I've have experiences with other realtors that made me feel they were just overpaid avenues to gain access to the MLS system. I really intended to do For Sale By Owner, and spent quite a bit of time looking into it. Boy, am I glad I didn't. Teresa was the real deal and hit the ground running. She had a winning strategy for every part of the procedure, and there were many, May parts to get through. Did you know the highest offer may not be the best offer? I didn't. Do you know how much it's in your best interest to disclose EVERYTHING, and when to do it so you don't get offers that just fall through leaving you starting all over with a tainted house? Do you know how to set a timeline with deadlines for showing, receiving and reviewing offers, details about escrow, how to manage inspections, requests for repairs and when to say no? I didn't, but Teresa sure did. In addition to all that, she's one of the warmest, most genuine people I've ever met. Everyone who meets her likes her. It's amazing but true. Her excellent people skills really add value. So there you go. If you have the opportunity for Teresa to sell your house, JUMP at it. It will be the best decision you ever made.

Selling we had a short 30 day escrow, but buying was a 90 day escrow. Teresa took the initiative and found us a temporary rental. Twenty Six years later when the time came to sell our current home, we called Teresa without hesitation. She had it sold in a single day at list price and no contingencies! Throughout multiple transactions, Teresa was seemingly available 24/7 answering our questions, giving us great advice and counsel, easing us through all the negotiations, inspections, offers, counteroffers and contingencies, even meeting with contractors and obtaining bids on our behalf! Her always positive attitude and endless energy easily smoothed over any issues. Over the years, we would see Teresa around town and at a couple of open house. She would always recognize us and immediately into easy conversation: housing market, kids, events, Ojai City politics, etc. Teresa is a professional who really knows her market, she works well with all buyers, sellers and area realtors. We know that anyone who obtains her services is very fortunate. We are currently in escrow with another home in another state. Sure wish we could find a local "Teresa Rooney!"

Our most recent and hopefully last move is to Oak View, CA and was by far the most complicated and yet seamless. The easy part entirely due to the experience, compassion and professional work of Char Michaels. Char was and is nothing shy of perfection, and continues to be. She has been with us every step of the way and in most cases ahead one or two steps. Melissa Hunter is the best real estate agent in Ventura County. It's that simple. If you want a…read morehouse in the area that is well suited for you, there's no other option. Melissa was the main reason we got our amazing house, and I don't think we would be living here without her. She made us feel like her only client, and kept us calm during every step of the convoluted and intimidating process of buying our first house. Melissa first stood out on getting back to us after reaching out on Yelp looking for realtors. It was easy to tell right away that she gets things done, which is absolutely essential in the cut throat and competitive real estate market in Ventura County at the moment. Melissa also took the time to get to know us to truly find a place right for us. On our first house tour, she had a very specific plan in mind to show us potential matches in different locations spread out around the area. It was mostly a fact finding mission, and it just showed how Melissa already cared about us and making sure we're happy in any potential place that we find. Good homes in our price range aren't readily available in this market, so we thought it would take awhile. We found our house in only nine toured houses all thanks to Melissa. We live about an hour and a half away from Ventura County, so it's not always easy to come out and see a home when it pops up, and speed is essential in this market. Melissa went the next day and took a video of the place to help us decide, and we submitted an offer just based on the video. Melissa helped us with the offer, and was absolutely essential as we countered three different times until it was our house. Melissa is very knowledgable about the market and the processes and kept us fully up to date on the other offers, and provided advice on how to make our offer the best possible for acceptance for each counter stage. Getting your offer accepted is extremely challenging, and that was only the beginning of this process. The 30 day escrow period is filled with landmines and potholes that Melissa helped us navigate expertly. We were thrown a ton of curve balls during the process, especially on the loan side of things, and Melissa was always there to chat, offer advice, and help as much as possible from the realtor side of things. We ended up not being able to close until 11 days after the original closing date because of the delay on the loan, but Melissa kept us at ease and on track with open negotiations with the seller so they didn't worry. We hit every disclosure date in plenty of time with Melissa in control, and even with all of the stresses, Melissa was always a calming influence. To show just how amazing Melissa is, her care for us didn't end when we got the keys. We had some issues pop up after move in related to our warranty coverage, and Melissa has been right there to help us file claims and stay on top of different service technicians. Melissa couldn't have done better in this whole process, as well as her partner Jason (who we never met, but he was always on top of all the backend processes, timing, and documentation). If you want a home in Ventura County, Melissa Hunter and Jason Walters are the only choice.

As a first time home seller, the process was a bit daunting as I was moving, cleaning out the old place, and trying to sell it but Jason was organized and had a plan in place that gave me confidence in the process. While you're wading through all of the paperwork, Jason and Co. work behind the scenes to list, market, and help organize any repairs needed. Jason walked me through his marketing plan and developed a timeline so I understood when things needed to be done. He and the team worked efficiently, but they were patient and friendly the entire time. I would definitely work Jason Walters in the future.
