Ketchup & Mustard

Ketchup & Mustard

I hate the fact i have to add this business to Yelp but the world has to know. In a place with as…read moreseemingly few options as Swansea you really could end up here. So to begin the horror story that is "Ketchup & Mustard" (really thats your name? Anyway) We entered this small takeaway at just after midnight, so early in the night for most concerned, there were three people ahead of us at the bar. It became apparent if you wanted chips or a kebab you would be served quickly. But pizza and burgers were also offered. The five of us each ordered a different pizza (one of us ordering 12" instead of 9"). We then sat and waited for 15 minutes. Our first pizza arrived, a margaritta, the base was solid and tasted slightly metallic, there was a scant amount of cheese on top but i suppose your average drunk wouldn't appreciate this. Anyway as one had come out the oven we thought ordering a taxi for ten minutes time was a reasonable assumption. Especially as the place was now empty but for us. So 15 minutes later our cab has long wandered off and we're still without pizza's. A mysterious 9" peperroni pizza that nobody ordered has surfaced and is now sat cooling on the counter. We go up to ask whats going on and are told they are especially busy tonight, we look around, just us. He offers us money off our pizza. We don't have any pizzas. another 10 minutes pass and at last two more pizzas arrive. the 12" (now only 9" in size) and a meat feast. Both suffer the same strange base deficiency though at least the toppings were more ample. So now half an hour into our "fast food" mission three out of the five have eaten. Another 5 or 10 minutes pass and the last pizza arrives. Not what he ordered (but at this stage we don't care) and forgetting entirely about the last pizza on the list. Again the manager pleas being overworked (we've noted perhaps four customers in our time here). And returns the money for the fifth pizza that never came. So after clocking a little over an hour in this place, missing two taxis and having one of our number go hungry i think its safe to say that you really can miss this place out. If this is their level when they've time to kill, god help them when there's genuine custom to be had!

Me and my friends went out last Saturday and found this recently open takeway. Place looks like…read morefast food chain restaurant does not like scruffy kebab. We had food that was great, even better was fact that there was nice sitting area so my poor feet could rest. Place is few steps off wind street, so there is a bit of privacy, nobody can see you having kebab in hand haha Anyway, we had great night out and few drinks I didn't realised until next morning that my phone was gone. I learned out about it when Ketchup & Mustard staff called next day one of my contacts to let him know that I left phone in their place. Thank you very much guys! This is that extra effort that is not easy to find nowadays. You are for sure my favourite takeway in Swansea and your food is great! Love you xxx

I am stunned that I didn't post this review sooner - it actually dates back to before the lockdown…read morebut I checked with a friend and no nothing has changed - it is still great! The restaurant is located on the penthouse levels of a high rise building close to the University of Swansea and perhaps more importantly (very) close to the sea and the beach. The views (so long as the weather is clear) is SPECTACULAR both day and night. Amazing m. So good in fact that we went twice in our 3 day stay. Oh yes the food? Very good, certainly the steaks etc. Service was excellent and the prices very reasonable - what more could you want? Just go - you will not regret it :)

I had no idea...I thought maybe it houses television studios but discovered actually it's just an apartment building. Let's get down to three experience...you take a lift up to the 28th floor- it's a small lift so expect to wait a little bit. When we got to the restaurant we were seated in a booth facing the view- if you can get one of these seats I would highly recommend. Otherwise there are tables and chairs or bar stools if you're looking for just a drink. The restaurant itself is surprisingly informal-jeans and a sweater was just fine. I was expecting something a bit more refined- maybe some nice white tablecloths and good glassware. Instead I found pine tables and clunky cutlery, which made it feel like a cafeteria with an incredible view. The decor is just rather out of date and could do with a refurb. The view is pretty cool as you have the marina directly below- we arrived at about 6pm just before sunset so we got to see it in the daylight and after dark. To start with we ordered two cocktails (there are just 2 on the menu anyway) before perusing the menu. I opted for the scallops with pea purée followed by the lamb rack, while my friend Elle opted for the pigeon salad followed by the fillet steak medium rare. All washed down with a nice glass of red. Scallops were decent although I was quite envious of the pigeon starter! The lamb rack was really delicious but you can't really go wrong with lamb in Wales! Elle said she enjoyed the steak so all in all it was a good meal. To finish we ordered some ice cream and the cheese platter- I'm obsessed with cheese so devoured it!
