The one good thing about this place is that there are a lot of options. This is a very good thing because the food isn't that great. We were there for dinner after shopping and there were quite a few people inside (about 15 or so). This place is HUGE though, so it looked almost empty. The workers in the restaurant seemed to not really care that some dishes were almost empty, as they passed by, looked around, and left without replacing anything.
In addition, this place looks really rough. The ceiling is literally pieces of A4 papers and newspapers taped together. The decor looks like it was bought in 1982 and never cared for or refurbished. I really should've taken pictures. I couldn't believe my eyes!
As for the food, there were some positives about the experience. Some of the dishes were edible and the sushi rolls were ok as well. However... I struggled to chew through some of the dumpling wrappers. I had to spit out some beef. The rice took a few good, strong swings to release itself from the serving spoon. The shumai and potstickers were so sticky and over-steamed that trying to pick one up was an impossible task. I've never before felt so betrayed by bamboo steamers in my life.
I'm sincerely hoping this was just because it was late in the day, but I don't ever want to go back to find out. Just go to the kebab place next door! read more
