The initial experience with Ashley was great - Ryan was very helpful in the store when selecting and purchasing the couch. We were told one piece of our couch needed to be ordered so we had to wait a few weeks for the delivery. When they came to deliver the couch they had one wrong piece so we were left with only part of a couch. I have called customer service multiple times, no one ever reached out to us to fix the issue. They told me the couch piece was mislabeled and the one we need is on back order. I have not been told a clear date for when we can expect the couch and no one has has worked with us to solve the issue. I was hoping for at least an expected date or promise that we would be the first delivery stop. Very disappointed that no one has been helpful or accommodating and that I have had to call them multiple times. It has now been a month and we only have part of a couch sitting in our living room. read more

My experience at Ashley Furniture - Maplewood was a great one. Aimee was fantastic over the phone and in-person! She gives you her time and day, unlike other salespeople who try to juggle multiple customers at the same time.  I called checking if they had a piece I was interested in and if it went with another item I had previously bought from Ashley Furniture - when I arrived, she put the two pieces together so I can visualize.  I cannot say enough good things about Aimee and this location. All the items I was interested in were in-stock AND shipped literally the following week. No ridiculous wait times like their online site and other Ashley Furniture locations.  Any issues with the furniture were promptly addressed. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Our sales guy was great as was the other woman who helped us while he was on a call. I like that they do not hover and give you time to browse. After searching around at several different furniture places we finally found our couch and loveseat at Ashley. We were there on Superbowl Sunday so the place was dead and lucky for us we happenend to stumble in on a discount day. We received an additional discount. Delivery was pretty fast. We ordered on a Sunday and it arrived on a Wednesday which was enough time for us to get rid of the old stuff. Delivery guys were nice,took their shoes off and moved it in and out fairly quick. I would like to say I have bought a few items in this store before and it's always been a pleasant experience. This time I came in looking for a recliner, I wasn't going to purchase it today unless I found a good deal. Ashley was having a sell so this night was a perfect night to stop in. We were greeted by MICHELLE she was very low pressure, informed my girlfriend and I about the sales going on and pointed us in the right direction. I have always like Ashley Furniture and they appear to always have what I need, I enjoy having good financing options and very helpful staff. I looked over several choices and finally found what I was looking for, they told me it was at the Fridley store so I went there the next morning at picked it up. I was in the market for a new sectional and should have steered clear when I called ahead to ask about the selection and was "transferred" to sales only to have the call disconnect. I called back and finally received an answer. After persisting and deciding to come in and check out the selection I waited quite awhile for the sales guy to help, (granted he may have been the only one there and helping another customer) but he did not apologize for the wait nor did anyone else offer to help in the meantime. I should have already left. Eric was the sales person and must have already met his commission or something as he was dismissive and inattentive. I was very interested in buying one of the sectionals but his attitude turned me off, went with another store with far better customer service and quality. Won't be going back, this store needs to watch who they have helping their customers because they lost a sale. read more

Reviewing this is hard, much like shopping for furniture. We had some extra money in our budget from our move so we decided to get a new couch. My husband wanted a non-leather sectional and I wanted a reclining function (we now have a single leather sofa that reclines, so go figure). We were totally lost in terms of what we were looking for. I think that smell of lostness and desire for something new attracted the salesmen to us like sharks to blood. We were greeted almost immediately, which was nice, and our salesmen did a good job of walking us around the store. Now I have no real complaints against our salesmen. He was nice and did a good job dealing with our lack of clarity. What I take issue with is that they weren't 100% honest with us. We had no experience with furniture shopping. We ended up getting a couch somewhere else because the salesmen took the time to explain everything to us. We were taught about different types of leather, why no one has mechanical recliners anymore, and other important things. The focus at Ashley was just to get a sale out the door. They did get us to buy a sectional after we were beaten down and tired. That is where my second issue comes in. This salesmen got us to buy a bonded leather couch. Bonded leather is basically leather scraps turned into pulp then mixed with essentially glue and put on to a piece of paper (in really simple terms). We were sold bonded leather as a great alternative to real leather, but with all the benefits. We ended up canceling the order because the couch wouldn't quite fit the room in terms of size, and after thinking about it we were not fans of the leather. Turns out we were right to be weary of the leather. The salesmen who sold us our couch explained how bonded leather is the junk leather of materials. He told us if you ever hear the words "bonded leather", run for the exit. The salesmen at Ashley had not gone through this long talk about the differences in leather and in fact had sold us on how great bonded leather really was. The prices here are cheap, and that seems to reflect what you will get. It looks good on the outside but lacks the staying power of quality. 18/100 read more

The sales guy knew what I was looking for. He was dope! One of those 80's style furniture salesmen. His name is Craig and he doesn't mess around. He did the whole upholstry protector demonstration by showing what it does with stains etc. They were running a 30% off sale on everything and I felt their prices were lower than most furniture stores in the area. Low pressure. Gave me a print out of what I was interested in and all the prices. However, the furniture is pretty bland. If you want contemporary you pay for it - try Macy's, West Elm, or Room and Board Outlet. read more

I gave this place a two star only because of customer service. The sales people know how to help you and do their jobs. They can help you with any questions or any financing that you need help with. They made sure I understood everything to warranty and upholstery protection. Now comes to the customer service area smh. So I had my furniture set for delivery on a Thursday which they called a week ahead to get that scheduled. They called Wednesday and asked if we had it for pick up or delivery... like wtf .. didn't we have delivery scheduled ahead smdh...I didn't actually say that, but wad thinking it. So I told her it was delivery e never had pick up. So she says oh ok.. if I have any other things I need ill call you....ok... So Thursday comes along. Which is today! And no call and no furniture. I call them and explained to them I had delivery scheduled for today and so far I haven't heard anything or no furniture. Then I was put on hold and another lady gets on and asks me how can I help... uh what!! I called about my delivery!. Then I was put on hold again And then the next lady gets on and explained to me that it was set for delivery for today, but never scheduled for the time and that she doesn't know y the other lady said it wasn't for delivery!... like wtf is gong on here. I was put on hold a third time then finally she gets back on and says she has to call the delivery service and that they'll call me back Soooo an hour pass by and I get a message that I need to reschedule ..tf. So this is what you'll deal with with customer service there. I didn't call back. I just had my wife deal with it lol. Other then that.. the sales people were nice and helpful. This is by far the worst customer services I have ever experienced. We purchased a few items here for our new home and that was the only process that was easy. When it came down to have our items delivered, we have experience lack of ownership from the Delivery team as well as from the store. One of the item (wine rack) was dropped off and the delivery person did not bother putting it together. Later when we tried to put it together and were not able to, we call his cell and asked him why he didnt do, his response was "I must have forgot, I'll stop by at the end of my route and help you out". 4 hours later, my wife called his phone again and his answer was "on my way". 2 hours later, his cellphone was going to voicemail. The next day we called the store, and they told us that the driver told them that we did not want him to put the piece together. Like "REALLY", why would we pay for the delivery and not have them delivery person assemble the item??? Fast forward after over a month of battling in calls with the store, they were able to send someone to help us with the set up, to discover, the reason why the original delivery person did not put the item together is because the parts were defective and that a new item will need to be order. Now we go back to the store and they told us it will take about 2-3 weeks for them to have it order and shipped to the store and from there, when the item arrived, we will be notified. I called the store once/twice a week after that and was told that I did not need to call to check and that I would be contacted once the piece has arrived. Good thing I did not listen to them because when I called the other day, I was told, " oh yeah, the item has been here for almost two weeks now, has no one called you?" And I was like, "I called last week and the week before and I was told the item is still not here" and now I have to wait another 2 weeks for the items to be delivered to my house? WORST customer service EVER. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE. I know I am just a customer out of millions, but I had to share my experience here. Hope you do not threat all your customers this way. Stay away from this place. read more

A few weeks ago I purchased a couch and love seat from your Maplewood, MN store. My family and I went in to the store around 6 pm. We knew which set we wanted, and spent about 5-10 minutes looking to find it. After 20 minutes in the store, we were greeted the first staff - Patrick. Who asked us if we needed help, we said we were testing a few couches and he walked away. At the 30 minute mark, we walked up to the office staff and said that we were ready to purchase the couch. The woman at the computer asked who our sales person was, and we let her know we had not been greeted and that we didn't have a sales person. She called Patrick over the loudspeaker, and he came to help us fill out our order. He let us know that the love seat was available but the couch was on backorder. He stated it would be in 2 weeks later December 12th. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, we have not heard anything from the furniture store so we call. Patrick lets us know that the couch is still on backorder and will be in another 2 weeks - stating he advised us on this time window originally, and had we not been okay with this he would have told us to go with a different product. This is not true. We knew the couch was on backorder, we were okay with the 12/12 date, and we were okay with the delay. What I am not okay with is being lied to, and stating I was told it would be delivered in the window of 12/12 and 12/17. Fast forward another 2 weeks later, we have not heard from the store and call again. They inform us that it's still on back order and that Patrick will call us back to fill us in. Patrick calls us 3 days later, and is genuinely surprised at my frustration regarding the one sided customer service we have received. He lets us know he will call the warehouse and update us on the new delivery date. 2 days later Patrick texts me that the warehouse should have the shipment in 3 days. I work in the relationship/partnership industry and I would never text someone in regards to a tense customer service situation. I found this to be extremely unprofessional. I called and asked to speak with a manager, and it turns out that Patrick is the manager. 4 days ago, I called the store again and was able to speak with Jamie at the Maplewood store. She is the saving grace of this whole situation. She gave us more information than we had received in 4 weeks in 5 minutes over the phone. She printed our order and put it in with the orders that she managed, even though she was not our sales person, so she could monitor and update us on our order. This morning I called the store asking for Jamie, and got Patrick. 15 minutes later Jamie called to let me know my couch had come in and was ready for delivery. Information that was clearly available to Patrick, and was not given to me even though I spoke with him 15 minutes before the call. Jamie saved the day, and took on work that was not hers to save the customer service experience. read more

Don't buy any furniture here if you expect quality and good customer service. We bought a bedroom set here and had to get replacements for 4 of the pieces because they were damaged or scratched. Getting them replaced was a nightmare! Their delivery service was terrible! I had to call several times to get things scheduled and wouldn't receive calls back when I left messages. Their salespeople had trouble tracking down my order and actually lied to me about a nightstand and when it was to be replaced. Don't shop here! You will be sorry! read more

Horrible experience. From the salesperson who would not let us breathe while browsing 'til the fact we waited a month for delivery only to receive damaged merchandise. Best part of this is...are you ready? They delivered so late, we did not see the 3 chunks missing from the table as it was dusk, nor did we have time to sit in three of the six not leveled chairs. When we called 18 hours after delivery to complain they told us that to get a replacement we have to pay for delivery?!! WTH?! read more

Bought a sectional from them 3 years ago. Sales person said it was a best seller and durable. After 1 year it was broken in 3 spots, flat cushions, and pilling on the fabric. Every attempt to return it was of course not happening as the warranty had expired. Went back to the store and also made many phone calls and was always referred to "the manufacturer" as if they had no responsibility for the product they'd sold me. Any repairs of course come out of our pocket. Come to find out from a sales person the model we bought was pulled from the floor for being a lousy product. We've now had it for 3 years and it is ready for the dumpster. I'll never buy another product from them again. read more

Horrible customer service. Was contacted after buying furniture and informed they had entered sale as tax exempt so we would have to pay additional amount in sales tax even though we had already signed contract. At the time of sale they were aware they did not charge sales tax and even said it was in our favor...and they did not know why. We were told delivery would call 2 days before to give 3 hour time slot and then again morning of. No calls until 7:30am on delivery day saying 20 min away and insisted we would have to be there at that time or would have to be a later date. After calling. received a msg from 1 888 number stating delivery was there and if we were not there in 15 min again we would need a new date. After calling # back they apologized and cant imagine why the system did not notify us. We make it to meet delivery and then an hour later get a text at 9am -delivery scheduled that day between 8am and 11am and get another call with same message. read more

The customer service at the Maplewood store was beyond amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. I bought two armchair end tables and one was very easy to assemble, but the second provided me problems. When I called the store they said to just bring it in. Mario Walden, the store manager greeted me at the door and help bring the table parts in. He assembled the table and found that it has structural problems. He suggested a replacement at no extra cost. The entire experience at the store was wonderful and Mario made be feel comfortable and welcome I would definitely recommend shopping at this store.
