There is an xray unit but this is only open at certain times so more often than not you will have to visit the larger Kent and Sussex hospital in Tunbridge Wells. Their main focus is care for the elderly who are recovering from illness/injury which means they can stay nearer to home. I had all my ante-natal care here during my first pregnancy and the midwives were fantastic. There is also free parking in the hospital car park which is a rare thing!

I'm not going to comment about individual services - with the NHS it can be entirely down to who you are due to see, about what and when. So, instead I'll concentrate on the facilities available and access: The hospital is served by at least 5 buses, but only the 261 and R1 actually enter the grounds. Most ward visiting hours tend to be 2-4pm and 6-8pm, though the nursing staff are pretty flexible if you give 'em advance warning. Visitors are pretty well catered for: there is a coffee bar and restaurant open during daytime hours, a newsagent which stays open longer and various vending machines. Tip: Finding a parking space at peak times is enough to give you a coronary however (as do the charges), so I recommend using the Sainsbury's car park next door. The hospital is pretty quick to get to from most places, as it is on the A21.

I was also worried about my unborn child. The dr that I saw was so pantronising. And spoke down to me as thou I had wasted her time, and was suggested that my pain was just due to growing pains! Please I dont choose to want to sit for two hours on my only day off to be told this. It turned out that I had uti. I asked the dr if she could check the baby's heartbeat as I was concerned she advised that they didn't offer this service due to patient misuse (which she was directing at me)!!! I have worked for the NHS for 18 years. And have never been so disappointed with the service.

I thank my lucky stars for having re located to this surgery, actually I thank my chiropractor who told me about them. Not only was the doctor quite thorough in my daughter's health check, he listened attentively to what I was saying, re assured me that it was nothing to be worried about (a viral cold that would go away in time, there are no medicines for that) and gave me some home remedies, which worked. Me and my husband were given appointments for standard health checks the moment we registered. It is a small surgery, which comes to show big is not always better.

They don't seem to have their own website so NHS Choices and Southwark Council are the de-facto authoritative sources, and these still says 6pm, as do all the data aggregation websites like yelp. Having said that, I have been here once before and it's a modern clinic with a computerised queueing system and fancy condom dispensing vending machines. The waiting times are no worse than at other NHS walk-in centres (i.e. terrible). Even though Artesian is right next to where I work, I'm just going to go to Guys@St Mary's in Paddington instead which runs convenient late-night clinics instead of closing at four.
