At the time I lived in Columbus and was in the Ironton/Portsmouth area to see family and had randomly found this spot when they were located downtown. Over the years I had visited and found some awesome horror items, comics, and vintage toys. It's been a few years since I've been in as I now live 4.5 hours away compared to 2.5, but was in the area on Wednesday. I had stopped in and browsed but finally tried the ice cream. I had a Wookies n Cream shake and my wife had a BB Cake cone. The punny names work well with the shop and the flavors were good. The only strike was the straw for the shake was an Icee straw vs a regular one. Staff was friendly and prices were very fair from toys & comics. Definitely a place I try to visit when I'm in the area.

It's frustrating to walk in and see employees like Carly on their phones instead of assisting customers. The contrast in work ethic is very noticeable. I'd love to visit more often, but the inconsistent service makes it hit-or-miss.

Only reason for 4 stars is nobody offered us help or asked anything until we got to checkout. Several employees passed us throughout the visit.

i love this Joann location! the fabric quarter selection is to die for, and i love making a special…read moretrip when they're on sale. there is a good selection of yarn, but there is definitely a markup on popular brands that a place like Walmart would carry for significantly cheaper. it's definitely worth a trip for their fabric and notions.
