that I wouldn't mind having another root canal. Ok maybe I don't really want another but I would drive from the other side of NC to go to this guy. Like I said before I had a bad infection and they got me in same day; however, once he began the procedure he was mostly concerned with how I was doing and if I felt ANYTHING! He didn't want me to be in any pain. Zero. So given that my tooth was so bad he wanted me to come back to finish and let my antibiotics do some more work in the meantime. Didn't charge me extra and didn't rush anything. This guy is a perfectionist and if you want your mouth taken care or properly then there is no where else to go. I have to say the root canal experience everyone warns you about was actually as enjoyable as a root canal could possibly be. I would give this practice 20 stars if possible.
