Ashley has a lot to offer but it's not all quality. I've gotten quite a few sets from Ashley over the years. Unfortunately, most of the sofas are in the trash. I've had issues with both the pillow cushions and the wood. I do still have two very nice upholstered wingback dining chairs that have held up well. Things are made like they used to be. It seems as if they're manufactured to break down quicker. However, sales are ran often which helps the cost. The service has been good. I would suggest to never purchase fabric insurance -- it never works out. You would be better off buying scotch guard spray and protecting your furniture that way. read more

In store the folks are great. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Delivery date was set and the bill paid in full. Now the date is a month later, the piece that was in stock is backordered and nobody will return a call, and the answers we do get are vague and non-comital. Went into Ashley to purchase a mattress - was working with sales person Diana. She was reviewing the features and benefits of the mattress to assist in making a decision on what would be best for me. She excused herself while I was trying the mattress. While I'm waiting on her to return this Khaled comes over wearing a white lab coat and introduces himself as the Sleep Specialist. Told him I was already being helped by Diana. He proceeds to tell me how important it is to get the right type of mattress and that money should not be an issue when it come to a good nights sleep. I kept looking for my original salesperson to come back. Instead of this joker in his lab coat. After a few more minutes of listening to his rambling I decided enough was enough of pressure tactic used to pressure you into buying from them. Only to be angrier and more disappointed in the fact that Diana was seated with other salespeople chatting on a sectional in the middle of the store and she had no intention of coming to see if I was interested in making a purchase. So my house burnt down back in October after it was done I went to Ashley furniture in Merriville Indiana spoke to a manager named John told him exactly what I wanted when the furniture came in it was wrong they sent me a $650 piece that was not supposed to be included and they charged me for it. I've done everything in my will power to try to get my money back and they will not help me at all, please be aware of this place they are crooks and at this time $650 means a lot to me trying to rebuild my life after the fire . **Update** After months of getting the run around we finally received our furniture... however of course it was damaged and not just minor damage but actual structural damage to the chaise. The arm was dented approximately three inches deep by 12 inches wide. In other words even Hellen Keller would be able to see the noticeable damage let alone feel it. After talking with customer service (due to the delivery drivers practically sprinting out of the house" a new one was ordered. Six delivery dates have come to pass with each time being pushed back farther and farther. At this point just go to your local high school woodshop class for better quality and I guarantee better customer service than this joke of a store. Take everything that they say with a grain of salt. My experience has been so awful that I made a yelp account to review this store. First off the sales rep while at the store wanted to talk about hitler with me. I wish I was joking but unfortunately I am not. We were promised a delivery date which has come and gone which I understand to a degree with how Covid has caused many problems. However when checking in on our order I have gotten three different answers. This would be mildly acceptable if each answer wasn't ten minutes apart. How can a total of 30 minutes change the delivery date and time so significantly. My husband and I purchased 9k worth of furniture on September 19th. We were told it would take four weeks maybe sooner. It is going to be eight weeks this Saturday. I called at the 5 week mark and was told it would be here November 2nd. I reached out to our sales person Steve on that Monday through text. He said the scheduling manager would contact me Wednesday. No call no updates. I text Steve a couple more times. No response. I am very disappointed and am about 2 seconds away from canceling our order. Jakob was the sales rep assisting with the purchase of 3 twin bed frame, 1 twin mattress and foundation, 2 matching dressers, 1 Queen size mattress,foundation, frame, match dresser. 11/08/23 Delivery was made and only was available to assemble the Queen size frame because the sales rep forgot to add the three twin size bed rails. Called the store manager John to inform him of this and he had them to ship the rails out right away at no charge. When the confirmation email was delivered i notice they were going to deliver the bed rails to an address I lived at 8years ago when I made my very first purchase at Ashley Homestore. Called John back to inform him of this error and he corrected it. Today 11/11/23 Three twin bed rails arrived and I was told by the delivery guy I have to assemble myself it's easy. If the bed rails was on the original order and delivered with original order all four beds would've been assembled but since Ashley Homestore dropped the ball multiple times with my order. I'm left to self assemble three beds that's paid for. Then there's the email asking about how satisfied am I well that's a rhetorical question (I'm pissed) . Completely done with Ashley Homestore. Update... I ended up going into the store in Sept 2021 and spoke with the salesman and manager. Magically, they all of a sudden were able to get a bed from the warehouse and could now deliver my furniture. Three days later my furniture was delivered and damaged. Right away i talked to the guys to set it up and said I did not want to accept it damaged. They told me they leave it here and someone will call me. I called and emailed the manager right away stating that the bed was left at my house damaged. I sent pictures and they agreed it was unacceptable. I've called and asked for follow ups and nothing. So for another 5 months now I have just been hanging with my damaged bed. What a waste of my money. Would of had better luck going anywhere else. BBB finalizes the complaint against Ashley today. Over 6 months and Ashley can't make it right with a customer spending thousands of dollars there. Repeated delivery of damaged items, theft of homeowners property, constant runaround from the Ashley escalation Dept. Cyndi, Turyna, Michelle, Pablo, nobody could rectify all my issues. They kept responding to me and BBB that they are going to fix the problem over and over. Just a big business selling so much crap that a few issues don't matter to them. Save yourself the headaches and buy elsewhere even if it costs more. You will save yourself the frustrations and wasted time. I'm almost 50 years old and this is the worst I have ever experienced. Badly assembled top of the line sofa, gouges, dents, scratches on wood. Bought a coffee table and end table. Stephanie was unenthusiastic about my purchase. She showed no emotion, and acted like we were wasting her time. Complete lack of customer service. Also called the corporate office to check on delivery, and their customer service is likewise terrible. No updates on my delivery as promised. I was told I would receive text messages every three days regarding my delivery. I received one saying it would be delivered 8/9. The woman on the phone basically called me a liar since they are closed on Sundays, but I have the text to prove it. They then told me I'd receive my order on 8/12. Still no order. Now it's pushed back to 8/21. We will see if it actually arrives. While the corporate issues may not reflect this store, Stephanie was not helpful or enthusiastic either, even though I provided her with a commission check on my purchase. I will NEVER shop at Ashley again. We purchased 4 pieces on Dec. 10, 2022 from the Merrillville location. On January 3 they were delivered. The people who delivered the furniture were high and smelling of weed, did not take off their shoes or anything and it was a rainy nasty day....far from the "white glove delivery" they tell you. After they left I realized the back of one of the pieces is broken. We can NOT get a hold of anyone to replace it. I do NOT want a technician to come to my house to fix something that came BROKEN. This is horrible business etiquette. Everytime we try to talk to a manager or someone, we are hung up on. We just built a house and dealt with SO many retailers and never have we been treated this way with such terrible customer service. Made a sectional purchase on 11/06/2023 after 3 attempts they continued to deliver the wrong piece. I was way to generous with giving Ashley all this time to deliver but finally had enough. The Merriville location have great customer service to close the sale but after the sale is horrible which is a win for the store and a loss for the customer. They do not answer the phone or return calls & I was initially told that I could not get a refund because of a 7 day policy but I insisted that, that was not an option so they offered me a discount -ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Jake the salesman sent me a chair and ottoman that didn't match. Chair is gray ottoman is white. Called Costumer service immediately and was on the phone for 2 hours only for them to tell me to contact the store. I went to the store only for them to tell me to contact customer service. I bought a couch and kitchen table In July 2020 for about $3500. Didn't receive it until late October 2020, March 2021 the couch broke, April 2021 the table broke. Ashleys repair company was out to my house 4 times and my couch is still broken. Finally got a new table October 15th 2021. They can't fix the couch and won't give me a refund, they just want me to pick out another piece of junk couch they make. Ashley's quality is awful, don't spend a dime in this companies stores. I went to this furniture store yesterday. My son was looking for a couch for his new apartment. Although they were not busy and there were many associates, not one came up to us to ask if we needed help. I even saw one man look towards us and walk the other way. So, when we found the couch he wanted to buy, I told my son we could just order it online because none of the associates deserved a sale commission (btw - I don't know if they even work on commission anymore). When we went to the website, the furniture we were considering ALL cost less online than in the store. I'm not talking 20 or 30 less, I'm talking over $ 100. I wish I was able to give zero stars. You're hounded from the moment you walk in by extremely aggressive sales people. We bought a set of a sofa, loveseat and chair with the warranty. The chair broke right away and when I attempted to utilize the warranty I wasn't given even the value of the same chair. I ended up using the warranty amount to purchase a lesser value chair. The chair was supposed to be sent out in a month due to production issues. The chair never came. I called and was told the chair would come and it never did. I went to the store and was told that they would look into it and call me back which never happened. At this point I'm pretty sure this is just the scam they run to get you to give up and never honor their warranty. I'd never do business here again. read more

I ordered a sectional/ottoman (three pieces total) three months ago and paid in full in the store. With the COVID-19 lockdowns, I understand them canceling my first delivery and scheduling it two weeks later. Delivery attempt 2: Ashley's warehouse called me to confirm my delivery. I agreed and they said they'd deliver my two items. I said I ordered three. That's when I learned the chaise was on back order but would be available "in a week". I said let's postpone one more week so we would get all three pieces. Delivery attempt 3: Scheduled for a Friday. I called Monday to verify all three pieces were there. Yes. I called Wednesday. Yes. I got rid of my living room furniture in preparation for the delivery... and get a call Thursday late afternoon: they don't have the chaise. I did tell them I called to confirm and they apologized. We scheduled for ANOTHER week out. At this point, I am calling customer service and opening tickets... but no one is contacting me back. I begin a schedule of calling the Merrillville store 10 times a day every day and get the message they're closed. Indiana has reopened by this point, and their corporate call center confirms they're open but also cannot reach them. Delivery attempt 4: Exactly the same as three: called twice, confirmed all three pieces were there, late Thursday I'm told they're not. I have 7 open tickets with their call center and not one person has replied. My initial call was open a full month before. I still call Merrillville daily, which is what the customer service reps recommend. (Note: they say to push "3" if the phone call does go through or else you're routed back to them.) I also have requested two supervisor calls. At the time I'm writing this review, neither supervisor has called me back. Delivery attempt 5: I get my regular "thursday call" saying the chaise is not there, although the paperwork states it is available in May. (Delivery was May 22nd. We were almost through May.) The person on the phone said just take the sofa and ottoman and IN ONE WEEK the chaise would arrive. I explain I was told that since April 6th and she promises this time. I agree. DELIVERY DAY: the delivery men bring the wrong-facing sofa piece. They say to call Merrillville and get to hear my tale of calling them multiple times daily for 1.5 months. They take the wrong-facing sofa and I call customer service AGAIN. NOTE: When you call customer service, you don't get to speak to anyone until you hold anywhere from 25-1:05 minutes first. Trust me. I've called over 20 times. They apologized and state they're putting in an URGENT request and I'd get a call back within 3 hours. I asked what to do if I'm not contacted. "call back." Of course I didn't get a call... so I called back again. This resulted in the person on the phone stating they were out of the sectional I ordered well over TWO MONTHS PRIOR. Today was the first time I reached someone in the store. I'm told their phones were down for "one week". Try 1.5 months, excluding the time they were closed for COVID-19. I am now told the absolute earliest I can get the sectional is the second week in JULY. FOUR MONTHS AFTER I ORDERED IT. I asked about loner furniture or SOMETHING they can do, not only because of their constant screwups, but for the HOURS I've spent into talking to their phone reps, waiting on hold, emailing sales managers (that's right Brian, thanks for not writing back), not to mention the WEEKS I've gone without furniture. I asked what Ashley's policy is on this. "Uh... we're sorry for the inconvenience... yeah I don't know why they didn't call you..." STAY AWAY. THEY STILL HAVE MY MONEY AND I STILL CANNOT REACH ANYONE. Three months is long enough. I'm heading to the BBB. (PS, look them up on the Better Business Bureau site. Think very hard before making a purchase from Ashley Furniture. I ordered a bed on 8/13/20 I was aware it was on back order that was not the problem when it was finally delivered on October 8th 2020 the footboard was damaged and was left on the truck. They assured me that a technician would get in touch with me to correct the problem. I received a text that my footboard would be delivered on 10/15/2020 so I made arrangements to be home my delivery was scheduled between 12:45 - 2:45pm no one showed. The driver said he was unable to find our home and he did call which I returned his call within 3 minutes. My missing piece was not delivered. So now I have a bed in boxes with a missing piece and the delivery driver will not return. Shame on Ashley Furniture for terrible customer service. Our shopping experience was amazing! But our delivery was awful. They said they would call us 2 days before delivery and all they did was send a text message. They said that delivery was supposed to be from 9:30am-1:30 pm which is not bad it's not too early since I have a baby that wakes me up at night and I hardly get any sleep, well the day of delivery I receive an automatic phone call at 7:30 am saying they are on their way already to expect them at 8:30! Couldn't go back to sleep once I hung up the phone ! They got here at 8:30am and they were messy. Garbage all over the place and they didn't even wait for us to check out our furniture to make sure everything was ok with it. So overall store and employees amazing!! We ordered bedroom furniture early summer and on 9/3 the furniture was delivered. I accepted delivery and the nightstands were out of the box, the headboard still was in the box. They brought all three pieces up to our bedroom. Upon further inspection later that night, I realized that the bottom drawer of one of the nightstands was defective and didn't slide properly. I called the store numerous times with no luck. I also tried to email the salesman via the card provided at the time of sale. On 9/4, we received a call from an unknown number that the boxes from the nightstands along with the delivery slip that I signed off on with my personal information had been dumped on someone's private property by the company who had delivered the furniture. Mind you, we PAID for delivery. Apparently a lot of other peoples stuff had as well. They were going to file a police report against us for illegal dumping and Ashley claimed that they were going to send someone out there to clean it up but they never did. We were supposed to receive a call back from the warehouse manager, nothing. The were supposed to give us the number of a regional manager, nothing. Meanwhile, we were assured that the headboard could be used without a footboard and rails by the salesman upon sale. That it could be drilled into the frame of the bed frame. It's impossible to do since it's about 6 inches longer on each side and if we were to do that, it would split the headboard. Now we're stuck with a headboard that's useless just sitting in our spare bedroom. We can't do anything with it. I've gone into the store and was promised a callback since no one answers the phone there. I received nothing. I have a toddler and can't keep going in there to just keep walking out with no resolution. Ashley has lied to us, committed a crime, and in short, did bad business by delivering a product that wasn't up to standards. This is the second purchase experience I've made with Ashley and this has FAR surpassed the bad experience of the first. We have been trying for months to get furniture that wasn't banged up and looked used. Their customer service at the Merrillville store is horrible. I have never given a review like this before but we are so extremely frustrated! It took 5 months to get our furniture and when we did, it was very messed up. They have resent the flawed pieces 4 times...every time it has been a mess! They actually sent items that had already been rejected by someone else! Even the delivery guys were shocked at the terrible quality of the items that were sent. We are still waiting resolution almost a year later. My wife and I were very pleased with the customer service we received from the Ashley staff. From the moment we entered the store, until the time we left, we felt we were treated very special. We purchased a king size Temper-Pedic bed. Our salesman was very thorough in educating us about the different selections they offered. We felt very positive with our choice. The delivery of our bed went very smoothly and promptly. Since the bed arrived to our home two months ago, we have not had a bad night's sleep! I bought my daughter a bed for her birthday from Ashley HomeStore in Merrillville, IN on February 5th. The bed was delivered on February 12th damaged and with no hardware. I was told that someone would come back out to bring the hardware as well as the piece that was broke. I called the same day and was told that they could not tell me when someone could come back out but that someone would contact me in 24-48 hours. I asked for a refund but was told that there was no refunds. One week later Ashley sent someone out to put the together. However, the delivery person brought a headboard (which we already had and did not need) and still no hardware. They did not have the broken piece and did not know anything about it. He was unable to put the bed together and was very rude. It is Tuesday, March 2nd and this bed is still not together. I have called, e-mailed and even went back to the store to talk to the manager. I have been hung up on multiple times. I have been lied to multiple times. I am very patient but today my patient has run out. My child has not had a bed since February 11th. I gave away her previous bed knowing that she would have a new bed February 12th. Since it's a brand new store, we shopped there first. Great displays, and it wasn't cramped like other stores. We then hit all the other furniture stores in NW Indiana, even the Ashley in Schererville, but ended up buying the 2 bedroom sets at the Merrillville store. Why? Best selection, and by far the best price for what we needed. Plus everyone there was so pleasant and nice. Our salesperson was Mary, and she was so helpful in the whole process. I normally only review restaurants on Yelp, but this experience deserves a review. Pros...see above. Cons...Construction in front of building. You have to enter from back.
