It came nicely presented, the cheese was good, not too hot and in a nice, heavy metal bowl that kept it nice and warm, and the flavor was nice and balanced. The only real suggestion I had was that just good, plain broken french bread would have made it perfect - instead, overly seasoned bread stick thingys of something or other really brought it down a notch. Friendly suggestion: just use broken french bread or something like that please! Otherwise, it was a nice starter and took the edge off what was a ravishing hunger. Ready now for the main... Again, a new menu item: sea bass with potatoes and tomato sauce garnish. The fish was far from fresh (anything that tastes distinctly "fishy" is surely NOT fresh!), although it's braised presentation yielded a nice flavor. The small potatoes were the nicest addition: there were plenty of them that went with the single fish filet and this was the saving grace as I did push back from the table with my hunger sated. The tomato-based sauce was not to my liking. It tasted to me as if it was canned and not fresh at all. I won't be too harsh on that, though: I simply pushed it to the side and decided perhaps it was just my personal taste. I finished with a side salad (although I actually ordered the tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella) that was fresh with good greens and actually quite nice. I would have rated the experience higher were it not for the fact that the bill was quite high. All told it was well over $40 for an adequate meal. For that price the food was definitely below par. Had it been $20 I would have given the experience at least 3 stars.

Half an hour later... No sign. I hadn't even realised as had been playing on my phone :-) Asked the girl at the counter who without blinking said it would be ten minutes then told the guys at the back about my order. Coal Grill & Bar was a surprising change from these sometimes scary ventures in which I've gotten lost more than once... This place is either in or near the mall (can't quite recall anymore), so my expectations were low. For any American readers - I was expecting a British version of TGI Fridays or Applebee's so I was just hoping to find something worth eating after a long flight in. To my surprise... it was pretty darn delectable! We ordered the firesticks - I think we tried all flavors except the tiger prawns and were super happy with our choice. You can mix & match to try different flavors, which makes it fun if you're a bit of a foodie. The blue cheese sauce was AWESOME. This was in December so there were plenty of holiday parties going on, the place was busy but maintained quality service and all parties were well taken care of. Always ask if they have any deals on at the moment or you'll get charged full price - there's never usually a need to pay full price for a Domino's pizza! The menu is pretty standard, my favourite is the Texas BBQ pizza, and they often have guest pizzas on the menu. If you live in Basingstoke you'll get one of their menus through your letterbox pretty much every other day it seems! There's a new branch in Brighton Hill now so if you live closer to that they'll ask you to call there instead - so that's Hatch Warren, Cranbourne, Kempshott etc.

This pizza express is well presented, but perhaps a little small. Its car park is tiny so i wouldn't fancy trying to park there on a Saturday night! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and i love the fact that you can see the chefs preparing the food in front of you. I would recommend their garlic doughballs!!
