My husband and I bought both of our desks and my desk chair from the Ashley Furniture Store in Roanoke, Virginia. We have had problems with both desks and they are yet to be repaired. I have a lighting problem and some other structural issues. My husband's desk is warped. We do have an appointment with Murphy's on November 12, 2024. This is the second trip from Murphy's, as they had to order parts for each desk. I feel this has been way too long, as this furniture was purchased in the early Spring. s My second issue. About a week and half ago we purchased 4 pillows and two lamps from the store in Lynchburg. Our sales person was Cory Reyna. At that time, he didn't show us around, or really help us look for the lamps. I was the one that found both the lamps and the sofa pillows for our previously purchased furniture at another furniture store. The pillows were delivered late last week, on Thursday or Friday. He told us then that we had a month to return anything we might not be happy with. Today we returned two of the sofa pillows, as the sofa is not big enough for 4 huge pillows. He told us he would take care of a refund and that someone would call us on Tuesday, October 29. I gave him the pillows and asked him for some type of receipt that he had the pillows. He threw them at me and told me to keep them, and that we would hear from someone on Tuesday. This is not acceptable customer service. Do not give these lying people your business!!! I went into the store and made an order mid-July. Mind you my husband and I moved here out of state and have NO furniture. The salesman told us that it would be delivered in 2 weeks. Guess how long I have waited??? 6 weeks!! and they still continue to tell me I have to wait another three weeks because "a piece is missing." They have terrible communication because one of the employees told me the missing piece arrived on August 8th. The workers continue to give me and my husband the run around and we see no end in sight. We are now trying to cancel this order of over $4,000. At this point this store needs to either be shut down or get new staff that can communicate better. Let's see if I can get out of this horrible business deal. Ashley Store at 2116 Wards Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502 We had the worst experience ever in our entire life! If I could give 0 star, I would. First of all, the delivery was bad. We had a large order - over $10,000 and they were missing pieces so they were not able to set everything up on the same day. They also did not give us a receipt showing an itemized list of items so we know how much we're paying for each. They said that's how their system works. I know why... they jack up the prices but we didn't even want to complain about that as long as we are satisfied, right?! They knew we didn't have time to wait around since we were still in the process of going back-and-forth out of state but we had to keep repeating that fact, and they gave us a hard time about waiting around, no follow-ups so we kept following up and they didn't have the common courtesy to let us know what's going on. Thought issue was resolved when someone came back but then we found out we're missing more pieces. They always had excuses like the assistant manager was always out or sick, but that's not valid. You can still tell someone what's going on by simply texting since we're already texting each other, but no, they annoyed us too much. The delivery charge was refunded because of all the mistakes they made -- well, okay. After a month, we also found out that some screws and support are missing from our outdoor furniture that's why the loveseat for example is creating a U-shape when you sit on it. It's missing the support in the middle. My dad just added some screws he found in our house so we could at least still use it. Some screws were also so long that it went through the table top - my dad noticed it when he was wiping the table so he fixed that, as well. The delivery people (third-party) also said they reported a couple damages of the items to Ashley, and that someone will contact us to deliver us replacements, but that never happened, it's already almost 3 months ago. Another thing, I had an office desk that I was told they could assemble but it turned out I was given the wrong info so they told us they're going to give us a gift card instead which they didn't give. The manager told us we could just go back to the store to redeem it. So we went back to the store to redeem it. We got a loveseat for my parents' room. While we're purchasing the loveseat, we were trying to measure it but the assistant manager said "we should be able to get that in" so okay, we didn't worry. They simply did not charge us for the delivery fee so there were 2 Ashley people who came to deliver it. They were already giving up - the guy kept saying "it's not going to fit the door (my parents' room)". My dad needed to help to get it in by him removing their door and INSTRUCTING them how to get it in their room. Gosh, Ashley got some incompetent people. I was kind of annoyed but I still gave the guy $20 for sticking around and getting it done in the end. I was going to let everything go by not submitting a review, but last night my parents were woken up because their queen size bed just FELL APART!!! Apparently, the manager Corey and assistant manager Kenny did NOT assemble it properly. They had to do it I guess because they did not have enough people to do it and they CANNOT get ANYTHING RIGHT!!! They were such in a hurry to leave instead of making sure they get things right. Both my parents are not heavy - they are thin! My mom's leg got caught and my dad's hand got hurt. My mom was traumatized and my dad had to spend time looking for his own parts in the basement so he could fix their bed that was not assembled correctly in the first place! When the bed fell apart, my parents looked around if the missing necessary parts came off but they didn't find them so that means Ashley simply did NOT put ALL the necessary parts correctly to make it secured. That's a SAFETY ISSUE and that's NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL!!! read more

BEWARE! BEWARE! ORDER FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE!! A single star is WAAAYYY more than these people deserve. We ordered furniture from our local store on Feb. 22, 2020. We ordered an entertainment center, table and 6 chairs, and a buffet. We were dumb and accepted delivery of the table and 6 chairs. We are still waiting on the entertainment center and buffet. We have NEVER been called to be notified of any "backorders" by ANYONE from Ashley. We have had to go into the store to get information about the order. I tried calling corporate to be told that our Ashley store was part of a separate franchise. I was given the phone number of another Ashley store in a city an hour away. I REPEATEDLY asked for a district manager to contact, name and number and was ignored all FIVE times I asked. The Roanoke store contacted the Lynchburg store to call me. They never contacted me, they called my husband as he was at work because "his name was on the order." This was in July. They told my husband that they would make special arrangements to have our items delivered 8/22/2020, the day after it was supposed to be in the warehouse. I called today to see when they were coming, they said it's going to be ANOTHER 2 weeks. Rightfully so I get upset and their "office manager" wants to fight and argue with me rather than attempt to resolve my issue. I ask to speak to a store manager and told there isn't one. I work as a home health nurse in a private residence. The mother of my 6-yr.-old patient ordered furniture in March and STILL has not gotten it. I have been sitting in a lawn chair since then. The local store gave her the runaround every time she called or went there. First, we have the tables and the loveseat, but not the sofa, then it was we have the tables but nothing else. I told her she should get her money back, but, they said they'd have it to her on May 15, then June 16, then July 18. Do not do business with them. We ordered over $4,000 worth of furniture for our living room, dining room, and bedroom on April 3, 2020. We were told 6 to 8 weeks due to covid making lead times longer. We received everything but the chair that was part of our living room set in mid-June. Since then I had called over 10 times and been into the store several more times and every time I am told "2 or 3 more weeks." The last time I called in mid-August, the store manager Maggie got my name and number and said she would personally keep an eye on it and keep me updated. She didn't call me the first time. I went back into the store this week and had decided to just ask for my money back, but when they looked up the order they said the chair was finally in, at the Roanoke warehouse. I asked why no one called to let me know and she didn't have an answer. Just wrote down their number and said call them when you're on the way to get it. So, today, over 5 months later, I finally have the chair on the back of my truck and am headed home. The gentleman at the distribution warehouse was by far the most polite, professional, and knowledgeable employee we encountered through this whole process. The in store crew doesn't communicate, care, or even act friendly unless you're buying something. We got the royal treatment when shopping and nothing but attitude and excuses for the next 5 months. We ordered a mattress on August 2 for delivery August 19. We called today to check delivery time and we shocked to learn that the order was cancelled on August 10. Though the payment still was processed on August 13. No notice was given. No reason was given. Nothing. We wouldn't have found out had we not called to check for delivery time. That is unacceptable. So we called their customer "care" number. We got the run around for several hours. nobody could give us any information other than it was cancelled. When we asked about the payment, they said it will get processed in 7-10 days. Then we found out from another customer service representative, that at the previous calls, nobody had actually put an order to process the refund. They just said it will be done. So this person finally put in the order for the refund. Still it will take 7-10 days to process. Sucks big time. The other part is getting a mattress purchased and delivered quickly. No way. We have to place a new order and just wait for delivery whenever it gets scheduled. We even asked to maybe check with their local stores for us to place the order and have them deliver. But that too was shut down. So, we will never buy anything from Ashley. This is a company that doesn't give a rats' ass about its customer. And we do not recommend any of our friends to deal with them. read more

Ashley HomeStore in Lynchburg, Virginia has the WORST customer service I have ever had in my entire life! I am not exaggerating. I ordered a sofa mid June 2018. I was supposed to get my sofa early July 2018. When they were initially supposed to deliver it they claimed it was broken. Since then nobody has been able to give me an honest answer as to when I'm supposed to receive it, it's now beginning September 2018. I have called numerous times and every time the date gets pushed back or it's in the warehouse awaiting delivery. I'll call again and the excuse I've received 3 times now, "it was broken so we had to reorder." NOBODY has taken the initiative to get in touch with me, I always have to call after a week or two has gone by. And on top of all that, nobody thinks they should compensate in any capacity for the inconvenience it is causing! I've been in the store three times and the manager basically told me it's between the delivery warehouse and myself to work it out. Corporate told me it's between the independent store and myself to work it out. Excuse me, but I don't think I need to work out anything. Mid September 2018, I go into the store and the manager asks me "would I like to pick out different furniture?" I said okay, so she referred me to one of the representatives and she told him how much my other furniture cost, so that was my limit. I initially picked out furniture and it was a couple hundred (I think around $200-300) more expensive so I was going to have to pay the extra, but I changed my mind. I should have been compensated the difference at the very least! I should have been treated better! You can't have expensive furniture and poor service. I just found out Ashley's is supposedly Christian based. There is NOTHING Christian about lying and providing horrible service. Don't trust there arrival date at all. They said at max it would take 3 months. But now it's 3 months and there saying it might be here in December. I bought it in May. Every time I called they push up the time. Now they pushed it up 3 months. And they probably will do it again. When you have to refuse because the furniture is so scratched up you think they picked it up from a Goodwill store. They charge you a restocking fee. I bought a dining room table and 4 chairs. Worst customer service, they overcharged me from what I was originally told the price would be. They took almost 9 weeks to deliver my stuff. It came in with one drawer damaged and the rug I ordered was not there. No one returns phone calls or responds to the email and then when I finally got the manager on the phone, she knew nothing and mentioned I bought a rug off the floor?? they told me it all had to be ordered and now they are saying its discontinued. I'm so disappointed to love a "set" that's not a set now. In addition, Grand gives me 20% off one item for being a volunteer and cash discounts - Ashley gave me nothing. Soooo, the dining room table we purchased was delivered and needless to say it was not in mint condition. No biggie, the delivery guys boxed it back up and we were suppose to get another new table in a couple of weeks. Well we got a table and it was the same one as before but repaired, ahhhh no way!! The money we spent on that table and they tried to pull the wool over our eyes. My wife contacted the store after dealing with some customer service reps and spoke with Jeff, who was super helpful and did not know of the situation, to our surprise we received a full refund for the table. I give Jeff four stars for his service but Ashley gets 1 for not sending out a brand new table the first or second time and for one their customer service reps that tried to talk circles around my wife. We ordered a mattress/boxspring several days before moving into our new home. They told us it would take 3-4 weeks for it to arrive. We waited 6 weeks before we finally called them. They said our bed had been waiting in their factory and that they would contact us for delivery. We scheduled a delivery date. The afternoon our bed was supposed to arrive we got a call saying the mattress had a defect and they had to re-order it. We had been sleeping on an air mattress that crapped out on us so we were NOT happy. They told us it would take another 2 weeks!!!!! So we waited another 2 weeks... no call. We called their store and demanded to talk to a manager. We were told a manager would call us. 2 days later... We had to call back because no one contacted us. This store is full of lying, menacing, cowardly snakes trying to sell you overpriced garbage! I went in and placed an order for a loveseat about a week before Christmas. When doing so the sales associate Lyle told me it was on backorder and they had to make more. Which was ok at the time. Well two days later, after thinking it over a bit, I decided to call and cancel it because I could use the money elsewhere in my life. When doing so they told me I had to pay a 20% restocking fee. Why would I have to pay a restocking fee for something that hasn't been made yet? You can't take a nonexistent item off the shelves! So at this point, over a month later, they say it's been on the truck for three weeks and I'd still have to pay the fee. If it's been on the truck for three weeks why don't I have it yet? Why did they tell me it was on backorder if they could place it on a truck that soon? I talked to the manager, Mike, and he just tried to weasel his way out of cancelling it just like his braindead staff that are so greedy it would make Satan look generous. Don't be a fool! Ordered a living room collection that took a total of 60 days for everything to be delivered, I don't know of anyone who spends that kind of money that would want to wait 60 days, that is not the impression however that you get from Ashley when you are doing the ordering, I had already scheduled with Lowes to have some wood flooring put down and so I was not in a super hurry but I had moved out all the furniture in the living room to do this and so when Lowes had finished their project I was left with an empty living room for at least 25 days after they were done. Then I get a phone call 2 days prior to the furniture arriving to let me know that my sofa would take another 30 days because the collection was so popular, who tells someone something like that. If it is popular you keep it in stock, If it is a collection you make for sure that if you sell just a sofa you have one to replace it. This type of service is unacceptable and I don't recommend anyone who is thinking of replacing their furniture to buy here where the date that is given you for delivery is a farce. read more
