The HK wintermelon red bean pastry is made with oil and cake flour, it has layers but is quite dense. The filling is minimal. I purchased from their hot food counter which is basically a Chinese food restaurant. The food was actually tasty and relatively cheap... definitely an easy stop on the way home if you know dinner isn't made. On my second and third visits though... unfortunately the rude customer service staff at the front lost them a star. At bare minimum say hello, thank you or smile. Throwing my receipt at me and pointing instead of replying doesn't work for me, as they spoke to each other about their weekend plans. It's also always a bit difficult as well when the majority of staff throughout the store doesn't speak English. Not the end of the world... I did get many steps in trying to find items myself! Lol All in all though, when I'm in town this store will very likely be a stop every time. Pros: Location (Derry Road & Bronte in Milton) in an outdoor plaza, store layout, cleanliness, selection of items, hot food menu station & taste, prices Cons: Staff (they can work on that), parking can be tricky when they're busy
