We wound up coming to Cadde Grill House since our hotel was close by and the prices for food looked reasonable. We ordered the grilled meats for two as well as the lamb shish. The lamb shish I received was over cooked (a few pieces were burned) so the meat was not as juicy as I wanted it to be. The best thing on the plate was the rice! From the mixed grill for two the kofte was also overcooked, the tastiest piece of meat we received was the chicken which is what I'd order if I ever came back. The service here was good, we were promptly seated and our food came out within 20 minutes of us ordering. I just wish that our meat had been cooked a little better!

Mine was something called mevlana, which consisted of onions, beef, and sheeps cheese. My sister and mother in law had one that's like a pide, just beef and seasonings, which was quite superb in an understated way. The flavors came through beautifully and pure. My husband had something like and Iskender kebab which is pita bread cuts into pieces, lamb and or beef screwers with yogurt drizzled over topped with tomato sauce. Well, this one was missing the tomato sauce, (I've never been a fan of it) and it was outstanding. The flat breads are like nothing you've ever seen. They're like 5 feet long and came with fresh items you could layer. I wanted nothing to do with the freshness, and was totally fine with as it was. The decor was pretty nice too, which was really surprised with.

You don't have to go to this one, as there are maybe a dozen in the surrounding block, but this one was on trip advisor, so we went here. No plates or utensils.... They start you off with a sour yogurt drink, pretty good. Don't drink it all as it helps to calm the spice from the red peppers you're about to eat. We ordered by pointing to a picture of the food on trip advisor. We got the ground meat with the flat bread. They had chicken there also which i imagine to be awesome also. No idea what the meat what, I'm guessing lamb, but it also had some sliced gizzards in there that looked the size of chicken. The bread was phenomenally soft and fresh, and the the chilis.... don't be afraid. crush some up and eat them. They add so much to the flavor profile. The meal was dirt cheap at 43 TL. I'm craving it already.

We left for what we thought was going to be a 30-minute walk to the Heiropolis south gate entrance. After we were about a third of the way there we realized that it was going to be a much longer walk than planned. We decided to press on and accept our fate just as a car pulled up and offered us a ride. We were naturally a little weary until we realized that the driver was the owner of Yildiz so we jumped in and asked "how much?". He responded with something along the lines of "you ate at my restaurant, I give you a ride. No cost." Amazing. Natural we went back for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Quaint, family run business with great local fare. Highly recommended.
