This is my hometown library so therefore it is my first option since it is 2 minutes always from my…read morehouse. The building is beautiful and they have updated the inside. Book shelves look more organized there is a nice kid section with stairs that's take you to a "treetop" sitting area upstairs. There is a community room that hold certain activities and events. There is some seating in designated areas. There is even a cute fireplace in the room I'm sitting in with tables and comfy chairs. There is a "study area" for school kids. This is the downside. The middle school is right across the street so kids come over after school and wait for their parents to come pick them up. Kids can be loud and abnoxious, talking loudly about alcohol and drugs. *rolls eyes* I know I've been that age before but it's distracting and hard to concentrate on work or reading.. the staff is pleasant and available to help you. I like to come here alot with my laptop and coffee for a nice place other than my house to work and study or just play on my phone. It's a change of scenery and plenty of brightness. It's convenient but could use some help for relieving new books. They can be hard to locate here if there are any. I just like coming here since it's pretty clean and close by.

This place is basically the reason I am a literate adult, hold an MLIS, and had any perspective on the outside world as a child. The collection was old and small. The old building was pretty majestic - a real historic landmark - and I'll never quite forgive them for moving locations. New is not always better. The librarians knew me well. I used to BEG my mom to take us here when we were kids. Not to the movies, not to the mall...to the library. The magic place where I could get BOOKS for FREE. As an adult, I've sought refuge here when visiting the fam as it is probably the only place in Ashtabula County with wireless internet. The best memories of my childhood by far are of the GPL.

Not a fan of their hours but so happy to have finally made it here! This place definitely qualifies…read moreas a hidden gem or a less-traveled CLE shop. I could easily spend hours here, and did, last Sunday! What gorgeous decor, layout, vibes and selection they have! Workers were really friendly as well. The prices of books were high though--no discount at all for new books. Fine to support local but this is why the library will still always be my favorite. What I was confused about is how the books are organized because it is not by author nor by used/new. I'm pretty sure new books were placed right next to pre-owned ones on the same shelf... I did enjoy all the gift and merchandise displays. They were all set up in a way that looked irresistible to buy! My BF bought this photography coffee table book he was really excited about and I got a children's novel illustrated by Jon Klassen (big fans!).

The people working there were very knowledgeable and friendly. The book collection alone is incredible. There is multiple room rooms and the sanctuary holds very old and important books and is definitely interesting to look around in. They also have a cute gift shop that has very cool gifts and handmade items as well. Totally a great find if you are looking for something fun to do, or just looking for a few books.
