Unfortunately for me, it was just about the worst meal I had during my multi-nation trip this summer - Switzerland, Germany and Ireland ... seriously, these three countries aren't on top of the list in the culinary hall of fame, but they all did much better than this Vietnamese representation! Their pho came with dark brown sweet potato noodles, instead of the usual white rice noodles. I suspect that it may be hard for them to get authentic ingredients, as all of my vegetarian choices featured the same things - mostly just Tofu, even seitan, which doesn't belong to Vietnamese food.
