Whereas I was always treated well in local german stores, this visit to the Indian store gave me a rude shock. The surprise didnt end there- the maggi that I bought from this store was priced in INR and clearly marked as " only for sale in India, Nepal and Bhutan". Clearly not ethical business practices i suppose! Perhaps the person at the store needs to do some soul searching to understand if this is how he wants India to be perceived. Even worse, he didnt even give me a bill to understand how the cost was itemized. Never going back!

I went here expecting an…read moreIndian store and, what u got was, a huge warehouse full of Indian supplies and other Asian supplies. There are trucks pulling up constantly to load up and deliver goods to shops and restaurants around Munich. The shop itself is quite small in the back part of the warehouse and there was no one to help. If you did not know what you were looking for not sure you would get much help. Everything here comes pretty much in bulk. Big bags of rice, lentils and spices and some small selection of spices in small packets. The choice is limited if you are not buying bulk. I now know there is a place you can go bulk buy Indian supplies however the likelihood of me coming here is pretty small unless I decide to open a restaurant or host big parties ;-))

I so wish we had wandered in here several days ago!…read more Found this spot in the subway underground annex area just beside our hotel in Munich and loved the recycling stations for plastic bottles (where you are printed a receipt to take and get your credit), fresh fruits, delicious snacks, and cheap bottled water and soda and juice! We spent a fortune on drinks while here and next time will search for an HIT to stock up! They had loads of teas, muesli, snacks and other items and were well-stocked. We were impressed with the grab and so sushi section as well.

The produce looked pretty good and I ended up getting some blackberries for about 3€. They do have a bakery section if you need to grab breakfast for the day. Wonderful selection of candy and drinks. Get all of your Haribo candies here. It's best if you bring your own bag if you plan to buy many things as they charge for bags here and it's good to be environmentally conscious anyway.

So in terms of location - perfect as you can do most grocery and household shopping within 100m of this place. The selection here is ok and the staff can be friendly depending on the day or the week. On weekends you can forget about service ;-)) I rarely buy fresh produce or meat at this, or any other supermarket as, I prefer to do those at the markets and local shops. If you want reasonably priced things for your kitchen & cooking this is a good choice.

I stumbled into this rustic looking store to find hoisin sauce and sesame oil. I don't know how I managed to get lost in this small store. However I was overwhelmed by the boxes and empty wrapping. There was a funky smell in the store and I couldn't find my way around. I was lost and some packages were dusty. Not the best place to buy anything.
