Update: I am changing my review from 1 to 3 stars because the owner has reached out for a second time and was very apologetic. It sounds like they have taken the appropriate effort to fix the situation. I'm sure their staff will do better from now on with these situations. I do think this place is worth another chance.
Aggressive lady at check in insisted that I should leave her a 25% tip before any service was rendered.
My massage was supposed to be $80, she made me pay before the massage, I wrote in a $10 tip. I would have given additional cash afterwards, if service was excellent. She started saying "No no no! It should be $20 (25%). I told her that tipping should actually occur after services are rendered and they also aren't required. I said she needs to increase prices if $100 is the minimum expectation on a 60 minute massage. She kept arguing about it and insisting that I give her this 25% tip before services. I canceled the card transaction. I actually had to do the cancel and void on the credit card machine because she either didn't read English well enough to know how, or she was pretending to be ignorant. Anyway, I made sure it refunded and I got out of there! I went directly to the massage place at the mall and had a 30 minute chair massage on my back. They charged $30 AFTER the service, which was great, so I left a well deserved $10 (33%) tip.
The owner did reach out and apologized. They offered a free massage, but I have no interest in returning. The lady made me feel awkward and terrible. I would honestly be afraid to allow such an aggressive person to give me a massage. Hopefully the owner either provides customer service training or finds better staff. read more
