We purchased a bedroom set and mattress. The same day, we checked Ashley furniture online and saw it was $200 less. We called to ask for an adjustment and were told they were a locally owned Ashley and couldn't match the online price. We asked to speak with the Store Manager and our salesperson said they would call and they never did. What a joke! They have no idea what customer service is and should not be able to represent the Ashley furniture brand! read more

I bought several pieces of furniture, including a dining set. All was delivered, but the table top. I was told by Donald Sharpe (salesman) to sign the delivery form, because the top would come in a few days. 2 months later, I still have no table top, and no help from the store. They do not return my calls. I've been told on 6 separate calls that Sherry (manager) would call me, but she never has. I've asked for the order number, which Donnie didn't put on the receipt, only to be told by Lucas (salesman) that only the manager has that number. I've had staff get frustrated and raise their voices at me when I've tried to get the problem resolved. I just want someone to help! read more

Purchased a house full of furniture from Ashley furniture. They pushed Their insurance which we purchased. When we attempted to file a claim they informed us that they no longer did business with that company. terrible customer service. they will lie to you and tell you the manager is at the office. give fake names. DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!!

A salesperson named Sarah P. was so pushy I felt like I was at a used car dealership. She told me to not purchase online because it is "a nightmare to deal with ever getting it and if it arrives damaged you're out of luck" then informs me the cost will be about $100 more to purchase the same dining table in person. In other words, pay more to buy from me in person so you don't have to deal with our horrible online delivery. What kind of place talks down about their own delivery system? Will never step foot in the store again. read more

We went to Ashley Furniture recently and found two couches we loved. Told the salesperson( I wasnt going to mention their name, but since reading other reviews and them having a very similar experience with her....Sarah, whose parents "own Knoxville Wholesale and also manage Ashley Furniture as well" as she told us right off the bat) we'd already had a nightmare experience at another store(we hadn't mentioned where yet, but ended up being the store they owned. ) and were looking for something we loved that was in stock. So she goes to check on both the ones we picked out... "I absoluelty get it, when you buy a couch you don't want to be sitting in lawn chairs waiting on it. You want it then. But great news, both are in stock and you could pick them up tomorrow" We pick our favorite, triple-checked that we can pickup the next day, and even go ahead and sell our current couch with the buyer scheduled to pick it up this Thursday...because again, we were told this new one was available and good to go. The next morning, we call like we were told to, they say they'll send the order over, so we drive 45 minutes, rent a trailer, burn gas, get there, wait around for 45 more minutes, and then, surprise...they don't actually have the couch. Mind you...we called them at 10, didnt get there to pickup until after 1 olock. No one called to say it wasn't there. No one knows when it'll come in. All they could offer was free delivery... whenever it randomly shows up. So now we have family headed in at the beginning of July and lawn chairs to sit on. For the ones reading this, thinking, "Well why'd you wait so long in the first place?" thats part 1 of this ordeal: Ashley Furniture is also ran by the same people that own Knoxville Wholesale in case you didnt know...thats important to the story. Back in February, we ordered a couch from Knoxville Wholesale Clearance, and were told 6-8 weeks for it to arrive. At week 8, we called, only to be told they had just ordered it four days ago and it would now be another 45 days. Frustrating, but we waited. At day 50, we checked in again--they couldnt look then because 'their system was messed up and they'll get in touch'. Five days later we called back.....still no couch. "It hasn't made it into port yet. Maybe 3 more weeks." That's when we canceled and set out to look for another one. So now, here we are: almost couchless, with family visiting in less than a month, out money for gas, a rented trailer, and time we'll never get back. And the best part? We're 3 days away from sitting on the floor (or the lawn chairs we joked about)of an empty living room and paying for a couch we don't even have or know when we'll get. 10/10. Would absolutely not recommend. read more

This place is awful. Management and the owner's daughter are condescending and rude. I ordered furniture here back in the summer... still haven't gotten it and was told it will be another 3 months before it's available and that the "special" they were running when I ordered ends in 2 months. So I assume they're going to "try" and charge me full price once it's available. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

Incredibly rude people. Bought a small item just to sample things. It was chinese junk. He had just finished telling me how a mattress I was looking at was american made and sold me a pillow from China. I wouldn't mind if it was a quality one. It wasn't. I never dive right in w/ a big purchase for exactly this reason. I called weeks later to tell them about the poor quality of the item and inquire as to the brand of the mattress, which I actually liked. A female was put on the phone who was extremely rude. That cell tower right on top of the building (almost) is doing a wonderful job of making zombies out of the employees who work inside. Just look at the reviews.. When I did get in contact w/ the sales guy a few days later, he was dismissive about the junky chinese pillow. Never contacted me back about the mattress. read more

Do NOT buy a mattress from here!! My husband and I went to Ashley furniture and we were helped by the saleslady Sarah. (Who is the owners daughter and one of the managers) We were interested in purchasing a mattress and asked if they would take our old mattress when they dropped off our new mattress. (which is customary when purchasing a mattress) She said yes they would take our old mattress. Both my husband and I heard her say it. They delivered our new mattress and the movers said they do not take the old mattress. I told him that I was told by Sarah that they take it. I said what am I supposed to do with it? He suggested calling a charity to take it. In the meantime we had to put the king size mattress and box springs inside the house. I called Sarah the next day and I told her that I wanted Ashley Furniture to take care of there old mattress like she told us she would do. She said there was nothing she could do for us and suggested we pay $100 to have Junk Be Gone come pick it up. I asked for Ashley Furniture to pay for it to be removed since she told us they would take the old mattress. She said they won't pay for anything. I told her that she lied to us and we never would have bought a mattress from them if we knew that we would have deal with the hassle and added expense of getting rid of the old mattress. I told her they have horrible customer service and she didn't care "Because they are the largest furniture store in the country"....do yourself a favor and do NOT shop here. AVOID Ashley Furniture Store at all cost!! We went in to buy a chair and they said they had it in stock and it would be to us in 4 days. They called the day before and said it was out of stock and it would be weeks before they could get it to us with no clue as to the date it would be delivered. I ask for a refund and got the run around.. "Come in in 3 or 4 days and we will do it". I ask for a manger and then the salesman got back on the phone and said to come in today. I went that day and they gave me a receipt for a refund. HOWEVER, I waited a week and NEVER got the refund!!! Tried calling them and got no answer! n June, I placed a custom order for bedroom furniture with Sara (in addition to love seats for our living room) I was told that we would have our furniture in August. End of August comes and she informs us that there is a delivery delay and we will have it first week of September. Middle of September comes and Sara says furniture has been delivered to warehouse but due to shortage of staff at warehouse she can't get us scheduled until September 25th. Tells us we will get a call the Friday before with a delivery time window for following day. 4 pm Friday comes, no call. I call the store and speak with a man who claims to be the general manager and he informs me I'm not even on the schedule to have my delivery and they are so short staffed that the furniture hasn't even been unloaded off the original truck and they won't be able to get it to me until October 2nd. October 2nd comes and the furniture gets delivered, come to find out ITS THE WRONG furniture! Wrong size bed and wrong footboard. Call the store and Sara is not available, I speak with Sherry Blaire who claims she is the general manager. Not once was she apologetic for the inconvenience, in fact she told me she could not carry on a conversation with me until Monday afternoon and that she needs to speak with Sara. She said while she is the general manager "Sara's family owns the store as well as other furniture stores in Knoxville such as Knoxville wholesale and she is more invested in these situations" Beyond disappointed with the overall experience with Ashley furniture, Sara (the owners daughter) placing the wrong order and the rudeness and unapologetic behavior of the general manager, Sherry Blaire. We purchased an entire house of furniture in October 2020 - two sets of bedroom furniture, kitchen furniture, living room furniture, dining room furniture and office furniture - along with a FIVE YEAR warranty for all of the furniture which was supposed to cover just about any time of breakage, scratches, ding or stains. The bed in our master bedroom has a broken slat in the framework. We have tried since the fall of 2023 to get the warranty company and Ashley to respond to get this fixed OR give us a refund of the $1400 in warranty premiums we paid. Wins Award for Most Dishonest staff, and worst quality furniture. After a purchase, and before delivery, I receive a call stating that they under charged me, and that if I wanted the furniture delivered, I had to pay $77.00 more. I asked for a refund, Jason told me that he couldn't refund our money over the phone. I had to come into the store with the original credit card so they could swipe it. Ok. So I go back. Before they close at 6 pm. The maskless staff swoops in. I ask for jason. He already left. Ok. So I go back and they tell me they need to see a photo ID to make sure that they are putting the money back on to the correct persons card. I say it's the same last four digits on the card as on the receipt. I'm not asking for cash, just put it back on the same card. By the way, they didn't ask for an ID when they were getting the money, just when they have to give it up they put up road blocks to make a refund more difficult. I show them a picture ID with my name and photo on it just as she asked. then she says that it needs to be a government issued ID. I hate this place. Swindlers. They lie about delivery dates. We were in need of a bedroom suite. In the past we have purchased furniture from Ashley. So we went back to Ashley @ Turkey Creek to look for a bedroom suite. We did purchase a bedroom suite, which we are very happy with. Also the two gentlemen that delivered the furniture were great, nice, on time, and did an awesome job setting up. We bought this a mouttrie power reclining loveseat (with matching sofa) in July at Ashley Furniture in Turkey Creek, TN. Two weeks later, the seat and foot rest started leaning.  When you closed the footrest, the fabric sagged.  We called but it took until September for a tech to come out.  He ordered new parts.  Came in December to put them in.  Once again, a couple of weeks later the same thing happened.  He came out again, and said he would put in request for new loveseat.  Loveseat was delivered a week ago.  In two days, we had the same issues!  I would NOT buy this!  Cushions soften easily, and it looks like a piece of used furniture.  I guess it only holds someone that weighs 80 pounds or less.  We are going to pick out something else from Ashley, but at this point, I doubt that their funiture has any quality or workmanship at all. read more

I bought a sofa, loveseat, and ottoman back in Jan 2021. I had to wait on the sofa and did not get it until 1st of March. The sofa frame is now broken and the loveseat is about to go, cushions are broken down also due to no support on the couch. Tech came out and he cannot fix it, put in his report that I want a refund. Keep calling the store about the report and they claim the tech has not sent it to them yet, has been 7 days today. I keep getting the run around and will probably keep getting it. I would NEVER buy anything here again, you live and learn. We went and purchased some new furniture at Lazy Boy instead. We came in to look for a couple of chairs. Our salesman Frederick Williams pointed us in the right direction without any high pressure sales pitches. When we found what we wanted, our concern was that with all the COVID related delays in getting things these days, that it would take a long time for delivery. Frederick checked availability, and got us a delivery date. He was friendly, honest, and thorough. Prior to our delivery date he called to let us know that there was a slight delay (1 week) and apologized, but said we'd get it for sure then. Our chairs arrived as promised, and we are happy customers. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Frederick in the future and recommend him. read more

I love Ashley furniture. I hate the "customer service." It's severely outdated and was never a good marketing strategy to begin with. Basically, the store hires a bunch of salespeople on commission. As a result, it's filled with pushy salespeople who play games and lie to get customers to buy. The thing is, the store sells decent furniture. It doesn't need to hire a bunch of salespeople to harass customers. Customers aren't buying Ashley furniture because of the salespeople. They're buying Ashley furniture in spite of the salespeople. read more

The manager supoosedly ordered one other chair to see if it's any better before ordering all new chairs because they probably all will be the same! However, this was 5 months ago!! Well how I start,,,wary sad that I have to do this,, my husband and I buy dining room set from Ashley Furniture at turkey creek on December 7 2016 Since this date we where not received our furniture properly, we had trouble with 3 chairs we are going back and forth between them since they sending us the chairs they are smelling on a gasoline their manager store she's so unprofessional she even send me a specialist to the house to double check the chairs the specialist said to me that he knows the difference between glue and the gasoline and in his working years he never experienced that smell on the material on the chairs. So we been going on since December 7th with them so last Saturday on the December 31st they delivered three cheers so I said thank goodness maybe this time everything will be OK but hack no same old problem again the chairs smell because they sprayed them which I think it should be a febreze or something we let the chair dry so on Sunday gasoline smell came back, is so bed that I have to keep the chairs in the garage so sad and an professional specially from the store manager handling so poor so today they offer us today is Monday January 2nd to come and bring those chairs and pick up the chairs from the store from a floor that's how store managers handling the business as it's so sad. So I would warn people I wish I will try to make a picture of a dining room set so the future costumers would know about this because this smell will not go away trust me. read more

Zero stars is what I would prefer to put. The last day of April went in to the Turkey Creek store and found the sofa and loveseat I wanted for my new home. Kelly told me how lucky I was that it was in stock, with COVID and the reduction in inventory being brought in...Great! My lucky day. We were renting a house, but moving into the one we purchased at the beginning of June. We lived just around the corner from the store and could come and get it, or could they deliver it to our new home. After looking at the delivery schedule, we had it set up for 6/9, done and done. Great! 6/8 comes and the store calls around noon to let me know that the driver will call when they are on the way. Great! (Wait for it) 6:00 PM - PM! - I get a call from Kelly that my furniture is not in stock. WHAT?!! We are moving the next day and you are calling me at 6:00 o'clock the night before, after confirming earlier in the day, to tell me my living room furniture that was in stock when I bought AND PAID FOR IT, is not in stock. And what, I think, makes me more angry than them selling my furniture out from under me and not telling me anything until the night before (as I could have easily come and picked it up, as we lived around the corner, and the new house was 40 miles away btw), is Kelly not taking responsibility for her mistake and blaming it all on COVID and the fact they were not getting the trucks coming. Not sure how that applies to the situation, but that is all she would say. Do you know when I got my furniture? THE MIDDLE OF AUGUST. And I had to go get it or it would have been another two weeks! The disappointing thing is that we had, just a couple years prior, spent THOUSANDS of dollars at the Ashley store in Merrillville, Indiana, purchasing a living room set, bedroom set, dining set, bar stools, and after this debacle, what did Ashley Furniture do? Credit of $50 per piece (2) and waiving the delivery fee (Uh, we picked it up). WE WILL NEVER SHOP AT ASHLEY FURNITURE AGAIN!!!! read more

Monna is rude, dismissive, condescending, and clearly doesn't want her commissions. We went to the store fully prepared to purchase a bed we had seen on the website. She looked at the picture and said, "We don't have that." I said, "Oh, okay...Could you show us what you do have?" She speed-walked us over to a bed. I didn't care for it, or the price tag, and asked if there is anything else in black. She was very short with me and said, "No. This is it." When I asked why the website showed that they had the bed, she asked to look at it again on my phone. I showed her and she said, "538...that is REALLY low for a king. That's probably the queen price." I showed her the word "KING" on the item. She looked annoyed and said, "Well, I can see if we can order it, but we can't match the website." She walks to the computer and types in the item. I see it on the screen, but she says, "I don't see it. Looks like we can't get it." I pointed it out on the screen and she said, "Oh...I guess that is it." She went to checked with her manager, and came back 10 minutes later with a price of over $100 more than the site. Plus delivery. Then just stood there looking at us like we were bothering her. But the thing that really got under my skin...the thing that just chapped me was when we told her we would shop around a little and if we didn't find anything we liked better, we would be back in the next day and purchase. She sighed heavy and gave my husband her card. She said, "I'm here tomorrow from 1-6." Now my husband has a habit of repeating things back to make sure he hears correctly. So he said, "1-6." She cocked her head and with a condescending tone said, "Yeah...those ARE our Sunday hours. We close early on Sunday." I really loved the bed we saw on the site, and honestly wouldn't have minded to order it at all. But I sure as sugar wasn't going to order it from her. She treated us like an insect that she didn't want around her. Oddly enough, when we went to KWFCC, we mentioned to our salesperson that we had just had a bad experience at Ashley, and she nodded and said, "Monna?" Enough said. read more

I tried to post a review to the Knoxville Ashley Home Store site, but I was unable to find a place where I could do that. So, here we are. Literally just before Easter, we jettisoned our old living room furniture - not thinking that we might run into trouble getting what we wanted to replace it. After several stops, we walked into the store at Turkey Road. We located a couch that we had seen at Knoxville Wholesale Furniture, but KWF could not deliver the couch until AFTER Easter. (We had no idea that Ashley & KWF were owned by the same people. Nor did we look for reviews on these stores which would have been, in hindsight, a good thing to do!) The head saleswoman approached us and we explained our situation - that we had no living room furniture for company arriving in the next week. She "pulled some strings" and she would have our couches (we bought two identical pieces) delivered by that Wednesday! We were very happy to hear that and when Wednesday arrived, the truck pulled up front. From the time the guy that was in charge of the two man team called us to make sure we were home, to the time they left, we felt as though we had impositioned the guy in charge. No two-wheeler was used in getting either couch off the truck and they were never lifted over the small porch railing we have. Instead, it was rammed through the railing and the front door. No conversation was had as this guy furiously took the padding and plastic off the first couch and drilled the feet onto the piece. Wham, bam, no thank you ma'am! With the second couch, the lead guy came down the sidewalk faster than his teammate and the teammate dropped the couch on the ground! At this point, lead guy said that he was going to cut open the plastic and remove the pillows and seats from the couch to make it easier to maneuver the couch through the door. The legs were zipped on, paper signed, trash removed, and they were gone. No inspection by the "highly trained" professionals was done and no further comments made. We paid a $129.99 delivery fee to have our furniture handled with care during the delivery process. We would have been better off paying a couple of friends some pizza and beer for their help. Inspecting the couches after they left, we found that Mr. lead guy had slashed the front of our couch. When I called the store and talked to our saleswoman, she said she would send a "tech" out to look it over and repair it. Upon further thought, we decided that we shouldn't have to accept something that they themselves had compromised. Calling the saleswoman back, she said they had a no return policy and that nothing could move forward until the tech came out to inspect the couch. Said tech showed up weeks later and he cast doubt that the delivery guy could have caused the slash on the front of the couch, but eventually he stated that we were due a replacement couch. Replacement couch came a week or so later and the two guys that showed up were the antithesis to the first two. Peter and Adrian used proper equipment to get the couch down the sidewalk. They took care in taking out the old couch and bringing in the new one. They were professional, courteous, and affable. They made note that the new couch had a hole in the material on the bottom, as well as a section that wasn't stapled properly. A week later I called to see if this information had been passed on to the tech and the woman that answered the phone was rude to me when I tried to explain what I was talking about. Waiting for the repairs to be done and then we will be done with Ashley Furniture. read more
