The Sync office (in Sierra Madre) is really beautiful and restful - it feels like walking into a home, with cozy seating and warm lighting and even a coffee/tea station in the lobby for in-person appointments (although during COVID that has been temporarily suspended). Everything about the atmosphere feels so intentional and welcoming. Pre-COVID, for in-person appointments, you'd go into the lobby and simply press the button on the wall next to your therapist's name, which would alert them to your arrival - no nosy receptionist, just very discreet and relaxed while waiting for the appointment time to begin. I understand that some of their therapists do still currently offer in-person visits under certain circumstances, especially for kids needing in-person play therapy, which is great. Although I really appreciate virtual sessions, it was always nice getting to easily grab a sandwich or a coffee before/after sessions when I was there in person, too - the location is right next to a Subway and a great local coffee shop called Coffee.jpg. Such a calming place to come to - both the area itself and the office specifically. This place has a number of therapists on staff that you can contact individually to set up a session, or you can contact their office administrator, Liz, using the main phone line and she'll connect you to someone who fits your desired experience level, price range, gender, takes insurance, etc. She was so warm and kind, it really made the whole experience of getting started easy. I worked with Annie, who was always so consistently warm, nonjudgmental, and just SAW me for who I was as a person. You can tell she is really good at what she does and asks really great questions, but also leaves the right amount of space for me just to verbally process and have a space to make sense of and feel heard in my experiences. I've definitely grown as a person through my work with her, and I'm so grateful for her understanding and skill. I've recommended several people that I know to Sync and they've had good experiences with a number of different therapists there, as well. Definitely worth checking them out!!
