I have very bad dental anxiety. I scheduled my appointment there two weeks ago, When I walked in the receptionist was a wonderful lady, who greeted me. Then I got to the x-rays. The lady was really nice, She took her time, as she knew I was in a lot of pain. Then I went into another room and they let my husband come back with me, as I was extremely nervous. I saw the dentist then I saw the hygienist. They went over a treatment plan. After we went over the treatment plan, they sat my husband and I back in the waiting area. This part was the longest wait of the day. Once I got back to see the person in the office I understood why. She answered all of my questions and told me everything that was happening. I about had a heart attack when they told me the price of the implants. Then we decided that I would go the rout of the partials. I then scheduled my first cleaning. They sent my persciptions over to the pharmacy and I had went and picked them up. Came back for my first dental cleaning the Hygienist was wonderful. Took her time and showed me everything that she was doing. The referred me over to another dentist for root canal. They kept raving about them and I loved it there as well. Then today I went back for my bottom cleaning and she did a really good job. She was very specific with everything and showed me what to do. Now I have a plan to get my crown and stuff for both of my root canals. I have also scheduled my cleaning. They really made me feel comfortable. I will continue to go back there. read more

Listen to the Yelp reviews on here! Throughout my entire interaction, from booking an appointment to being there, I specified that I was only there for a cleaning, and everyone acknowledged that. Although I was a new patient, I wish there had been more transparency about the fact that I wouldn't be getting a cleaning that day. If I had known, I think I would have been more understanding of their business model. Instead, they presented me with a "treatment plan" without adequately explaining what it entailed. They quoted me $4,000, but didn't even review my X-rays with me; they simply listed what appointments I needed to schedule. I don't understand how I'm supposed to trust a business to perform procedures on my teeth when they haven't even cleaned them yet. When the staff went over the estimates with me, I asked for a copy of my "treatment plan." They said they don't normally provide that, but instead handed me a piece of paper with illegible handwriting and told me to give it to another dentist, who should understand it. I also requested that they send me my X-rays, and they informed me it would be quicker to send them to whatever location I wanted to go to. Overall, this appointment felt like a scam and a waste of time. I am extremely disappointed and believe more transparency is needed. I'm new to the area and used Aspen Dental because it's on my insurance plan. What a ridiculous, surreal, and frustrating experience! I made the appointment for a well visit, and told them that I'm due for x-rays and cleaning. I will say they did a very thorough job of x-rays, but they have this absolutely insane procedure to handle the first appointment in which they give you x-rays, discuss the results, and after they do an exam, they take you into another room with the office manager in which she then discussed the type of dental treatment we would need. I said, "Are we going to get a cleaning today or not? Because that's what I told the receptionist over phone and that's really why we're here." She said there are "different kinds of cleanings" and that my son needed a special irrigation because of his gingivitis and they could schedule that within two weeks, because it's considered "a bacterial infection." She then dumped the really bad news on me which is that that cleaning is over $1,100 and my insurance was only going to cover $75. I almost laughed at the absolutely insane price. Oh, but not to worry because they "had a payment plan." I flat out said we're not going to pay that. So I said how about just giving him a regular cleaning and she said, "No. We can't do that. He needs this special cleaning and then he can have the other one the next time he comes in. We can't go backwards." I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes because it was just so silly. So I said "Well, how about a cleaning for me?" She said, "Okay, let's book you but I need to warn you that we're booking all the way into December." I said "For a routine cleaning?? Are you kidding??" I said, "Every dentist on earth recommends a cleaning every six months. You want to give me an appointment for a cleaning EIGHT MONTHS from now. How does that even make sense??" So I told her we would find another dentist, and I canceled my husband's appointment and my daughter's appointment. I can't believe these people are in business! read more

Terrible experience. Was on my way to an 8 am appointment. Was in rush hour traffic and received a call at 745 that my appt. Would. Need to be pushed to 12 noon. I rearranged my day off and as 11 am approached I received another call that my appointment needed to be canceled. They booked me out another month. The day before my appointment I received a confirmation call asking me what I was coming in for. I said a cleaning routine visit? The agent told me it would be for xrays to determine the type of cleaning and if they had time they'd do the cleaning the same day.if not I would need a second appt. I'm still experiencing billing issues from a service done 8 months ago. The dentist has repeatedly failed to submit the necessary documentation for my root canal to my insurance company despite multiple calls to the billing hotline, the office, and my insurance company. Apparently it's easier to just bill you for a service that would otherwise be covered by your insurance than it is to submit a claim correctly. That on top of the scam that is booking an appointment for a cleaning only to tell me it's actually just a consultation appointment where they do a much more expensive dental CT scan instead of normal xrays & that I had to come back and make a second appointment for a cleaning? And the fact that the unqualified and totally spaced out receptionist speaks for the dentist regarding actual medical questions instead of being able to talk to the provider directly? I cancelled all further appointments and will be seeking care elsewhere from now on. read more

Money scam! 30 years never had any issues with my teeth, regular cleanings, brush and floss daily. I got new insurance and had to unfortunately go here. They start with a "consultation" where they take X-rays and simply tell you that you will be paying extra money and are unable to simply get a cleaning. I spoke to Kia Pierce and was then given several options as to what route I wanted to take in having my tooth extracted. I was given an appointment five days later for the extraction. All went well with Dr. Dawn Abousy and her assistant Sydnye. I thought everyone was great. I pray my next experience with Aspen Dental goes as well as this one. Only time will tell. read more

She got off the phone helped someone else never went back to the sign in board to call me up it's now 10:25 and I haven't been called up yet . Prior to showing up in person today, I called Aspen three times. 1. To set my appointment, ensuring I can avoid x-rays due to pregnancy, get a cleaning, and ensure they have COVID standards in place. 2. To verify all my information, since their online portal wasn't working 3. To re-verify my appointment after my husband had issues there with insurance; they wouldn't see him for x-rays or cleaning, just did an initial visit because they said we had the insurance wrong-even though we had it all on the portal So when I arrived today, I expected to fill out the paperwork & get a cleaning..but nope. First she tells me she had no idea I was pregnant, despite it being on every possible form I filled out for them, and was mentioned in all my previous calls- then they basically refused to see me until they got approval from my Doctor. I explained to her how I did all my due diligence pre-calling to clear it, and she said 'oh sometimes we get our calls routed to an outsourcing call center and they are incompetent?!" Went to the Glen Burnie office where the work was done,only to find out they couldn't repair it today! Now I know they are Temps but according to Adam I should already have my permanent bottom denture. In saying that I haven't recieved any communication from these people at all to tell me when to come in for the permanent ones. This place is such a horrible place to have dental work done. Turns out that's not true, and now I may lose everything I own trying to pay off what I owe to my insurance that I never wanted to use to begin with. That's why I got Care Credit, but they used my insurance anyway. They make you sign a Jiffy Lube type wavier before they do anything. Left three messages and by 4pm still no word. I called again for the fourth time and finally got through only to be told the dentist left for the day and there was nothing they could do for me and even if the dentist was still there they couldn't help me. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY; THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU - We wait an hour to get seen while about four people who have later times go in before us -When we first met one of the female dentist, she didn't introduce herself and acted like my mom had the plague. (My mom is also blind so she had no idea what was going on) no staff took the time to see she was blind -Last visit, we were put in a back room and were told "Ill be back" then wait 30 minutes just for them to finally come back "Im so sorry I forgot about you guys I forgot you were back here" REALLY? My moms disability is crucial and its hard for her to be in a wheelchair for so long and she was in pain and was ready to leave. But you forgot about us while my mom is crying and wants to go home? We did not feel appreciated at all. My mom already doesn't like to go out in public and they just made it worse. -Assistant on the phone lied and said that my mom could be able to stay in her wheelchair the whole time but then when we got there said "they didn't say that" and said if she couldn't "transfer herself" they couldn't do her surgery -We had to get X-rays and she cannot get out of her chair so when the time came they did it still and the woman who did it was very nice (The dental assistant is the only nice one), but when we needed to transfer our X-rays THEY TOLD US THEY "LOST" HER FILE AND "CANT GET INTO IT" so we had to meet her surgeon at a different facility with no X-rays. -We talked to the surgeon about the issue and you know what he said? He said that they told him that "she never came in and got her X-rays done" they LIED to her surgeon and did not admit their fault. When I tell you this made us so upset. -They called this morning to redo her X-rays since they were so unprofessional and unorganized that they LOST THEM AND BLAMED MY DISABLED MOTHER. But we have to pay for public transportation and now have to go out of our way for their freaking mistake. read more

I made an appt for a cleaning, they insisted I had to have an exam...I told them I did NOT want an exam, nor did I need an exam and that my insurance would NOT pay for it. I had a file folder of information and X-rays from my previous Dentist. The told me my current dental records and X-rays that were only 3 months old was not good enough. They claimed no worried, it was FREE to first time customers. They spent 2 hours giving me xrays and exam until my time allotment was used up and I had to leave with OUT MY CLEANING. Told me I needed $14,860 worth of dental work! WTF! And I still never got my teeth cleaned. Today I received an invoice for $232 for an exam that I did NOT WANT as was told would be free! They will NOT get paid by me, take me to court, you will lose. I will NEVER go back and have already set an appt with a different dentist. This the worst dentist office I ever been. My wife has been waiting for several weeks for her oral implant appointment. On the date and time of her appointment, we waited over 30min. I stepped out to get my phone as I live around the corn of this office. When they finally called her, I was already on my way back. My wife told them that I was less then 5 minutes from the office. The dental assistance said that she would go in and ask the doctor to see if it was okay to let my wife in for her surgery. The assistance came back out and called another customer to go in instead. She didn't even bother to come and tell my wife that they had cancelled her appointment. I got there in less than 5 minutes, and they told her that her appointment had been cancelled. It was disheartening especially for my wife who had waited for so long to have this operation done. She was turn away in less than five minutes. They told us rules are rules. This place doesn't even care about customers like my wife. I also cancelled my upcoming appointment with them and will never step foot this office again. I will take my family dental needs elsewhere, to a place and staffs that put their customers' need first. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My first check up here stated an hour late. I literally watched the hygienist walk in about 30 minutes after my appt was to start. BUT... she was awesome and made my next appt. Again today, 6 months later, I watched the hygienist walk in after my appointment should have started. This was a different hygienist but figured it would be fine. It was not. The hygienist was fairly rude from the start but became downright nasty when I told her about a sensitive area of my mouth and how I get super nervous when we have to work around that area. I also asked for a break because it was honestly the most painful cleaning I have ever had. She literally cut my gum and said well you're so anxious you're making it hard. Like it was my fault and I was the only person to ever go to the dentist with anxiety. She continued to be pretty nasty about my anxiety so I asked her to stop and left the appointment without finishing my cleaning. This place is awful. The office staff was condescending and less than helpful. I left there crying and in hysterics and not one medical professional thought to make sure I was okay. This place is garbage! X-ray tech left me in uncomfortable positions while disappearing for extended periods of time, was physically what I would almost characterize as abusive. my appointment was for 8:45 i got there are 8:25 and was told my appointment had been changed to 8:10 and that i was late and the appointment was canceled. no patients in waiting room, sign says walk in's and emergencies welcome and they still won't take me. i was told with a shrug that they don't care and it's nothing they can do! they are closing at noon for the holiday weekend and changed my appointment because they wanted to leave early, no call of changed appointment. no call of calanced appointment. despicable and will never be back. don't ever book with this company. and fron desk staff need to be fired. i am furious at the complete disrepect and total disregard for patient health and safety. nothing but uncaring liars. read more

Do not go to Aspen Dental. I had to come to them because of insurance change. My appointment was on a Monday. At my visit they were unable to verify my insurance so they still saw me and told me they would call me the next day to tell me how much it would be for my filling. I wasn't allowed to make an appointment until I got the price. The next day I waited but no call or email with the price. I called again (now Wednesday). The girl who answered said they were busy the day before and weren't able to call me. I asked if can I make the appointment but was told I had to wait to speak to Jessica. Jessica was too busy Monday, Tuesday and now Wednesday to discuss my treatment price. I asked to speak to the manager and was told Jessica is the manager but she's busy with patients that are in the office. (Mind you I am still waiting to get my service satisfied).
