Not only was the class perfect, well structured, and well equipped, but Anderson Ranch is just one of the most wonderful places to spent a week of vacation, while learning something cool and enjoying the Colorado mountains. The dorms a a bit sparse, but that isn't a complaint:-) Meeting very nice people, you wont spent much time in the dorm anyway. I saw the pottery people pull all-nighters all the time. It is just so much fun to do your own studies, watch others do very creative stuff (painting, wood work, pottery, etc.), and enjoy evening speakers events with truly inspiring Artists. They have a great cafeteria (with a delicious changing menu, always incl. a vegetarian option), a meeting hall, store with art materials and art pieces from the ranch, child care, and more. Each course had its own ranch house. Very cool! I hope I can be back soon, for another class.

Jose James was a talented young artist and very warm, everyone enjoyed it so much! This place is so beautiful and I'm glad that they collaborate with the Jas Cafe. So far the staffs were very kind and professional. If you order food or drinks here, they will add 20% service charge on your bill, so don't get confuse meaning you don't need to add more tips because it's already added. If you are feeling very generous than you can add on top of the 20 %. We didn't order any food here because we came here for the late show 9:15pm, so we only ordered drinks. I assume the food it's good here because it's the Cooking School of Aspen right?

We had an event here for about 40. We were very excited about the concept of having a chef do a…read morecooking demonstration and then enjoying a great dinner. The problem was the chef was snarky and really didn't have much interest in demonstrating anything. Thus, it was really just a dinner, not that unusual. The appetizers were great and the food was very good other than the service was very poor and it took forever to get served. This is not an experience but rather just a nice meal. Also, there were a bunch of unanticipated surcharges that were ridiculous and made the evening very expensive. Ask about each line-item charge before signing up for an event there. They charge an additional cost for renting their facility, hiring their chef, doing the cooking and then they add a huge service fee/tip.

So far, WOW, what a great place!! First year for our daughter. We finished student and adult…read moreorientation, toured the campus, got her moved in then spent time in the area. I'm generally hard to please when I comes to services for my kids, but I'm impressed. The student population is small and staff is sufficient enough that with a couple days, they seem to know the students by name on sight. They were warm, welcoming and especially helpful getting our questions and concerns answered before and after arrival. All the other students we met seem to be the type of kids I want ours to associate with... Being the "highest campus in America" made it a challenge for us flatlanders to move in and walk around but it worked. We'll see what the school years hold, but so far, I like it!

Shoot, they even have a microwave if you want to bring your own cup'o'soup or popcorn. We loved it. The weather conditions were pretty tricky, but the place itself was worth our drive. We have been skiing at Copper Mountain all week on our 3-day reciprocal pass, but on days where the conditions aren't as ideal, we check out other mountains locally that are free for us as well (with our reciprocal pass from AZ Snowbowl). Cooper is on the list in addition to Loveland and Copper. They have a pretty spacious parking area for a small resort and all the terrain you need. The most impressive part is the bunny hill-- it has one of the longest magic carpets we've seen in awhile. It allowed our daughter to finally kick the lease and gain her confidence. She spend the rest of our time at Copper skiing greens all on her own. I attribute that to Cooper! If you're all about the 'gram and just want to post that you've skied Breck, Keystone, Vail... this won't impress. But, if you want to ski a pretty decent mountain on a budget and are cool with eating at their Irish Pub or bringing your own picnic basket, you will love this place. We're happy we made the drive.

I have been skiing my whole life and have had Crested Butte on my list to ski for some time. I am glad that I finally made my way over here to ski their slopes. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is owned and operated by Vail Resorts. My buddy and I have Epic Passes and chose to ski here this past winter. This resort is geared toward intermediate to expert skiers as there are lots of blue and black runs. Overall, we had good snow and a fun weekend. We started our day off by taking Red Lady Express Lift from Base Area. We spent a lot of our time hitting the intermediate runs off of Paradise Express Lift. We eventually hit some black runs off of Silver Queen Express Lift. We didn't do it, but Rambo run is the steepest tree-defined ski trail in North America with a 55-degree pitch. That run looks insane. Crested Butte Mountain Resort opened in 1960. We stayed in town near the base of the resort and had a lot of fun. We were able to walk to the lift from our hotel. Crested Butte is a former coal mining town that is a popular tourist destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Mount Crested Butte is in the heart of the Elk Mountains and sits over 9,000 feet above sea level. The town is named after its iconic 12,168-foot mountain peak. You can see the peak while you ski from almost anywhere on the mountain.

Approximately 40% of skiing trails are marked as Double Black Diamond Extreme, so if you're looking for the most challenging terrain, then this is the place for you! But even if you're not an "advanced expert," then there are still plenty of runs that you can take it easy on... or that will push you to keep on learning and getting better! Of all the Vail Resorts, I feel like the Crested Butte team was the friendliest and most welcoming. Definitely try to plan your trip to Crested Butte for when they're getting some fresh powder, as most of the runs will be even more enjoyable! *****FIVE STARS*****
